As an incoming A0, try understanding FEMA and NDI Rules. Beyond that, the Company Rules, in my limited experience, depend a lot on the team and the kind of matters it handles.
So upper CAM management may be there?
I have quit 2 jobs in the duration of 1 year, with 6 months stint each, now I have been in a place for more than 2 years simply because I grit my teeth and told myself theres no way out and that worked.
It was bad for 2-3 months, my mind started to wander off to quitting, but then everything worked out in the end.
I understand mileage may vary, but just hold on.
The firm overall is arguably the most toxic organisation in the industry especially when you consider the underlying reason as to why more than half the people to join it leave within 6 months or so. You meet any associate at the firm and you will never hear them talk about staying there beyond a point. Everyone wants to leave.
I wonder where Mr. Singhvi would be if not for his daddy, say if he was born in a middle class family.
There's no information available anywhere about this. Please help!
One of clerks I know 7L p.m. just in cash
a) As someone above said, postdocs positions are incredibly difficult to get, so some experience post-PhD makes you stand out from other candidates who may have better credentials.
b) A postdoc is perhaps the only time you get paid handsomely to do only research with minimal to no teaching obligations. So, for example, when an Associate Professor applies for a postdoc, it is one the very few options where they are able to focus purely on research for a certain amount of time.
I paid 20k just yesterday to a clerk for a tiny work.
Eg- LKS, Spice Route, Majumdar
NUJS since it has an advisor I want to work with, however I am afraid of the politics and administration, and it's decline as an institution.
NALSAR since I find it a little bit better than NUJS in terms of overall faculty and facilities, also LLM students can TA.
Please advise? Advisor or Institute?

With regulatory work, you may be straddling advisory and disputes, but typically in one industry / sector, and often you will do advisory work and some BAU documentation.
So, someone who works in insurance, will know the regulations which impact policies but someone doing insurance M&A should immediately know how insurance M&As are structured.
Someone who does Fintech work, should know how payment aggregator or gateway documentation works or how PPI instruments work or how some of the newer RBI's fintech guidelines and limitations will impact the sector. But someone who does transactions work doesn't need to know any of this until there is a deal and then they will work during the deal to get an overview of it while undertaking due diligence. The firm advising the company or exiting shareholder won't even know this unless some issue is flagged for discussion.
I hope and pray this doesn’t happen at any NLU. Life is short, kids. Don’t waste it by taking politics so seriously and getting into such fights. 🙏 🙏 Besides, most of you will end up working for Cyril Shroff anyway! 🥲

When you hit 45 or 50, you will realize that there are many many people in your circles who make the kind of money you will never dream of. No one who can afford it really cares about this kind of flashy lifestyle. Yes, you need to spend money (non- entry level German car, the "right" address), but that is to fit in, not to stand out.
You want to know what actually matters? And what you are judged on?
Health parameters, looking fit, club and society memberships, being invited to exclusive events (meet the celeb, launches of anything new, and all the other things that no amount of money will buy you). Who you know. Who knows you. Who you know. Who you know. Who you know.
Well-ironed, sharp-looking formals always play pretty well. Lighter shades of shirt with a complimenting tie and polished shoes with well-fitted trousers and a blazer are what I wore. You could go for a vest if a 3-piece suit is what you're looking to wear. Will be well appreciated by arbitrators and mooties alike. As such, there is no black/white mandate at all. Sky's the limit with what you choose to wear.
Remember, the Vis Moot is a bigger networking event than a moot, so whatever you do - dress smart and formally for the formal events.
Also, have a ton of fun. You don't get to go on an unsupervised international trip with your friends everyday :)
I remember an instance where a money of INR 5 lakhs was lent in 2016 and the lawyer of the accused wants the complainant to settle for one lakh rupees in 2024. Both the lawyers were hand in glove and did not want the case to reach its logical conclusion. This is Indian system for you.
Another reason judges decided UGC recognition was presupposed: UGC chairman was a part of the EC and he signed off on the permission to launch online courses
Which showed that UGC chairman did not find such courses illegal at the time of launch
This is what happens when you have been focusing only one side of facts, you miss the larger picture
EC was persuaded to stop courses not because of UGC recognition etc, it was scared that there may be a scam happening as alleged by the SJA prez, which led to a haphazard disorderly unplanned shuttting down of courses leading to all the misery
And its sad to see you continue to allege corruption on this forum
Since you live in delhi should have intervened no?
But being able to intern throughout the year will unlock opportunities. This won't be possible at Sastra due to location and timings.
Lastly, for PPOs, in my personal opinion what is being considered is aspects which a firm will not really be able to teach: soft skills, personality, behaviour etc. If you have basic understanding of the concepts and a brief overview of the practice area, most work is so repetitive that it can easily be taught (which thr firm will do). But if they are not confident of putting a person in front of a client, they wont hire that person.
Commendable
clat 2024, AIR 2772, general, 5th list has hopes but i can wait till may 2024, alos going into 3 tier is so stigmatised, i dont want to go to private colleges, my parents are against it, except sls pune, so i have 4 options in hand slat, mhcet(glc considering), jmi(should i give it?), cuet(bhu in hand, du maybe in future).i feel like dropping but that dreads me alot

