1. Be kind, respectful and helpful to each other.
2. Be bona fide, truthful, genuine and curious.
3. Assume the best intention of others.

Anyways, internship there isn't a very good experience. All the interns are kept in the basement like 200m away from the main office. Works occasionally comes over call, but everyone is just sitting idle 90% of the time.
Not to mention, the HR lady there has some serious issues
CAT is not worth it at that age. The cohort is mostly filled with young adults. You will have a good experience abroad. ATB.
You should join DSNLU if you are from Vizag or a nearby city and not getting any tier 1/2 law school.
In my view
Tier 1
NLSIU, Nalsar, Nujs, NLU Delhi, Jindal, NLU Jodhpur, NLIU Bhopal, GNLU.
Tier 2
GLC Mumbai, ILS Pune, RGNUL, HNLU, RMLNLU, NUALS, CNLU, Symbiosis, Pune,
He has followers, supporters and friends just as anyone with 5 lakh social media followers would have
did you expect to abuse him for no reason and expect it to fly?
MILI ZARA BATAONNN THEY IMMEDIATELY REJECT MY APPLICATION TOH
I've had all the social and economic privileges but due to my family issues and the constant harassment I had to face as a child, I was restricted in making friends and going out. Now, instead of doing what people do in college, I am doing what people do in school - loving my friends, talking to people, focusing on academics, flirting with people, and just having fun.
Do you get PPO offers from in-house teams/MNCs or is placement only possible to day zero recruitment.
My data has been breached by several companies and has been circulated over Dark Web.
you dont stop making friends after law school thats just a myth that people who dont put effort in propogate. I made my best friends after law school.
all of this is some rationalising for not being your best self everyday. Youre university students- not children. And clat isnt some killer JEE type exam- you didnt really have to work that hard to crack it, just be lucky. And now you have all this opportunity before you and youre gonna leave that on the table to hang out with friends? cause you cant do both for some reason?
Honestly, why do we think they're good? Have they done anything past graduating from llb cohort that would put them in the top doctoral level legal scholars in the country? no? do they branch out and say terribly new and exciting things in their scholarship? also no? I dont bear these guys any ill will- but its clear theyve taken the easy route instead of actually trying to learn new things and pushing themselves.
It's extremely disappointing the way most of the moderation is taking place these days. On average, a comment is taking up to 15+ hours to be moderated. Genuine stuff is getting marked trollish. Comments such as Bump are being approved but not other comments that would be of use to those seeking to know certain stuff. After taking so many new mods, one would expect the moderation speed to be faster but it has been rather slowed down very significantly. People are gonna stop flocking to this site if this continues. Please look into it and ensure faster moderation.
You do absolutely prove your merit and credibility by entering the marketplace and competing and winning in places where there are no benefactors or connections giving you a leg up. Thats the reason academic inbreeding is frowned upon- because its antimeritocratic.
So according to you- all someone has to do to claim lack of privilege is to say they dont have privilege? and no one can question them? all the Brahmins in the country would tell you they dont have privilege- do you believe them? is this some sort of religion for you? these individuals are known well enough for many of us. we've known them since they set foot in nalsar- they dont lack in any kind of privilege.
You will not be awarded or promoted on merit, pure whims
Another case for example was just across the town in IISc. 25 years back it started offering Integrated ME (4-year duration) open for BSc students. This program could never garner the respect that the regular ME (that comes after BE/BTech) that IISc offers. The quality of students never matched up. Eventually, after a few years, IISc discontinued the Integrated ME program. Remember, we are talking of IISc - a much better endowed and much higher in global rankings.
It is well known that the 3-year LLB option is the brainchild of the current VC, so the admin will do everything to make it successful (or at least projecting that way). Once he leaves, it will be orphaned. Mark my words.
I'm appalled that this is considered as "great and valid defences".
Salve embarrassed himself in the SC during EB hearings he did the same in this interview.
You still have time.
Nothing wrong
all thoes self intellectuals dont understand that when we also start importing muslims who themself are radical and persecute Buddhists Christians Hindus in Islamic countries will create communal violence in this country. Just see the recent cases in last few years.
