1. Be kind, respectful and helpful to each other.
2. Be bona fide, truthful, genuine and curious.
3. Assume the best intention of others.

both genders have different strengths which are of equal importance and its about time we embrace that fact

I rest my case.
Clat 2020 was such a bs exam. I saw so many kids from a certain area/ coaching class get the top ranks and irl they don't even make the cut. Some don't even know how to speak properly. I just don't understand how people allowed it to float away. The last minute change in pattern, mode and messed up centres that aren't even competent to conduct an online exam. On top of it multiple COVID restrictions on candidates selectively. Which exam is even legit at this point?
People like you need to understand something. The I in LGBTQIA+ is specifically meant for intersex people. We need to show such people empathy and include them in sport, rather than exclude them. Remember that they were born this way, it’s not their choice. This happens a lot in poor and underdeveloped countries, where doctors and society are not properly trained in LGBTQIA+ issues, and so classify people as male or female, instead of non-binary.
The solution is to allow non-binary people to compete in the category of their choice. In this case, it’s female and that’s fine. At most, a certain handicap to the opponent may be given where the person is physically much stronger. For example, Caitlin Jenner was a champion runner in the male category, before she came out as trans and had gender reassignment surgery. Suppose she came out earlier and wanted to compete as a woman. She should have been allowed, but a handicap of 1 second or so could have been given to her opponents (which is a lot in running). Similarly, Kheluf’s opponents can be given a handicap in terms of blows landed.
The IOA has taken a progressive step and needs to be applauded rather than criticised. I must also say that I was not pleased with the attitude of the Italian girl. She should not have humiliated Khelif in public, given the violence and trauma non-binary people face. There is also nothing in the video to show that she was badly hurt: no bruises, no blood. No confirmation that her nose broken. I’m sorry, but I doubt the bona fides of her withdrawal.
Another explanation could be that the pro-reservationists of LI (who are the overwhelming majority) were upset at my statement that caste, EWS and domicile quotas make NLUs LESS elitist and DEFEAT Chandrachud’s argument of NLUs being elite. They probably think that NLUs are elitist despite reservation, because of the curriculum.
A bit of both, then?
If you want that to change- you are better off asking your university why they arent teaching you things that make you competitive in the market and capable of doing a law job. It wont do to try and guilt NLU kids by saying theyre privileged and rich. Many of them arent rich, and knowing SCC Online isnt a privilege one is born with- its a skill one can learn.
Economists largely use R and Stata for econometric research. No economist from whatever random university is accusing others of elitism and class privilege because they know how to use R and Stata- the tools of the trade.
The point is to look up chambers and start cold mailing. Some might reply, many won't. Pay would be poor and work hours would be dreadful, usually 7 days a week. Yet, if you do want it, go ahead. Good luck!
I also didnt say anything about whether NLU students would be better professionals than students from other colleges.
I said two simple things. They passed an exam you didnt- however poor that exam is. And their university has mandatory attendance, difficult exams and steep grading. These two things put together mean more than all the internships done year round where youve learned nothing and followed someone around and bought them tea and done their laundry. They tell employers that they can expect a minimum basic thing from NLU graduates. They will turn up for work consistently, and they will at bare minimum- know the basics of legal research and writing.
If you want to end NLU elitism- convince your university to enforce attendance, and to make exams tougher and grading steeper. It really is as simple as that.
Imane Khelif is not transgender. There is no gender identity involved in this case. There is no testosterone suppression, there is no gender reassignment of any sort. Imane Khelif has failed a sex test that was not a testosterone test. It was a chromosomal test. Imane Khelif has XY chromosomes. It is probable Imane Khelif has a disorder of sexual development (Intersex condition) called alpha 5 reductase deficiency. What this means is that his body doesnt absorb testosterone as a normal mans does. That does not make Imane Khelif less of a man. ▮▮▮ disorder specifically happens only to people with XY chromosomes- males. It does not happens to females- xx chromosomes This is also what Caster Semanya has. These men knew at the onset of puberty that they were male. they might have had underdeveloped genetalia at birth which is when ignorant doctors assign female at birth- but they are not actually female. They are fully male. and they knew they are fully male when they signed up to compete against females. They can on occassion impregnate women and reproduce.
