Law not sexy anymore?The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) experienced the slightest slump in popularity this year, for the first time since the exam was established. The clash of engineering (IIT) and medical (PMT) entrances, on 8 May, with CLAT 2016 pulled potential CLAT applicants away to the more popular entrances.

The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2016 online application deadline has been extended till tonight.

This extension does not apply to candidates registering for the exam through offline payment of registration fee.

According to a notification on CLAT’s website:

“This is for the notice of aspirants for admission to Under-Graduate and Post-Graduate Courses in Law through CLAT-2016 that the last date for applying online (only through online payment) is extended upto 05 April 2016 till 11:59 pm.”

RTI response: The computer says no

The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2015 expert panel, which was formed twice to examine alleged errors in the CLAT 2015 question papers, was composed of secret members. CLAT 2015 convenor RMLNLU Lucknow rejected a right to information (RTI) request for the names of the members of the panel which had dismissed allegations that one-fifth of the CLAT 2015 LLB paper was error-ridden.

The Bombay high court judgment has been uploaded on the Bombay high court website, ordering an expert committee with the power to take a decision that could revise the “merit list of candidates if necessary”, making “the whole merit list and all subsequent process, will be subject to outcome of the Expert Panel/Comittee’s decision”.
