It’s a very toxic place. Please join some better place and live a peaceful live.

What are your take on the said amendment ???
Can relate big time with the OP on this front though
pay increases after probation
how long does it take to reach BKC from Malad?
This post is for Partners only. How many of you still have panic attacks? Is it normal or is it a sign that one needs to move on from law? How many of you go for therapy and does it really help?
Obviously answers would be anonymous, but I would appreciate the insights.
I am a 2023 graduate from t2 Nlu, I wanted to seek advice that since i have graduated haven't got any opportunity in the gen corp firms. After applying to various places i have got at govt sort of PSU 1 year contractual job in the dispute arena. So just wanted to know whether after working for 1 year would it be helpful for transitioning to a law firm for a gen corp role. Please advise
I know plenty of NLS students who will appreciate the things sudhir has done for them. They might whine about having to work harder- but they understand the value of that. and I'm done with people like you dragging the rest of us down.
Do you need to know the law to practice or not? Do you need to learn how to find and understand and analyse the law or not? Sudhir doesn't do some obscure legal theory stuff- hes a fairly middle-of-the-road doctrinal scholar. I think your problem is that you dont actually want to learn the law at all. You dont want to do the work. You want someone who will put everything on a PPT, tell you what the case says instead of expecting you to read it and helping you to understand the way doctrine has developed. when you say you want to practice- How do students know what they will need to practice? They dont know the law and they dont know the profession. Why should we trust them with curriculum design? Do you really think this lack of interest in the law is gonna play well in the profession? The profession is NOT all hustle- its not all scamming clients- its not all reproducing the same boilerplate drafts. you do at the end of the day need to be able to do the things lawyers do.
And the idea that you think youre the majority is laughable. At least at the best NLUS- people actually want to learn the law. You are dragging the rest of us down. we already like the law. we need our professors to challenge us, hold us to high standards, and meet those standards themselves. Which Sudhir does. Of course he helps students who appreciate the work hes doing. Thats human nature- youre not entitled to special attention . I wouldnt waste time mentoring students who were plain disinterested in the law.
What exactly has sudhir done that has been cruel or lacking in empathy? make a clear provable falsifiable allegation ratheer than just throwing these words around. You clearly just have an ax to grind and the fact that this libelous stuff gets published here every other week is disgusting.
Capital Market or Banking & Finance or Dispute
From a hiring perspective, no. No T1 law firms give any value to Indian LLMs and there is a negligible framework for hiring coordination in most of the top 5 NLUs (which suggests that that's the scene everywhere in India). For T2-T3 law firms, it's mostly a question of securing internships and performing there, but most top law firms would be wary of having interns who have cleared the bar exam.
And specifically in competition law, I can confirm that no half-decent practice is likely to have openings for an Indian LLM student on merit. If you have contacts, well....then you don't really need an LLM anyway.
Now, since my husband has already been a part of the industry, he knows how insane work gets at times. But we make it a point to go out often, to spend as much time we have together. I am planning to start my own practice full time, things will get rough in the initial years, but we are in for the bigger game.
Why did you lie about the number? ‘Only 4’ - so poor research
Boss - join advocacy
Slave : join firm
Plus possible bonus of another 3 lakhs (depending on billings) -this varies may be offered or may not be depending upon firm financials.
I am not even kidding. It's verified information. She is from hyderabad and she is leaving nalsar and is going to pay 40 lakhs more for gnlu thru nri
So does this mean gnlu>nalsar?
I have heard that in nlus only firms hire.
Ps. I am just asking, not trying to assert any clg's dominance.
If HNLU is taking in lower-ranked students but they successfully get placed then that makes HNLU a better university than MNLU
Management trainee/Relationship manager is the biggest ▮▮▮. Please avoid ICICI at all costs. Go for a law firm even is it pays less in the start
Chennai legal market is mostly from Tamil Nadu, unlike Bangalore, Delhi or Mumbai.
