We want LI to be one of the friendliest places on the internet, where lawyers and law students help each other with their career related queries and occasionally discuss other stuff that might affect their lives too. In other words:
1. Be kind, respectful and helpful to each other.
2. Be bona fide, truthful, genuine and curious.
3. Assume the best intention of others.

Office is so so.
Pay is not more than 25k for 3 years experience.
They don't pay interns until i interned in 2024 August.
Kudrat ka niyam. Rule of nature. Good luck!
you should try litigation, more better than sucking BnF
So far as "doing everything", from what I have learnt from Delhi circles, the condition is better, since in Delhi circles you are paid on similar lines and you do "everything". However, not everyone in Delhi permits you to take personal work while remaining associated with the office. In contrast, in Allahabad, with higher pay you are required to justify it by being diligent in drafting, arguments and dealing with clients, but at the same time I haven't come across a single chamber refusing its juniors to take personal matters.
I have a offer from tier 2 firm as an associate and a offer of paralegal from a tier 1 firm.
Note paralegal is paid but considering the amount i less which i am getting in tier 2.
What to choose.
Once foreign accountancy firms came in the entire market changed. Until a market is monopolised by Indian forces which work on the mentality of exploitation, it can never prosper for the workers, only for the employers.
Having read the A.K Balaji judgement and the Advocates Act, I have come to the conclusion that the Act has to be amended for foreign firms to be allowed to- no way around it.
As I understood the Modi government is for that. How do we as lawyers reach out to the BCI to expedite this process? The Delhi high court writ will also be rendered infructious once the act is amended.
Genuinely looking for answers. Corp lawyers as a group are very complacent. Letβs do something about our own futures please.
NLU iz wanksta. π«£
it seems to be quite reasonable that when they do more funded projects, they will have less time to publish?
Used to have a good book with constant work, even through covid.
But one of his capable juniors moved to 3L recently, and it really impacted his work flow apparently.
So is it normal or I just improved my application in final year, did I miss anything by not interning earlier ?

Now, Iβve started as a trainee at a boutique law firm in their corporate advisory team (earning 15k/month), but I want to move to a Tier 1 or Tier 2 law firm. What can be my roadmap?
Iβm ready to work hard, I know it sounds cliche, but I really mean it.

any interesting story you wanna share.
But letβs not be catty about such things. The fact is that rich guys and nepo kids can marry and date whoever they want. Happens all over the world. People criticising are merely jealous that they donβt have the same wealth and social position as them! Else they too would have followed the same trajectory: LLB from GLC or Jindal; then LLM from NY or London; then join dadβs practice; then date and marry a stunner!
This is a good team & they have done well at IndusLaw
Arun & Deepak set up the practice ground up, built a good team with zero attrition in the team, and the whole team is fun to work with & is good at what they do
Have they increased the band now for A0?
One-night stands --- extremely common and with some people even the norm.
Welcome to capitalism, where morals don't count for anything. When females are valued purely for their looks and where the female body is seen as a form of currency.
my money is on the couple
The only exposure I get in the name of B&F is the few cases we have before the DRT.
Today I did my first therapy session. I have few things to share and say regarding that experience. That I have been officially diagnosed with depression due to trauma that I have went during my working tenure with firm no
This post is for all the SA and PA working in t-1. thank you for giving me such a traumatic experience. That I have to go through therapy .
From the bottom of my heart I have one wish that time and destiny bless you with the same trauma in future.
How hard is it to make the move? Will it be easy to transfer the skillsets?
The District Court website link just NEVER works.

I will finish my degree by 2 years. Before entering the job market , atleast once in my life I wish to experience a great college life where I can learn, study properly, get involved in various extracurriculars (without politics), be with a great crowd, and if possible get some placements.
Hence, please suggest me some good colleges for an LLM or BCL , India or Abroad.
Note: If my criterion seems too much, I humbly apologize to all
Coming from a middle-class family, sustaining myself in Mumbai is challenging. I'm torn between switching jobs for better financial prospects and gaining experience as my current pqe is less than a year (8 months)
Thanks in advance
If you continue to be this nasty, maybe one of these days, somebody who doesn't have compunctions about responding to rudeness with rudeness will actually respond to you in a way that is proportionate, and that response may include a phrase like "I hope you will die in prison". Would you like that?
Unless your university has a specific tie-up for a JD (not the dual degree stuff), I am not sure it will work.
It's high time these parties in the name of fests stop. NCB should raid all colleges/universities and set an example
Sorry to break it to you, but the process will be rigged, just like last time. The candidate has already been zeroed in on and a sham selection process will happen.
Law firms do need to focus more on mental health, stop over promising to clients and try for a semblance of work life balance. And seniors need to stop yelling at juniors or being aggressive for the smallest of things.
I do not know if the death of this associate a mere 10 days after he left a high performing overburdened always busy corporate team in a law firm is connected. What I know is that he left because it was getting too much for him. Whether that was because he had other personal issues or if work culture alone contributed is mere speculation.
To headline the loss of life with such indifference is saddening.
Expect a starting salary of 12/13L +bonus
Will be able to share some thoughts to regarding how removed it is from B&F
