Bro, itโs the traditional dress of Muslim women to cover their head, whereas Christmas is in winter and itโs too cold to wear such clothes.
google did what it does best, fold
perhaps LI can host its own table, like rollonfriday does, could it be made editable by users
The problem isn't that they liked The Eagles, Ishiguro or The Manchurian Candidate ( I have never even heard of any of these other than ishiguro) Like whatever you want. The problem is treating familiarity with those things as evidence of some superior intellectual/cultural environment, while casually presenting Bollywood, Punjabi hip-hop, K-pop etc. as the stuff that โwasn't there" while also weirdly looking down on them
And honestly, why is โGautam Bhatia reviewed George RR Martin!! โ being presented like some civilisation-defining intellectual achievement? At least Modi vs Rahul, reservation, Israel-Palestine etc, CJP are consequential political questions affecting millions of people and it should be discussed , if u are an Indian . You can criticise the quality of those debates, obviously, but discussing them isn't inherently less sophisticated than arguing about Game of Thrones or whatever the current epitome of sophisticated TV viewing experience is.
Thereโs also a weird superior hierarchy underneath the comment: Western literature + Western music + Western cinema = cultured/elite; Indian popular culture = conspicuously absent; contemporary political conflicts = culture-war noise, and dehati low quality ( I have grown up on bollywood, tollywood films and on bollywood music)
That's precisely the mentality that should be dissected more
You don't have to like Bollywood or Punjabi music. You don't have to like Modi vs Rahul debates. But if the blatant absence and disregard of Indian mass culture is evidence that a student magazine was elite and sophisticated and the presence of Western cultural references is evidence that it was intellectually superior, then you're basically reproducing the same elite cultural hierarchy you're supposedly just observing. God how will u try to relate to the greater population of India by discussing about these great cultural icons of the West , the same reason bjp is still chosen by most is because the Congress became this vassal of elitists with Western taste and western ideas ( which even though more secular and modern) just does not resonate with the masses
Being cosmopolitan is great. Treating Western cultural capital as inherently more sophisticated is not cosmopolitanism; it's just another form of cultural snobbery .

Our Managing Partner is definitely SANe.
1. Excellent and well-thought articles, poems and reviews. The students really made an effort. Even making a crossword. No ChatGPT back then, so they must have made the crossword manually. Wow!
2. Westernised and elite taste in books, films and music. Bands like the Eagles and the Who, classic films like the Manchurian Candidate and Trainspotting, authors like Kazuo Ishiguro. No discussion of Bollywood movies, Chetan Bhagat books, Punjabi hip hop, KPop etc. You can tell that the student profile then was quite elite (law aspirants were mostly from big cities and also less reservation those days)
3. Gautam Bhatia frikkin' reviewed George RR Martin!! ๐ฎ These people knew about GoT back then!! Holy F!!
4. Someone wrote a poem called FUCK 377. Pretty progressive.
5. The one thing I found strongly missing are the political and culture war issues that preoccupy law students today: Modi v Rahul, Israel v Palestine, caste reservation, etc. Or maybe I just saw the wrong issues?

