I am a first year LLB student. I want to do an internship in the High Court, is this possible?
Any idea about the salary at an A2 and A3 level?

This thread has some reviews.
Same goes for their IBC practice - itβs almost non-existent!!
Would banning cars from Jindal reduce the risk of such accidents?
Don't worry about the replies OP, it happens. You'll meet more A-holes like this in law school & in the profession. Simply avoid them and toughen up.
Regarding your query, I assume you meant NLIU Bhopal. Well, it definitely is a tier 1 but well below NLS, NLUD, NALSAR, NUJS & maybe at par or below GNLU & NLUJ. Having said that, it's not a bad NLU, there is plenty of opportunities to do well. Sure the higher the NLU tag, the more opportunities you get. However that's absolutely upto your hardwork and networking. If you're interested in litigation, judiciary, civil services or academia, it's fine to continue there. Top NLUs mostly help in corporate placements.
My advice would be to join NLIU, then appear for clat again if you wish. In case you get a better university you can move, albeit you lose a year. If not you can continue at NLIU and you won't be wasting a year.
Whatever your choice, keep in mind beyond the next 5 years, as to where you want to see yourself. All the best.
Format- Firm Name/Position/Salary (fixed+bonus)
For example- Pearson Spector/A0/12LPA(10+2)
Letβs have transparency in pay scales for these big firms and also please only comment if you know the revised pay scale with certainty.
It is mainly the football team that has created the annual practice of celebrating his birthday and remembering him. He is remembered not because he was a senior who passed away, but because you don't see a lot of selfless and loving people like him in the rat race of NLUs these days, the idea is to remember him so that someone somewhere decides to be like him. Rest in power Ritwik Sir!
Al Jazeera like any other media is propaganda channel and many countries and even Arab countries like Egypt has banned them for terrorism support.
Better to ignore these alleged independent journalist and look at ground situation because elections are coming and opposition is gonna cry evm hack like every other election.
If ravish kumar calls himself independent and non biased journalist then Arnab is also non biased journalist. No journalist is non biased nowadays. These same people shut their mouth on sandeshkhali and other incidents which involve hindu victims or supporters who are from BJP which just tells you are biased because a non biased journo would report every incident irrespective of state or party involved
The purpose of this thread is to aid them in finding roommates and sharing information/resources/tips/cautionary tales for first time renters in Mumbai.
You have so many direct and indirect benefits
It also does not mean that the foreign university has done any work to evaluate the curriculum or evaluation standards of these foreign universities. There are hundreds of them - Oxford doesnβt have the time. They might rely on shorthand provided by foreign governments out of respect for those governments - but that alone doesnβt make that decision about merit.
Just because people disagree about which institutions have been chosen to be INIs or IOEs doesnβt mean people donβt see the obvious advantages of obtaining that status or that they donβt think such a classification shouldnβt exist.
To be a lawyer I will need to pass a bar exam- I know itβs a stupid exam that tests very little. I know people cheat on it. I know I would prefer an exam where we actually tested knowing and applying the law rather than the current farce. But that doesnβt mean Iβm not gonna take the bar- that would be stupid.
Actual stats:
15-16 PPOs
22 accepted offers on Day Z
3-4 accepted offers on Day One.
After Day One, people have got placed in companies like Jio Financial Services, GAIL etc that have offered around 18LPA CTC and law firms like Wadia Ghandia that pays around 10-12 LPA.
There are around 10-15 people in the BO'24 who still wants a job and the hiring drive is still going on. I'm sure that everyone who doesn't have a year loss will get a job. People with year loss will find it difficult to get a job in this market.
Thanks in advance π
Generally work of SEBI is growing as there are more listed companies than ever
23 and 24 were super busy years so in the last cycle SEBI took a lot of people- around 30
Only 6% of Indians currently participate in the equity market, buy mutual funds etc
This number is expected to go up to ~36% over 10-20 years as is the norm in developed countries
Also fractional investment in real estate is going to create a huge new market - SEBI chairman says that itself likely to be as big as the entire equity market
If that happens you will need a lot more SEBI law officers. 20-30 appointments every year is not too much to expect honestly. A few years like be down years like this year - don't worry about it. You can attempt multiple times. Just prepare hard thats all

