I have a drop year, I was a med reject (sorry but saying it bluntly) thanks to the NEET scam (had a 642 out of 720 which is definitely good but not for this year). My interest towards med has dwindled and I have had a interest in public policy and polsci including law.

I have filled MHCET law but am unsure if I should pursue law as a career. Even GLC Mumbai (the topmost college of MHCET) has zero college life and have no idea of what to expect from law as a career (first gen).

Sure about that I don't want to go for corporate (if I had interest then I would have gone for IPMAT or JEE or would have considered law seriously and would have not missed CLAT) but into public policy or litigation or judiciary (have not much idea about it and only DJS seems to be the right option as delhi rewards you for being in the government services+ Rohini is miles better than Begulsarai or Nanded)

Should I give CET law and go for 5 year? Or go for a english/polsci/zoology/biological science/liberal arts degree in DU/IISER/Ashoka or any UG for that matter and then write the NLSAT and DU LLB exam? Can we go for law abroad in the commonwealth countries or in the US?

Or if we go for a LLM after LLB (3 year) then? A girl from NLSIU (3 year) ended up in Oxford and she was a LSR grad in polsci. So something like that-might help in practising in the courts?

And even if I decide to go for corporate (which I am sure I won't) then will I have the option? Please help.

bro in law, anything except corpp law( law firm) have immense struggle. due high nepotism unlike medical if someone struggle through UG, PG and PG/MS one can really have a decent or excellent career depending on skill. alternative of corp is litigation, research, academia and policy. In litigtaion getting good chamber and salary is very difficult if your are not from influential family( nepo) or tier1 ( that too also serves as connection). avg salary in delhi chamber are 20-25k if one find a decent senior or chamber (No fix working hour even on sunday). in policy few centre are good but they take it from top college provided if one has good writingskills

You have too many things on your mind, dear fellow. You need to cut the clutter first. If you are looking to join a good under-graduate programme in social sciences, you have NLSIU, the usual suspects in DU North Campus, TISS Hyderabad, Ashoka. There are other good options like Jindal, SNU, etc. but who are also over-priced (my view) for what they offer. Better alternatives are available which do not require that much money at the cost of greater competition. But (fair) competition is nothing to run away from. Also, a pro-tip, do not compare yourself with another person. Never. You mentioned the student who was recently awarded a scholarship. Good for her. But do not blindly rely on her and others’ academic/professional journey to dictate your own. You are on your own time and your own path. Learn from others but do not strive to become like them. Become your own person (yes, the cliché is true). Figure out what you want and what you absolutely do not want. Then decide four or five places where you can go and do what you want, meet interesting folks, work diligently and scrupulously, and you will have a good career and a clean conscience before you know it.
