We want LI to be one of the friendliest places on the internet, where lawyers and law students help each other with their career related queries and occasionally discuss other stuff that might affect their lives too. In other words:
1. Be kind, respectful and helpful to each other.
2. Be bona fide, truthful, genuine and curious.
3. Assume the best intention of others.

Almost nil chances because BLR office is the smallest of the 3.
1. The individual initiative: Each faculty member is individually deciding to inflate grades. Why would they do that? The same faculty teach both programs and that includes faculty who were here before Sudhir joined, those who came after, those who are alum of the 5 Yr program and those who are not. Why would they individually converge on the same policy that does not benefit them in any way?
2. The grand conspiracy: this is all orchestrated from the top, possibly by Sudhir himself, and all the faculty are not only in on the conspiracy, but also on keeping it secret. Again, why would such a disparate bunch of people, many of whom don't like Sudhir and otherwise openly criticise him, comply?
3. The nothingburger: There is no grade inflation. It's a claim that has never been proved, just asserted. Just as butt hurt men claim that any woman who succeeds does so by sleeping her way to the top, so also some butthurt 5yrs are creating this narrative to put down people that they think are less deserving than them.
Which scenario is most likely?
I don't know if faculty are grade inflating. I do know that they are failing to teach basic logic and humanity to their students. Maybe we should be talking about that instead.
Get something cheap, small and easy to carry around.
I got the most expensive one on my turn, and ended up wasting time I shouldn't have.
Take it easy, work like your life doesn't depend on it, and odds are that you'll do better than with the pressure of this being the ultimate do or die opportunity, or a second life, or whatever other ridiculous exaggeration you have in your head.
I believe it pretty much ends the discussion
So leaders in applying/ enforcing a thought. I’m sure you can now figure out the Hindi translation for this.
Thanksssssss fam !!!!
If out of batch size 90, 35 are gone, then who exactly is left? Bar 2-3 students, it'll be those in the low 4s and 3s in terms of CGPA. Will being in NLS be enough of a reason to overlook mediocre performance? Doubtful. Guess we'll see.
Also, is CAM Competition (Avaantika K) on the move to either KCO / Tri? Anyone?
Bikash Jhawar - Rockstar practice leader
Satadru Goswami - Chill dude with good work
Vivek Pareek - Decent M&A + PE work
Rohan Shah - Chill dude with steady work
Abir Lal Dey - Volume work with lean team
Nothing wrong in using connections but please don't place yourself on pedestal before even starting.
NALSAR is the only T1 mentioned in the above list. Are there any others? How has it worked in your college? Pls share experiences
Thanks in advance!
Nothing weird about it; just give your best!
More importantly, 3 of the 8 Indus >> CAM partners are 2015 and 2016 graduates. This will certainly disturb existing structure at CAM as CAM is yet to make those PQE lawyers as partners.
Don't know where you're getting your facts from but rest assured that undercutting is not how we sustain ourselves with less work when our associates say enough. And for chrissake let's not bundle us with the rest of the lot.
Idk what the definition of T1 is these days because the said T2 practice managing to match your money, your filing numbers and for chrissake being poles apart from your culture is a win anyday.
No smoke without fire.
What is the salary being offered at Day Z?
I think ram should leave. Azb doesn't deserve any of its partners. Ram, BB, Hemangini and Toshit - all of them are too good for azb.
They should Axiom5.
Secondly CSS will quickly realise that they have too many people already under YA and ML has taken his whole team with so many freshers and A1/ A2s, something not required in the least at CAM. There could be firing? but that is usual in ECM. Not able to keep up margins, the recently promoted partners may be asked to leave slowly, till momentum is reached. ECM was never an efficient practice anyway though, but having ML is different. Coupled with a high profit per partner firm like CAM, this is a win for CSS. But surely CSS will have to concede equity to ML and other probably, will have to assess dynamics.
Undoubtedly now, this leaves CAM to be a Tier 1 (unfortunately) practice in ECM, they were already doing very well in PF, B&F and GC with heavyweights like LV and the others. ML will now truly be a tier 1 firm heavyweight, and not just a star practice in a tier 2 firm. Firms like S&R have died down in ECM , doing just a few mandates, deteriorating numbers considerably, this can be due to their extremely bureaucratic structure and hard to gel with people. CAM already has billion dollar IPO mandates for next year for Uber Level companies, ML addition will only add several more. CAM can now negotiate better costs with clients, have more bargaining power in the listed market. Possibly internally, atleast the ECM practice would be one with good culture considering ML will run a tight knit team as he ran at Indus, and micromanage affairs. CAM would undoubtedly attract more talent now considering the good culture and already decent tier 1 pay. I just hope CSS doesnt crush this down as he likes to do.

Forgive me mate, but frankly, if you aren't working in a swanky foreign law firm, you don't have all that much to say for yourself. I was in London a couple of months ago, met some folks for dinner there (two families, who me and my people are friendly with). However, the two families we met in London (let us call them Family A and Family B) hadn't met each other. Both families comprise a middle-aged couple and, in the case of Family A, their daughter, who works at an American firm in London (she studied law in Britain). When one of the members of Family B asked the woman in Family A 'What does your daughter do?', she replied, 'My daughter works for [Firm X]'. As the brand value of Firm X is quite significant, the mother, upon learning that the man from Family B hadn't heard of firm X, was able to raise her eyebrows and shame him quite effectively, by getting him to do a Google search and dig up the firm's Wikipedia page. Unfortunately, that is very hard to do with the kinds of firms we think are swanky in the Indian context.