Thanks in advance!
I did a couple of call backs too, but nothing really worked out. It's been 3 months since graduation, and I'm here at my room, without any improvements. I tried hard, stayed diligent. I thought I was enough, turns out I never was.
Whenever I speak about doing stuff professionally, my mom shuts me up saying you only say things verbally and won't do it. My father is very silent and he also thinks I'm a loser, he just don't say it to me. They supported me all throughout, and nothing to blame them. Idk what to do now.
i have enough time to focus on myself but on parallel - i really want some genuine advice on where and when i should make that next step.
When did you switch to law firm / in house? What factors did you took into account? What's your current PQE? Where did you initially started your career at?
If you could answer these, I can atleast make a small corner of this massive jigsaw Puzzle infront me rn - which is have no clue about. Or, whatever path or say personal experience you can share which were a countering factor to make these switches and all.
Thanks
If you are a fresher or an early-career lawyer considering Agama Law Associates, please do your homework before accepting an offer. The following is a compilation of concerns and experiences that have been reported by people associated with the firm. These points are shared so that prospective applicants can make an informed decision.
- Corporate and litigation are completely separate teams: the corporate practice operates from Powai, while litigation operates from Nariman.
- Compensation is a major concern: freshers are reportedly hired at the Associate Trainee level at approximately โน25,000โโน30,000 per month. The 12-month traineeship reportedly comes without any bonus eligibility.
- Retention after traineeship appears uncertain: after one year, trainees may either be asked to leave or, if retained, move to approximately โน45,000 per month. There is reportedly no guaranteed fixed bonus.
- Bonus is minimal: the Diwali bonus is reportedly around โน15,000โโน30,000โmeaning that even after a full year, it may not amount to one monthโs salary.
- Limited conversion of trainees: there are concerns that the firm relies heavily on external recruitment and cross-hiring rather than converting its own trainees into long-term associates.
- Internships are reportedly unpaid.
- Work-life balance is poor: there are reportedly only 22 leaves a year, with Saturdays being working days. Taking leaveโparticularly around long weekends or travelโcan reportedly invite direct questioning from partners.
- Micromanagement is a serious concern: work is closely monitored, and trainees are reportedly required to attend early-morning matter-update sessions on multiple days each week, sometimes around 9:00 a.m., which can interfere with existing deliverables.
- Salary progression is slow: if the reported โน45,000 salary continues through the second year and the subsequent hike is capped around 20%, an associate could reportedly be at only approximately โน54,000 per month by the third year of PQE, before deductions such as TDS.
- โฎโฎโฎ-
- Time entries are reportedly altered: there are concerns that billable hours entered by associates may be reduced by senior management, potentially presenting to clients that work was completed in less time and at a lower cost than actually recorded.
- โฎโฎโฎ
- Capital markets exposure is limited: if your objective is to build a serious capital-markets practice, note that the firmโs work is reportedly concentrated largely around SME IPOs. Do not assume that joining will automatically provide broad exposure to mainboard IPOs or sophisticated capital-markets transactions.
- Mandatory events can come at a cost: employees have reportedly faced salary deductions for not attending firm events, including events scheduled on Sundays.
- โฎโฎ
- Promotion reviews can be particularly discouraging: employees have reported that promotion discussions can become highly technical, with minor mistakes being disproportionately highlighted and overall competence questioned. The perception among some employees is that these reviews are used to justify delaying promotions or limiting compensation increases.
- Leave culture is reportedly inconsistent: there are allegations that senior personnel take multiple international holidays while associates continue working, and that leave requests may be difficult to obtain. Employees have also reported being placed on demanding matters immediately before planned vacations, resulting in work spilling into their leave.
- โฎโฎโฎ
- Even basic workplace amenities may disappoint: employees have reportedly been expected to use milk powder rather than fresh milk for tea/coffee.
- โฎโฎโฎ
- Offsites are reportedly far from relaxing: employees have described long sessions involving personal disclosures, mandatory early-morning activities such as 6 a.m. yoga, and limited recreational activities. There are also allegations that employees are expected to bear various expenses themselves.
- Particularly concerning are allegations surrounding offsite โface-readingโ sessions: it has been alleged that face readers have been brought to offsites and that partners have personally discussed individual employees and their perceived potential with them. Prospective employees should consider whether such practices are consistent with their expectations of workplace privacy and professionalism.

Avoid if you can. Else work with the diplomat.
I have received an internship in AZB & Partners for one month (June, 2027). I am currently in my 4th year and wanted to know whether it is possible to get a PPO only through 1 internship.

