I don't want to mess this up. I want the job. It's not been good for me. Getting this job might give direction to my life for a while. Any insights or prep questions would be helpful.
thank you in advance !
What could he possibly mean? What kind of what does he want me to do with the DTD?
Please help LI family. Thanks :)
University scheduled a condolence meet today for the departed soul.
In such a situation, 5 year law started by them will only be a waste of time and money for young people. Go to NLUs or jindal or symbiosis pune than joining this substandard and high priced law degree, all in the name of IIM.
While she was pitching, you can see the all the skills that she has gained from being a lawyer - ensuring she engages with all the judges (i.e., sharks), having answers to almost all the queries that sharks asked at the tip of her hand, giving out as much relevant info as she possibly could in each answer, the fast paced manner of speaking (this one being the most typical lawyer behaviour - explaining something in as much detail, in the least amount of time possible) and obviously there would be a lot of other such skills that she would have gained when she was a lawyer!
Leaders get better brand laptops and iPhones, but the tech is essentially the same.
I think it's best that he stands as an independent against Abhishek Banerjee in Diamond Harbour, and the BJP, Left and Congress all decide not to contest against him, so that it becomes a two-horse race. Muslims in Diamond Harbour may also vote for him if he goes independent.
1. Work Atmosphere
2. Seniors
3. Matters
4. Over all aspects
he has been a friend of mukesh since a long time
2. Beautiful and Grand Buildings - again, it was mainly for administrative buildings and some places of leisure. Rest of the Indians were left to rot. These buildings are expensive to build and maintain - would you rather have 'beautiful' buildings or good admin? Cause India does not have the resources for both and the Britishers only focused on superficial goodness - rest of the money was siphoned off to their mashed potato eating population that still eats like Germany is bombing them.
3. Many unis were established - granted, somewhat a good point, but then again, why are we comparing Britishers to Mughals? Are you telling we incapable of starting our own unis? Have you forgotten about Nalanda and Taxilla 'uni'? Education became a bit more formalised under the British but it was not out of the goodness of their hearts.
4. Many learned men were appointed as profs and admins - We are a population of 1.2B, of course in trying to not gatekeep education and opportunties some lacklustre appointments happen. Are you telling me beyond the Russel group, any unis in UK are good? Even in the Russel group most are questionable. Do you really want someone who doesn't understand what it is to be Indian to be in charge of teaching Indians?
5. English Language was introduced - I'm sorry, are you telling me the populations in Japan and SK depend on English for their education? It is good we can communicate in a common language, but I think given time we would've figured out a common language or have adopted English on our own. There was no need to siphon $4.5 trillion for that.
6. Scientific temper was encouraged - did you and I read the same history? The Britishers frequently gatekept the common Indian from accessing premier institutions (even Ramanujan faced lots of issues, and that man was a genius par excellence). Also Pre Mughal era had a decent amount of scientific advancements. While I agree stuff like Homeopathy

I have a specific reason to get into B&F and Insolvency Practice and that is why I am asking.
Snip/snip
- Indians were allowed to contest free and fair elections, imagine giving fair elections, they were allowed in positions of power
- Policies for spreading education,
- acts to stop sati and widow remarriage act
- Sat in conferences and meetings with the indian leaders and heard their grievances
- Preserved architectural monuments and places of worship under ASI
- started the modern movement early, constitution, laws,
- Acts allowed indian judges to hear cases on british citizens
The only time the british retaliated with heavy punishment was in acts against the government,
Now Jewish holocaust - 6 million killed, no mercy, no nothing,
Tibetan genocide - 1.2 million killed out of total 6 million population, destroyed temples, no negotiations instead came in the night time in the potala palace to kill the spiritual leader who barely escaped. Still no freedom.
African slavery - 12 million shipped to USA, 2 million raped,
Your illnesses are not your identity. And theyβre certainly not all the future has in store. Stop committing suicide and invest in your own self improvement. Do something everyday to be of service to someone else. Repair your relationship with your parents.
Financial independence is not - a thing you get. Build capability and that will follow. Get out of the fixed mindset.
Given your poor grades, it would become very difficult for u to get law firm jobs. Even if u get one, I would suggest u against taking the job as your mental health will get fucked beyond repair.
I have secured admission into JGLS (was getting into MNLU-N through CLAT but did not want to study there) and SLS-P.
I wanted to ask you all which of these institutions is better? I intend to try CLAT again to see if I get a better NLU, so I wanted to know which of these provides more free time to study. Additionally, which of these has a better brand image? I am from a small town in Maharashtra, so I perceive that SLS-P is better, but what is the general perception in the industry?
Leader - Automatically once you've completed 5 years PQE.
Head - only one for each practice/industry.
Stick to in-house. Very different than law firm, very difficult to get in.
He does have a "Left" background due to his mentorship and friendship with left-leaning folks. Then again, he has personally tasted excesses of Left regime, a big reason why he quit his WBCS position. He really cannot be faulted for not joining Left or GOP. Both have no future in Bengal (other than in some pockets). As an independent he can do very little.
Remains to be seen how independently he can function within BJP. But that applies to all parties. Everyone expects and demands unquestioned obedience and sycophancy. Those who do this smartly succeed.
coming to your other question, TNNLU is no where near the top 5 or 6 nlus, it is currently a tier 3 nlu which has very good scope for tier 2 in the upcoming years, it has a pretty huge campus and it's a good environment. the placements will pick up by the time you graduate most probably, it's a good college if you decide to put in efforts, unlike the top nlus you can't get placed by doing nothing.