I have already seen them asking for muslim lgbtqs in caa
Like Wtf
Muslims cannot be LGBTQ and LGBTQ cannot be muslims
The interview went well I would say. Answered almost all the technical questions and didnt give wrong answers (if i didnt know any questions which were like 2 or 3 of them out of maybe 10-12, I said that Im not able to recall at the moment).
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks :)
Superb individual
Young hard working dedicated partner with immense potential to make it big in the market
It is high time that the VC resigns and/or the students protest against him. Bring someone of the statute of Faizan Mustafa or any alum of NALSAR as VC to actually build up the faculty recruitment. TBH, we as NALSAR students should wake up and actually organise a protest against the decline of the faculty that is teaching us. Students run any university and tbh that is even the spirit of NALSAR
I think you'll have to start getting more "square" once you're SA and above.
1. Around 20-30
2. No
3. No
4. None, as of now.
5. Difficult to say at this point but should be around 5-10.
6. Firms do prefer students from the 5yr program rather than the 3yr programme. However, that is offset to some extent by admin support from NLSIU who are more accessible to 3year LLB students than the 5Year Programme.
7. Personally, I had done a BA degree before coming to NLS so yes, the employment prospects did increase because you have the option of going into Research Institutes, Litigation, or Judiciary if not corporate placement at the end of this course.
8. Focus on academics as much as possible and intern during the breaks. Don't waste your time over useless moots/ADRs etc.
Good Luck!
Unless youβre doing a handful of international moots- the rest is just fun.
Debates and other competitions - also just for fun. Unless you break at WUDC or something.Donβt make it your whole identity.
Go do good internships in years 1-3 I donβt mean name brand - I mean places where theyβll actually teach you stuff. Donβt coast on the brand. It ainβt all that. Learn stuff youβre interested in on your own.
If youβre in a Tier 1, especially in a big team, you are a cog in the wheel, and your role becomes much more defined and it is hard to break out, but in a smaller set up, your involvement is more hands on, so seniors explain the work properly, and you get to learn and understand the matter lot more.
Also, a checklist for other things that count towards feeling happy at work:
BEING PART OF A TEAM
In your team, are there 2-3 people your age whom you can talk to casually during office hours?
In your team, is there a senior at SA/ PA level whom you consider your mentor and he/she takes time to give you feedback/ lookout for you/ you can approach for feedback ?
In your team, are there too many locals? If yes, they often may not care about being friends with folks from outside the city as they already have their social circle from school (do you ever hang out with them on weekends? Not in office for work, dummy)
Do your seniors encourage you to share your thoughts/ have open lines of communication about the work you do - or are you mostly restricted towards doing templatised work?
WORKLOAD
Is there constant flow of work such that your seniors seem very busy and are unable to take time out to explain things properly even when delegating work to you? Are they on verge of burnout?
Do you have visibility about your own work -as to on which days you have to send out deliverables/ visibility about internal calls, and you are not constantly anxious that out of the blue a senior may staff you without giving any prior intimation or asking about your current workload?
Do you get time off on weekends (maybe not every weekend) such that you think you are able to have a decent balance and do the things you love outside work?
Is this your first job, and thatβs why you canβt compare your experience of working in another firm where things may be a lot better in terms of workload delegation and management?
These are slightly finer issues which your upper management wonβt face/ realise since there are not at the receiving end of their own work culture. What your upper management wants you to have a sense of βownershipβ when they talk about drive. But sometimes the upper management creates such a work culture that it will drive the sense of ownership out of even the most motivated folks. So donβt worry too much about it.
I have assumed that since youβre in Tier 1, your team does not suffer from the usual toxic work culture issues - which are more easily identifiable- like shouting in office, not being professional, not paying salary, not granting leaves etc.
Takeaway - There are better teams out there in the market. You donβt have to shift to a boutique firm to have a better working environment. But you will have to do a lot more research so that your next firm is definitely better than your current one. And hereβs the bummer - people in toxic teams and good teams sometimes use the same words to describe their team culture, so please take reviews from trusted sources.