Hoping the Sword of ELP will save us all from oblivion!
No increments, no bonuses for Partners, no equity till date. The so-called profit distribution that was promised has not been paid for the last 3 years. If equity partnes didnt get it, then who got it?
This so-called "most professionally run firm" is a complete facade. It is a blessing in disguise that they are not coming for Day Zero recruitments. We are told by insiders that donโt even think of joining it.
By sheer dumb luck, a neighbor (CS) helped me get a job at the consultancy firm (T2/3 city) she works in, run by an LLB CS guy. Very kind man. Decent work (tho kinda confused if the work Iโm doing is for a CS or a lawyer). shit pay (5k). Started this week. Been following LI for a while ever since started seeing some light, and so I thought litigation was the only way out of this rot (afraid canโt give exams now). So now idk which route to take. Heart says corp because known waters. But climb sounds steep and frankly, uncertain.
Which brings me to my ques. Does some vestige of NLU privilege still lie in my CV/career, to be salvaged in the near future? Or have I positively blown it all up? should I just go w lit? Where do chances of me making it lie more?
If anyone has appeared for this test, could you please let me know what kind of questions they ask, how I can prepare for it, and what score is generally required to move to the next stage?
Any guidance would be really helpful. Thanks!
Nice perks of covering legal snobs all day everyday.
Somewhere between all those conversations, I fell in love with you.
We talked about our future, made little plans, imagined what it would be like when we finally meet, what we would do, where we would go, and all those small things that maybe looked silly to someone else but meant so much to me. I started seeing you in my future without even trying.
Then you told me that you needed some space because of your personal issues. I understood. I didn't want to pressure you, so I gave you the space you asked for. I waited, thinking that whenever you were ready, you would come back and talk to me.
But then the messages stopped.
And honestly, I don't know what happened.
It feels like I got ghosted without even getting a goodbye. And that's the part that hurts the most, because I know you. Or atleast I thought I knew you. This doesn't feel like the person I used to talk to, the person who shared everything with me.
Maybe something changed. Maybe your feelings changed. Maybe you met someone else. Maybe you just don't want this anymore. I don't know.
But โฎโฎโฎ, if that's what you want, please just tell me.
If you want to end this and move on, I promise I won't fight you. I won't blame you. I won't force you to stay. Just be honest with me. Give me a reason, say goodbye properly, and I will respect your decision, even if it breaks my heart.
But please don't leave me wondering what happened.
Because I am still here. I still love you. I still think about you, about us, about all those things we planned and all those conversations we had.
I don't know if you will ever come back, but a part of me is still hoping that you will.
So if there is even a little part of you that wants to talk to me again, please come back and talk to me.
And if you don't want me anymore, just tell me.
I can accept the truth.
What I can't accept is silence from someone who once meant so much to me.
I miss you, โฎโฎโฎ.
And more than anything, I just want to hear from you again. โค๏ธ
Friendly reminder that if I havenโt replied to your 8th follow up email about feedback, I probably wonโt reply to your 10th, either.

Again??
Harvey and Legora remain the main giants in the space, with Legora being more focused on marketing tbh while Harvey's trying for moonshots with their own tech/models but doesn't seem to have the calibre to execute just yet.
Claude/ChatGPT have better (or at best the same) models compared to the legal AI platforms, but do not have bespoke integrations for caselaw/statutes/etc. It's still quicker (specifically in Indian law) to research through traditional sources (Manu, SCC, etc) and use Claude/ChatGPT.
For firms/teams/chambers in the market, I'd recommend trying out Pro subscriptions (personal billing) for Claude/ChatGPT first and see if it fits. The cost of investment is only 2000/month/user (1800 on enterprise plans) which is much cheaper than the legal AI platforms.
Harvey and Legora have recently rolled out their own agentic harnesses (Harvey II and Legora aOS), but they're simply their own implementations of the harnesses pioneered by the frontier AI companies (Claude Code/Cowork and ChatGPT Codex/Work). While their marketing is impressive, you have to remember that these are non-technical companies at their core which are competing against cutting edge trillion dollar giants.
Also any idea about Darpan in Induslaw? how is he as a boss?
And arya trpathy in delhi cam office? how is she as a boss?