For BnF it is Girish Rawat
This is for the Delhi office btw
I am literally in my 3rd year right now, and this feeling of "not belonging" is only a thing of the first semester. If you allow it to persist for long, it will hollow you out.
Switch to transaction side.
I have seen several sexual harassment complaints being filed and getting ignored. The Internal Complaints Committee in GNLU is almost dead. GNLU as an institution has failed miserably in providing a safe environment to students.
I heard a person guaranteeing listing petition the next day after filing. He said he'll take a lakh rupees but guaranteed listing. Do they earn so much and is it possible through e filling ?
Which organisation actively makes a loss making deal such as the above?
He has been earning more than 150 crores, EVERY year, for the pas 5 years! This is just insane!
Or maybe statesman 🤦
2. Timings are from 9 to 5, but could change based on your elective subject and maybe u will have one lecture at 9 and second at 4.
3. Hair rules, no as such hair rules
4. Placement: suck, this year we had total 40/45 placement in toto, from 450 people batch (5 year +3 year + llm)
5. Vacation period is weird, sometimes they give other time they don't.
Let's talk about real things?
1. For online classes u have to give a test to get attendance for that
2. 75% attendance rule is there as well
3. All old and good facs have left and only new comers are here
4. People are toxic af, will lie to your face
5. Did u heard the gnlu favouritism thing? SLS is 100 times that
6. Some people from 2025 and 2026 batch have been accused of rapes and harassment
7. The college recruitment committee is shit, they won't even talk with any firm on your behalf even if it's just for a day of leave in case of test/viva
8. There's compulsory physical viva/test in 3/4/5 years, if not taken then u have to take the subject next sem
9. The director is biased towards South Indians and prefers them for everything, position and even marks were given solely on this account
10. The internships and jobs are primarily gotten by students themselves and the recruitment committee has little or no role in that.
Do u want me to continue?
It is no secret that UGC has always been (and still is) lackadaisical abut enforcement of its own rules. Quite expected of an institution that is packed with political appointees. Applies to all political parties. UGC has been pulled up by SC and various HCs as well. It remains a sloth.
But that doesn't excuse NUJS from not getting the due approvals. It is true that a specific set of rules for online courses were brought in by UGC in 2018. But before that UGC had cautioned against joining online courses that did not have its approval.
Kindly educate me on the following:
1. You claim that that distance education students always knew that the courses did not have UGC approval (but this is contested by an aggrieved student in a Wire article). You also claim that students didn't care because they wanted quality practical stuff, which others, including NLUs were not providing. Please confirm.
2. You claim that PIB and Co (including you) did not mislead the EC/AC etc (although the records show that PIB and Co promised repeatedly that the courses wouldn't begin without UGC approval). If you didn't "need" UGC approval and the students didn't care, why did PIB and Co even need to discuss UGC approval pre-2018?
3. Whatever may have happened between NLS and UGC concerning MBL et al, why did that rattle NUJS? Why issue clarifications regarding something that students already "knew" or "didn't care" because they were interested only in skills and not in govt jobs wherein UG approval mattered? Again this wrinkle has been exposed in the Wire article written by a distance education student.
4. If students didn't need or care about UGC approval and likely didn't ask for it from Cal HC, why did the judge go out of his way to direct UGC to give retrospective recognition (as you put it)? Actually, the Cal HC could have done this very thing even earlier. What caused this delay?
5. Why did NUJS admit in the court in 2018 and thereafter that it did not have due approvals from UGC for the courses? It could have simply followed your narrative/advice. That pesky SJA ex-Prez was gone by mid-2018. You had access/proximity that he didn't.
only downside- substandard and lazy CPD cell, good for nothing, with absolutely incompetent students.
2. class timings keep changing; the time table for the day is sent to the students a day in advance- it is scheduled by the coordinator of the batch. the timings vary from 8am to 5pm
3. dress code, although white and black, is neither followed much, nor enforced by the management or faculty (except a few strict facs). Also, you can keep your long hair
4. as long as you maintain top 15 rank in your batch, you're set for internships w tier 1 firms. placements aren't great, depends on market forces for a particular year. but you're expected to find internships/PPO for yourself
5. you will have an internship break of about a month or 1.5 months, of which the last 20 days will consist of online classes.
