You all have experienced the realities of the profession. The draft has no provision such as for protecting Advocates or action against brutality against Advocates. What do Advocates get instead? A slap in the face in form of S. 45B.
On one hand, the definition of legal practitioners is being extended. A long standing demand, finally fulfilelled. But no one should be happy, right? Including those in law firms
They cannot keep the legal market regulated. What do law firms get? A punch to the gut in form of Foreign Advocates AND FIRMS entering the market. It is not about mere competition. The Bill is a systematic culling of the profession.