One senior died tragically in an accident. Now we conduct an Essay Writing competition in memory of her. Pranita Mehta Essay Writing Competition.
Wise to take one more attempt at CLAT to get NLS Bangalore if you can.
I am open to considering the academic route. From my point of view, 3 year JD/LLB vs a 3 year phd not much difference in terms of my time investment. But knowing if I could directly apply for phd would be useful ie without a law background. Also would this limit me to academics (as in not being able to advise or practice)?
I wonder why no one has done an exposΓ© on Sreenivasan Jain and his close ties with the congress. Both he and his brother, the lawyer, have solid connections in Congress and these connections were milked rather well when Congress was in power.
What's something I can do as a 4th year, for the remaining of my law school, to be significantly better at this?
Thanks in advance!
Can someone please help me in suggesting the places where freshers are accepted for in-house roles
I'm a fifth year student at a good NLU however I'm really having trouble finding a job this time post Day Z. I did not sit for Day Z because I had decided to prepare for judiciary however there is dire financial conditions in my household. Please help because I am about to graduate in just a month.
Genuine suggestions are appreciated.
Corp, B&F, Cap Marks are paid at par with other remaining teams but their bonus is usually higher across levels.
I've also heard great things about some of the new professors though. Pranav came back to teach for a while, and I'm sure he would've been a brilliant chap at that. Heard similar things about Aakanksha who was swiftly poached by JGLS. Sudhanshu was definitely a decent professor too, though his specialisation was more in capital markets than company law at large; regardless he's also now at NLS.
Last I heard, there are no great professors currently β most of the corporate-related learnings happen through practitioner-led electives, which thankfully have been increasing steadily. So, if you're a fellow alum & can find the time, this would actually be a great time to take courses: we wouldn't be where we are w/o our professors either now, would we?
Ayub's near KalaGhoda, Fort

In one of my good months, I made more than 6L in a single month. Friends of mine found it difficult to switch because no firm could pay as much. The firm had a ton of issues in terms of work culture/pressure but work quality and financial remuneration were unmatched. Base pay is notably lower than Trilegal, AZB, SCAMs etc. but if your team has enough work, you'll be making insane money.
What are law firms such as SAM, CAM, Luthra, NDA, IndusLaw, Dhir & Dhir, Samvad, etc. getting out of these paid internships? Is 10-20k really worth more than their reputation?
As per https://bblabs.in/demo/allahabad_univ/faculty-of-law.php prof. Jai Shankar Singh has published 60 papers
publication is required, get your supervisor to co-author with you, scopus only

Although these deaths are no doubt very sad, you will see that across law school batches past and present there are premature deaths, whether in college or after graduation. Just speak to people from Gen X to Gen Z. Almost everyone has a batchmate who is no more. Some had cancer, some had a heart attack because of work stress, some had COVID, some were in an accident, some took their own life. Even if you look at it mathematically, in a batch of 100 students there is a reasonable chance one person may die before reaching 40/45 years, or even 25 years. Sounds terrible, but itβs perhaps true?
So I was just thinking about these people who left the world too soon. Do you know any of them? Do you remember them? Does your college have medals and competitions in their name? How were they as people? Smart? Funny? Introverted? Troubled? Sad? I mean, we barely even remember COVID! Do we remember our friends who died of it?
Sorry, but just thinking about this a lot today.
> The receiving university (in this case a UK university) would like to accept more students from A because it is an INI and the UK university knows that INI status is given by the GoI to "better" universities.
> The UK university knows that A with 65% from an INI is as good or better than B with 70% from a non-INI
> The UK university believes that the non-INI where B comes from, may also indulge in grade inflation and its scores may not be so reliable.
And finally, as someone commented already, if NLUs loathe the INIs so much then why are they so desperate for the same status?

Bharucha had approached the RCC at my law school in late November last year, looking to hire an Associate for the Practice Development vertical. The remuneration schedule was as follows:
Delhi - 10.2 + 1.
Bangalore - 10.2 + 1.
Mumbai - 12 + 1.
I hope this helps!
Should I aim at armed conflict like career, ICRC etc. should I aim at investigation like criminal law. Should I go for human rights that encompasses everything in one. Serious post ! Not April's fool !