May be judicial officers, or litigators or people working in the government sector in SEBI, RBI, ICLS etc.
Or even legal start up founders for that matter!
May God give you strength in these testing times.
The majority of the works as to the tuning of your brain to look out for those keywords and interpret the words right are already done
Infact going to law school even for a few months would infact supplement your chances of getting a good NLU
I'd recommend taking a partial drop but however would suggest joining a reputable institution even a T3 NLU is good.
- New academic system implemented reducing workload on students and professors exponentially,Website finally looks like it isn't in the 1990s(Great Redesign), Infrastructure issues being addressed.
-Things look good under the new VC for students
-Extracurricular Activities in the form of moots and adr opportunities right from the first year with great coaching system and helpful guidance, Participation and victory in all major sports fests.Furthee Active theatre society, Academic and Literature Society organises frequent quizzing events, Debating Club has practice sessions
-Great sporting infrastructure - maintained volleyball court, basketball court, football field, cricket ground and nets, indoor badminton and outdoor tennis.
-Faculty is experienced in their particular field, quite experienced professors(check the nluj faculty page for background and their activities)
-Ragging does exist but does not take any physical form,no casteism or discrimination of any sorts. Ragging at campus is merely an introduction and some light humor. while not encouraged it does happen,
- Ragging or introductions however are completely voluntary,no one would harm you in any sorts for avoiding ragging, further your seniors ensure you are safe and that any ragging by anybody doesn't harm you
- Helpful seniors who will be there for you if anything goes wrong
I recommend contacting people from nluj on LinkedIn or Instagram and having a detailed conversation about each aspect. public forums such as LI might generate false narratives or views by someone who isn't even at NLUJ.Going to people who are at the university and Getting direct insights would help
Looking forward to seeing you here

and also saw some people absolutely bashing it left and right
what should I do ?
Plus there are like 15-20 people in PPOs. Not bad, but could be better - it is in tier II
Now was just curious about something dont start a war on me
Why do these guys never try to cover the incident like kill them and bury or something ?
Grass root mentality change - takes time, a lot of time but has to be doneTalented and passionate people becoming people with power - and not going for cushion jobs like MNCs - it is what it is
No complacent people in places that hold authority to work on such issues - We need dedication and support
Eye for an eye mentality - not in the literal sense, but some damage must be done to those who decided to infringe the bodily rights of the woman - how? they should not be given equal rights, like other sane citizens, they no longer deserve it.
Men and women both need to become aware that they do not hold any right or power over others, the mindset of people is corrupted these days and the guts to act on the shit thoughts they have in their minds with no fear of any consequences is saddening.
So, no counselling, no giving second chances, no jail, a punishment that will act as a fear so no one dares to even think of committing such crimes is the only solution unfortunately, in a country like ours.
When peace doesn't work, harshness has to step in - in the form of strict punishments.
I need some perspective about how you guys are handling it? People around me are getting married, engaged left right and center. I am in no rush, but ideally...it seems like this is the age to get married. But I feel I will not have any time to give to my family like this at all. Is this sustainable?
Then victim blaming, I see so many people not believing victim statements but making conclusions based on the accused. It's almost as if men believe men more.
Then stigma in reporting.
Then the damn corrupt and slow police.
1 % lawyers - top
then IRS
then 99 % lawyers
Trilethal, a factory, may offer "lucrative" packages and fancy parties - they do not offer it out of their pockets (and those packages are mostly bonuses which you may or may not get).
Will not recommend joining a factory.
thx in advance
If people think british rule was good then we all know who divided indians deeply and started using their resources
Just reduce population of india and see cleanliness and make politicans accountable
Only if politicians were honest we would have be clean 50 years ago
Out cities are not in planned manner
Well infra is improving in recent years but still we are lacking in hygiene and cleanliness. We have cows, bulls and dogs roaming freely in street.
Just remove gutka dogs and other animals from street and see the cleanliness of streets in India
