Honestly, the right thing to do is tell your seniors you made a mistake, perhaps why you made the mistake (perhaps you misunderstood the law) and show them how you will avoid this mistake going forward.
Trust me, you'll feel bad for a while but you'll be fine.

I think its also- idolising youth and beauty which is a very western american concept thats creeping in through social media. There are also a lot of people wanting to regress/ remain in arrested development. I taught a credit course at a law school recently- I was surprised at how unlike their age students were behaving. theyre not really adults in training or behaving like adults in law schools anymore- its almost toddler like- the emotional dysregulation.
but yes. I think where theyre grown- even if theyre your age- you should start referring to adults by age appropriate words- ladies, gentlemen, men, women. If you woke up tomorrow and youre 30 years old- would you still call your colleagues girls and boys? a 25 year old who works in a law firm is at that stage in life where "girls" and "boys" is infantilising language. Anyone in the workplace- just age appropriate words are best.
The placements are pretty good for a non NLU, much better than likes of RML and RGNUL. You can check their Placement page on LinkedIn for the exact breakdown. They focus more on in house companies and insurance companies so Wipro, ICICI, HSBC, Citi are regular recruiters.
Coming to your query related to JAG it's the best preparatory law school for that. You'll be in that atmosphere where a good portion of your batch will be preparing for JAG. My personal advice is JAG is very unpredictable, there are very less number of seats and SSB is not everyone's cup of tea.
Don't narrow yourself down so much. focus on enjoying your law school and see if other areas interest you. Take a call in 4th year. Anyway, AIL is a fantastic place to be, the crowd is amazing, the admin is a bit regressive and Mohali is a great place to do college.
Ps- I'm not from AIL, i just know a lot of people there. Please confirm with current students too

For fun it also shows how a nepo kid struggles in District court. (Irony of how normal kids struggle in law firms lol)
Are all indian parents like this ? Ive been one of the top scorer of my school since I could remember but the lockdown messed my shit up went from scoring 99% to 95% (which isnt low) but for some reason my parents are not satisfied with that, especially my mother she throws tantrums for every moment I stop studying, she scolds me for coming outta my room to get water. She has been an overprotective bitch all my life while my friends where outside playing cricket I was at home studying (This was in 5th grade for gods sake) because of her I have no real bond with the people whom I so call my friends. I feel like im the third wheel they make plans but never bother to call me up, they dont even talk to me till I start the conversation. She prevented me from going outside or taking part in any sports saying that I didnt win any medals now Im a fatfuck who's always inside my room. After ruining my life like this she has the audacity to say that Ive ruined her life cuz I dont stand first in my school (bitch i havent failed either im always in the top 5) when I say this to her she starts yapping about how she left her prestigious job forn me ( bitch did I ask you to leave the job ? Ik you dont work cuz youre fucking lazy) and my father starts yapping about how they left their hometown to make me study in this school ( once again I didnt ask for this ). Now since Ive started to raise a voice against them theyve resorted to domestic violence, just now she slapped me so hard my ears are bleeding rn this isnt new my nose is deformed cuz that bitch threw a freaking metal bottle right at my fucking face. All this cuz apparently Ive ruined her pride by not getting the first mark, honestly it feels like Im just one of their stock portfolios.
Homestly I thought I could escape this hellhole by scoring well in clat but didn't get a score good enough to shift dk what to do help
Aman Gupta gave her a deal.

So, I'd say a great Counsel would be the backbone for running a transaction smoothly and getting the deal done.
Just to understand - what have you heard about B&F that you aspire to join this practice area?
Also, what kind of work do you think law firms engage in the B&F practice area?
T2: CAM, S&R, TT&A, Indus, C&M
T3: DMD, P&A, Sarvada, Axiom5, Gaggar
Not unique to tourists, of course. Happens to women of all classes and we even have reports of this in so-called elite NLUs. Whatβs the solution then? How about ultra-fast-track courts and capital punishment for all rapists?
And for a few - inflated considerably
No increase in retainer
HK will repeat, "We are trying to reach there (to be the highest paymaster)".
However I like the comparison between the fields in this market. Lets continue the fight
It takes strenght of character to own up.
it seems to me that the person who wrote this comment had not even walked in the corridors of a magistrate/ junior civil judges court.

