1. Be kind, respectful and helpful to each other.

Significant litigation by both teams. They don't hire freshers though. Pay is well as the associates left LKS and shifted to lumiere.
This issue isnt partisan. Both the left and the right should want a supreme court that is not beholden to the government of the day. One day the BJP might lose elections again- would you be happy then if judges engaged in similar corruption by passing pro-congress decisions hoping to get post retirement jobs? This issue is only about preserving the constitution and the independence of the judiciary and I dont know who in their right mind could oppose it. Why do you like corruption?
As for the 'institutional preference' question, both law and medicine are professional degrees. Distinction between PG medical courses and other professional postgraduate degrees is an artificial and silly one and things should not be thought about at all like this. All best wishes to Sudhir and team for this new direction.
Happens very often with Chinese, Japanese, South Korean and Taiwanese clients. Anyway, it's a minor inconvenience
I am a final-year law student graduating soon and looking to join a chamber in commercial disputes in Mumbai. I am particularly interested in arbitration, insolvency, contractual disputes, and company law matters. Keen on working with seniors actively arguing before the Bombay High Court and NCLT. Open to both established and upcoming chambers, especially those providing good exposure to drafting, strategy discussions, and court appearances. If you have any leads, suggestions or personal experiences, or can connect me with someone, please drop a comment.
yours faithfully,
A3
He quotes abysmal rates to clients to keep generating work and outsources cheap mandates to other partners. Further, there is no scope of anyone else to grow. A person gets a client to AZB (Bom), they will be quoted sky-high rates, so much that the client will leave and the lawyer bringing the client will also be left shamefaced. Whereas existing bigshots (Ashwath et all) will bring mandates at rate cheaper than KCO, and no one will bat any eyelid.
Further the existing SAs, Counsels, Associates will be fed classist bullsh** that you're better than every firm in the market because yo do quality work not quantity based work. I mean anyone can see the VDDRs prepared by AZB (Del or Bom). Horrendous.
Kisi tarah dukaan chal rahi hai. Kab kya ho jaaye pata nahi.
Getting sick of this.

You cannot "start your career as filing lawyer in SC". Being an AOR requires at least 5 years' experience. Secondly, an AOR is not supposed to be a mere rubber-stamp. Unfortunately, there are some into such practice, but that practice is frankly looked down upon.
You can still argue in whichever forum, so why your question assumes a dichotomy between arguing in HC/District Courts or simply filing in SC is beyond my comprehension. These things are not mutually exclusive. And you also miss out on another possibility: argue in SC!
Irrespective of all of the above, none of these are the reasons for the "AOR concept" to be abolished. It does not exist to create a "charm" as your post presupposes. The reasons for the AOR system to be there continue to exist as on today.
The SBA didn't mince words in a strongly worded communiqué to the S.B., branding the attendance policy “draconian.”
Young lawyers should prefer to argue in HC and District Courts or start career as filing lawyer in SC ?
Debate open
Can somebody guide me about nls and can I have a career in law more specifically through nls llb
I have filled MHCET law but am unsure if I should pursue law as a career. Even GLC Mumbai (the topmost college of MHCET) has zero college life and have no idea of what to expect from law as a career (first gen).
Sure about that I don't want to go for corporate (if I had interest then I would have gone for IPMAT or JEE or would have considered law seriously and would have not missed CLAT) but into public policy or litigation or judiciary (have not much idea about it and only DJS seems to be the right option as delhi rewards you for being in the government services+ Rohini is miles better than Begulsarai or Nanded)
Should I give CET law and go for 5 year? Or go for a english/polsci/zoology/biological science/liberal arts degree in DU/IISER/Ashoka or any UG for that matter and then write the NLSAT and DU LLB exam? Can we go for law abroad in the commonwealth countries or in the US?
Or if we go for a LLM after LLB (3 year) then? A girl from NLSIU (3 year) ended up in Oxford and she was a LSR grad in polsci. So something like that-might help in practising in the courts?
And even if I decide to go for corporate (which I am sure I won't) then will I have the option? Please help.

and then figure out in which Indian city you can drive around in one.
Personally, I'd go for a Mustang or a Dodge Charger.
Breakout, sure. Practice areas? Lol.
Could you please suggest law firms to join in Mumbai for disputes resolution ?
Having civil , criminal and original side work?
Also if any firm is actively recruiting
our paper had been selected to be presented at the conference.
then these people took over 1K each from me and my co-author for registration (fair enough ig)
after this we got a mail saying that accommodation, despite the crazy reg fee, would not be provided to us. If we need accommodation we would have to pay 1000 PER PERSON PER NIGHT.
am i being crazy or is this unreasonable? most conferences i feel have the decency to provide free acco to their participants. lmk guys
Pay differs, depending on your university. They offered us 16.5 LPA packages, which is genuinely good for Kolkata, but I doubt they shell out anywhere as much for non-NLU grads.
Work-life balance may be slightly better than Delhi/Mumbai based law firms (although Saturdays are working), but again, comes at a cost to learning and professionalism.
If you're culturally very much Bengali, have a place to stay in Kolkata, and not very ambitious right away, F&M may be the place for you. If not, then seek opportunities elsewhere.

There is also the Adani factor with respect to legal sector liberalisation. IYKYK.
I am planning to switch to either GC or TMT. Any suggestions?
If you are from top notch college or foreign LLM ( Band 1) then only touchstone may hire.
They have Ox and Cam grads filled with laurels.