This is a detailed analysis of the queer alliances functioning in different law schools across the country, focusing on their status of affairs, experiences and the future ahead. Definitely a fresh read considering the scarce of inter-NLU initiatives. More such collaborations on different fronts should take place!
Also, you must realise that this sort of a list is very difficult to compile. Since students' exposure to professors is largely limited to their college, it is hella difficult to make a "Best law profs in India" list. This will just be a trollish echo chamber for students yelling the names of their favourite law school profs. The only way profs can be objectively judged across the country, is through scholarship.
Perhaps I was misunderstood. My rationale for saying see the difference for yourself was not to signify that JGLR is better, most definitely not. But perhaps that JGLR has more "academic" articles, whatever that is, which SCOPUS might tend to prefer. But your point about the student run journals is definitely worth taking into consideration. While I have not seen any inherent bias in indexing of student run law university journals in the US, UK, Germany etc., it is definitely worth noting that there is a trust deficit of Indian journals that haunts the academy at large and thus your point may in fact be valid.
Above all what I'm concerned about is why everyone is behind this SCOPUS race honestly. Kya chutiya criterion hain. Fuck Scopus. Creates too much pressure amongst academics also. Perhaps it is best that universities stop these dick measuring contests about who's got more scopus publications.
Some of us just want to practice law. Some of us don't want to wax eloquent about the supposedly transformative power of law or have meandering philosophical debates about the abstruse jurisprudential based of the law. It would be real nice if he could be nice to us sometimes too.
Luthra -At rebirth stage,Its a risky option but if you stick it out here and the firm grows,I would automatically grow.High risk High reward.
SAM- The brand name of SAM is great, deaoure CAM destroying its own brand name and also legacy of Amarchand name.
Khaitan-one of the better grabs with less toxicity.Work environment is tough, not so much rough like a AZB.
One of the main aspects that disappointed me was the organization of the course resources. They were poorly organized and did not meet my expectations in terms of quality. The summary of the chapters was particularly subpar, providing little value and making it difficult to revise and missed the main concepts.
One aspect I appreciated about the course was Dhruv's genuine enthusiasm for teaching. His passion and dedication shone through, and he shared valuable techniques and real-life examples from his own experiences. These insights added a personal touch and made the content more relatable.
However, Dhruv's English-speaking skills were not particularly strong. There were instances where his explanations weren't as clear as they could have been. I found myself having to conduct additional research to gain a better understanding of the productivity techniques discussed in the course.
Additionally, the course did not include subtitles. Although I personally didn't mind the lack of subtitles due to Dhruv's understandable accent. This could be a potential disappointment for those who rely on subtitles for a more comprehensive learning experience.
Another point that affected my overall perception of the course was its price. Even with the 40% discount coupon, the course was still more expensive than other average time management courses available in the market.
The price point, coupled with the shortcomings mentioned earlier, made it harder for me to justify the value I received in return. I recommend potential learners to carefully evaluate their expectations and consider alternatives before enrolling in this course.
If you are not bothered about placements and it's the city life that matters to you I would then suggest you to opt for RML. It is in the heart of the city and is quite liveable. Personally, I feel that even if you don't want to go to hnlu for certain reasons, you must opt for NLUO over RML due to its promising placement scene. Rgnul should be the last option whatsoever.
On top of that, Sidhuwal jaate jaate haalat kharab ho jaati hai bus station se😅😅
My advice to you would be to avoid rgnul at all costs
In addition, what kind of working hours is there? Is it even worse than cap market working hours?

4) Saraf/Luthra/Indus - depends on practice area.
4) ICUL - only for investment funds practice.
Honest opinion for a law school student
In the last 10 years, Chennai circles have opened up with Khaitan, Amarchands and Induslaw in recent years. Kochar has been around for a decade too. Interesting times ahead. With the recent establishment of NCLAT and a regional office of CCI, excellent times ahead for lawyers in Chennai. Tnnlu would largely benefit from these in the long run.