All the best!
Most of the leading authority is abroad, and I can't afford to go because of family. I have applied for NLS, atleast the institution is no1, if nothing else. Yet I don't care about the institution as much as I care about the advisor. I really want to pursue a reasearch career in IHL, and need this PhD. If anyone could find even one top Indian professor that could help.
Amish is a self made man, has done very well not because of his father but as a top vlogger with arguably the best reach amongst lawyers in India
I am very disheartened to see this disgusting post
Coaching institutes did feed us that picture that only the top NLUs grads make it but now that I have started interning at these places, I can see a lot of graduates from other colleges making it. Some took a year or more but they are here.
What's the point of rushing? You sacrifice your fun days to get that so-called glamorous job, which will make sure that you don't even have a life beyond them. Is it really worth it?
Why not slow down a bit?
Make friends in college. Hangout with them. Propose your crush. Deal with that rejection. Go on that trip you planned in the first year. Have fun. Make memories.
After you get out of this place, anyways you have to work and make a living. This is the last time most of us will experience "friendship." Post college, everyone will be busy making careers. Eventually, they will get married, and obviously this fun will only be a remnant of the past.
Here are my thoughts - hard thoughts:
- Most early stage people are figuring out / do not care. There is lack of respect, organisation, determined approach to learn and passion about the job (most are in it for early money, fame and exits).
- people who do care fall in following categories (capable
I am not a troll. I, infact, gave NLSAT this year 2024 and would love to get a seat at NLS. I think for 3y LLB, there is no other school which can compete with NLS.
But, at the end of the day, we are giving 3y to the school and a campus placement is like a jetpack to the top. I am sure the same tier 1 firms would not even consider people from DU Faculty of Law or other top 3y programs, but, since it is NLS, they might give it a shot.
Please spare me the - come for the legal education, serve the nation, what about human rights etc. thing. I want to come in, because I want to get into a Tier 1 firm and earn money. So, please give out stats as of today and please update it once the placements get over by June 2024.
My questions are as follows - out of the 90 or 120 students which are pursing this course -
1. How many were able to secure T1 internships?
2. Did any of you were able to get into the Magic circle law firms or their India branch (Clifford Chance has opened an office in New Delhi)?
3. Did anyone get the Allen & Overy scholarship?
4. How many have been able to get PPOs in tier 1 firms?
5. How many do you think would be placed in Tier 1 firms in the coming placement season?
6. Basically, I think you are competing with around 1000 Top 5y NLU students. So, are you getting the same level of placement opportunities or the Tier 1 firms favour the 5y BA LLB crowd?
6. Do you think you have meaningful chance to get into Tier 1 firms? What I mean is are you guys being considered equally. Whether one gets selected or not that's a different issue.
7. Overall how was your experience at NLS? Do you feel you have better employment and earning opportunities now?
8. What message will you give to the upcoming 3y LLB batches on what to do to secure better internship opportunities or increase employability?
I wish you all the best and I wish all of you destroy competition in all fields and create a path for the future success of the 3y LLB Batch.

Then there were certain visiting TLC teach (from South india) who taught a semester or two and the entire batches wanted them to stay back.
There will be teachers who can really teach from get go or grow in one. Some are what Bertrand Russel said: those who can't, teach. And that has nothing to do with NLU/TLC.
There will be many others who just get frazzled with teaching in class. But are awesome in one-to-one sessions or even small groups. There are some who can do great doctrinal research but completely out-of-sync with applied research. Some terrible in teaching but absolutely cracking in doing research on "what works".
But I will agree that the entire culture of teaching/research at NUJS has nosedived into a terminal spiral. The faculty members, especially the Noojies cannot escape their share of the blame. Previously, the excuse was "we are not permanent". Now what "VC controls promotions" ? What about the Professors then?
As students, as "consumers" we need to demand and enforce more. For that we cannot be flippant, dismissive and shallow about our demands and executing their enforcement.