Imane Khelif had been twice before disqualified from participating in womens sport ▮▮▮ . the Olympics committee decided that the appropriate test was what was on your passport. If the laws in your country allow you to lie on your passport- then womens sport will not mean a thing.
Males and Females are built different. I know that hurts are egalitarian sentiments- but you cannot argue with nature. Males typically are larger, stronger, faster. If a man and a woman weigh the same- the man will have 152% more punching power. Not to mention longer arms, bigger heart size, quicker reflexes, bigger lung size and more muscle mass. It is simply unfair to women to make them compete with men. Anyone who actually watched the match without ideologically blinked glasses, who saw fallon fox brutalise a woman can see that thats true.
Women shouldnt have to face death every time they want to compete in combat sports. Women will opt out if that is the choice.
Sex segregated sports exists for this reason- to allow for fair competition rather than to exclude a tiny minority who no one knew about ten years ago. Not everything in the world is about your pet cause. Segregating sex in sport is about protecting women.
Just because males with DSDs or transgender identified males are excluded from womens sport doesnt mean they are excluded from sport or that the women outraged by this are all bigots. People with DSDs and transgender identities who are male are welcome to compete in open categories or in male categories. Inclusion cannot be such an overarching value that it trumps fairness or equality. There are limits to inclusion.
If Imane Khelif and what happened today because of this ▮▮▮ in womens sport is any indication, one can only imagine that fully intact developed males claiming they are women because of some "internally felt sense of womanhood" would and should face much more backlash. Its not fair. Women matter, their safety and their opportunities matter. The world isnt divided into males and everyone else. Women exist. Females exist as an entirely independent category.
If you saw a man beat up a woman today and didnt feel revulsion- if you thought it was no big deal, or if you dismissed it as right wing agenda- you need to take a good hard look at what your values are and ask yourself just how much of a blind eye are you willing to turn to womens rights to please males.
This went to the court. How many get abandoned or "settled"?
NLUD won't get you placements, it does not have established alumni base + it is highly toxic
Even GNLU is better than NLUD
Thanks a lot!!! Truly grateful!!!
And all this lack of money is an excuse for your incompetence. I too was poor, living in a t-2 city with my father earning 25K PM in a family of 4 with me and younger brother. I didn't take any coaching studied on my own, got into a T-1 NLU after failing to get any NLU once, got means based scholarship and took a loan to fund my studies. Toiled for 5 years, and got a PPO at a tier-1. During internships in Delhi, I used to stay with some relative or other to save costs and skipped lunches because I couldn't afford them then.
And I am not the only one to do this, there are far many who might me poorer than me, but they all worked hard and didn't not make hue and cry.
Please name the firm tho. Sounds ljke SAM.
I graduated in July 2024. What should my subject line be—an assessment internship application or an associate trainee application if I haven't interned before in the firm?
[If you can name more than 10 firms, I will be very grateful.]
If you are so concerned about classrooms, alright, lock them up if you must (even universities abroad do that). In my view, a much more effective and ethical way than using cameras of persuading students not to use these spaces for lovemaking after hours is to explain that laws around occupiers' liability wouldn't apply to them, as they would be (i) either trespassers, as they had permission to be there for only a certain number of hours; or (ii) not using the infra for its intended purpose, meaning that if anything happened to them (somebody broke a kneecap falling downstairs or something), admin wouldn't take any responsibility.
Your way of thinking, if put into practical operation, would just result in a uni admin tilting at windmills.
Heard some chatter that the bands are getting revised by 30%. Any leads on confirmation and letters?
Looks like they reconsidered.
And no firm is willing to teach an A0 how to use Manupatra/SCC or some other specialised platform while paying 15+ LPA to them.
Idk if I will make it, but so far I have had the smoothest application process for any firm or chamber Internship.
here is hoping tom goes well :)
Got into NLU Sonepat but regretting it to the core, what should i do
Only 2 washrooms for 20 girls that to very dirty, no management, feeling very disappointed
Someone pls suggest something
My advice here would be to speak to your Partner or any SA/PA in your team(if you share a good rapport with them), explain them your situation and ask if they can refer you to anyone they know in Bangalore transactions teams. Also, be open to starting from the entry level cuz your experience will most likely be discounted. Good luck!
I really like the (mistakenly classified as) trollish comment above saying that unlike the brain, the stomach actually alerts you when it is empty; I think this applies perfectly to you.