2. acad block is decent. hostels are pretty bad ngl, specially men's. however, the new VC does seem to be changing that. in fact one of the boy's hostel has been rebuilt. everyone gets a single room starting your first year so that's nice.
3. admin is fuckall. v stern. you would not get exemptions on exams etc for moots as you probably would in GNLU. as for liberty, the only person who cares abot hostel rules is the CW. so as long as you hide from him, you're fine
4. sports is a huge thing here. moots, competitions not as much as GNLU i would say. largely because no one ever has the time to work on all of this because of excessive number of tests etc. however, that also has changed starting this sem. plus the 2026 batch seems to be winning wherever they go
5. easy if you're in top 15-20ish of the batch. after that a bit difficult tho not impossible, lots of people from 25ish rank also have T1 internships. largely dependent on CV
Most importantly, you will likely need an H1B after 12 months of working (the first 12 months should be covered by an OPT visa), which is based on a lottery system. I have seen people not get that and having to move to London or Hong Kong or Singapore (if their firm is helpful in finding them an overseas slot, which is not always easy).
There are folks here telling you to get a green card. The green card is linked to country of birth and not of passport. Assuming you were also born in India (and donβt just have an Indian passport), the wait to get to a green card is very long now.
Try to speak to junior associates from India (under three years experience ideally) working in NY to get more clarity on these points.

1. In pursuing a Ph.D., one should be able to work independently, with little or no supervision.
2. If you base it on advisor, and in the 5 years that advisor leaves then you'll be in deep s**t.
That said, both of your options are not good. They don't have a research culture. It's your call.

If you are not able to convert your internship/ long term internship it's you who is incompetent and not because of your GLC Tag. There is only one Pseudo Tier One who gives long-term "assesment" internships and absolutely doesn't absorb Non NLU kids and its name is well known to everyone in GLC.
"Here's a thought for @NoahRFeldman : perhaps no state has brought a #genocide case against China at the #ICJ because China's ratification of the Genocide Convention included a reservation stating that it does not accept Art. IX's compromissory clause?"
Also, most of the facts are wrong in the article. One of his students have shown that: https://x.com/AlfoqahaT/status/1762679465564307952?s=20
What would the final verdict be, can anyone please paint an honest picture as to what is happening at the Mumbai office especially?
Would be really helpful to get some insights, thanks!
As someone who worked in Tier 1 and has moved to a WFH set up with different firm. Youβre better off outside the all consuming Tier 1 madness. But letβs address your issues:
WFH is isolating -> true. If youβre living in a big city - join a co working space like We Work - should be less than 10k. If itβs near a financial/ office district the crowd in the office will also be good. As humans are social creatures, itβs important for us to be around people who think like us, and this wonβt happen at home.
Networking - You donβt have a network sitting at home.
Try reaching out to old colleagues. Or better, try going for classes during weekends. In Tier 1 cities, lot of companies organise wine tasting/ coffee making sessions. Even if you have no personal interest in these, attend the sessions, because they invariably attract well to do professionals who have taste. This will a better way to find people at your level.
This is actually better than being locked in the office with same set of colleagues for 12 hours.
Income - not predictable/ ceiling is capped at 80 lakhs.
This issue is bit nuanced and depends on your own financial knowledge.
Since you said you have lot of free time, you can try a side hustle - maybe do consultancy for some startups on the side. Else, use your money wisely to invest so that your corpus increases due to compounding. You can also try investing in early stage startups which can give 10x returns, but depends on your risk appetite. ( this is more difficult to figure out).
Aunty judging you - if you start going to a co working space, you can dress up as if youβre going to office. Will also help get into a routine. Iβm not saying dress up in formals and go to co working space so that aunty gets impressed, but if youβre trying to marry her daughter, dressing up in formals isnβt that bad of an idea. (Or any specific reason you mentioned βaunty with a daughterβ which Iβm missing?)
Growth - More nuanced, but deals with self fulfilment.
Depending on your interests, try volunteering with some NGO. Donβt just donate money, try to actively volunteer your time to helping people who arenβt that privileged. The joy one gets from helping others is something that is very different than buying material things.
If NGO work isn your thing, and you want self fulfilment, try opening your own business/ firm on the side. This is the best time to take a risk. You have a good flow of income, and you have lot of time on your hands. The sheer amount of things you will learn while working in your business, nothing compared to the legal work we do. In fact it might also help you get a new perspective on the legal work you yourself do.
Lastly, all this sounds like great advice, but you have to START somewhere. For lot of us, we only work when someone assigns us work, and we canβt hold ourselves accountable to getting work done. But if youβre a self starter, there is no limit to what you can achieve. So START now. In the beginning it will take to figure out lot of things, but youβll learn how to build something from ground up. Then you wonβt be worried about not having a CAM/ SAM tag.
Iβm only a stranger on the Internet, and I canβt force you to do any of the things Iβve mentioned above. If you do end up starting something or doing something with your life, let us know here.
All the best!
