It's really difficult to get a loan with no income and no guarantor, even if you have one of the above it becomes easier.

For the college fees, you can opt for an educational loan which comes at around 11% pa and no collateral would be needed. Even for the personal loan of 120000 (54k+66k) you would not require a collateral.

In my research, these 3 requisites were common among all the reliable alternatives:

1.Any alternate source of income

2.CIBIL score of the guarantee

3.A consistent source of income proof of the guarantee

You should take note that if you belong to one of the T-1 NLUs, chances are that you would get a concession on the interest charged.
I appreciate the concern.

To be quite honest, it was a calculated guess from my side. I would elaborate on how I made the following guess so that it doesn't make anyone paranoid about their IP being disclosed.

1. The comment just above him, which ACTUALLY answered the query got no traction, while the comment that was solely intended to target and disregard the question at hand got such a positive response, which seemed off to me.

2. While the first point may have been speculation, the upcoming point convinced me.

As Mods, we're enabled to see a series of 3 randomized emojis that denote a certain IP that is not disclosed to anyone, and even those randomized emojis get refreshed every 24-48 hours. The comment had a reply under it that said "Lol yeah." supposing itself as a concurring opinion with the guy who wrote the original comment, but in reality it was the same person, which had the same 3 randomized series of emojis denoting the same encrypted IP. This ultimately translates to him seeking validation for his comment. Hence, I made the following assertion.

I had to answer in full depth so as not to leave the wrong impression since the IP revelation is rightfully a sensitive topic. If you have any further questions, feel free to ask ;)

The whole process is better explained here: https://www.legallyindia.com/convos/topic/295300-is-legally-india-truly-anonymous#comment-295578

1. If I had wanted to comment, I wouldn't have taken the shield of anonymity like you.

2. As a member and fellow moderator of the platform, I do not feel SUPERIOR to anyone, be it someone from 'tier-3 NLU or lower', so I don't understand the point made. I've always upheld the stance that acing CLAT doesn't translate into one being a better lawyer.

3. Rather than targeting, you should've instead presented your points on why SLSP is a better choice. Given the circumstances and the financial aspect, it makes no sense to burn an extra 4 lakhs for arguably the same experience when he/she might take CLAT next year.

4. You shouldn't be so petty as to inflate your upvotes by refreshing the page. Grow up :)
Honestly, it's not as straightforward of an answer. It's very subjective.

Suppose if I wanted to do Judiciary and I'm sure of it without a doubt, then it might not make much sense to waste an year's progress for the NLU tag and a better alumni base. But suppose if I want to go for corporate, then it'll make a lot of sense since HNLU has good placements, it conducts Day Zero, it is an obvious choice, and that one year wouldn't mean much if you get the job.

If we consider a more realistic possibility of you not being sure about what to do (which is a better way to go about it), then all around HNLU still offers a much better life. It'll keep your avenues open to pursue whatever you wish, contingent on your efforts.

You'll get a better campus, better food (yes, I've heard that the food isn't that great in most of Nirma's PGs), a better hostel, better alumni, better connections, and presumably a better career. Make the decision owing to your circumstances, and I can assure you that the most you'll lose if you choose HNLU is an year, nothing more than that :)

Best of luck deciding on whatever you choose, keep us updated!
Not possible for the B.A. LL.B. course. If we follow the previous trends then you might get the B.Sc. LL.B. course (cyberlaw) at NLIU.

You should also get MNLUM*, RMLNLU and HNLU.
You should definitely consider it. There are people who have made this switch in the past and they are quite happy with their choice.

Nirma with the current dean had a downward trajectory in terms of rep and the culture is also a bit suffocating as far as I've heard. HNLU might offer a broader set of options and the NLU tag does help. Even if you're eyeing for a corporate job, HNLU is performing quite decently in the past few years.

Find people on LinkedIn who have made a similar switch and weigh in the pros and cons. Best of luck :)
Be cautious while dealing with anyone in the channel and it goes without saying that LI bears no guarantee about the validity of the channel so you may join and participate with your own risk :)
Nope, I don't think so bud.

Getting an NLU in the first place is not a surety with AIR 7000 :(
As far I know, it's a senior position but the pay isn't up there. And yes, there are hundreds of VP in JPM. Since they deal with clients, the vice president designation gives them a sense of reliance on the person involved in the dealing.

The ranking is like:

Graduate Analyst - Fresher

Analyst - 6-12 months

Senior Analyst - 1-3years

Associate - 2-5 years

Senior Associate -3-8 years

VP usually: 8-10 years

And the pay does not exceed 60 LPA in most cases and ranges from 20-60 LPA.
You should ideally get in but there is no saying since if you get in the 700s bracket then considering the past year cut-offs it might not be possible.

Then again the domicile cut-offs have a higher probability of fluctuating and the number of candidates that re-appear from a T-2 NLU also contributes to an inflated cut-offs since many a times they do not find the opportunity cost of leaving their current NLU for GNLU/NLIU not really worth it.

I hope you get in though :)
I did not attempt. I've made amends with what I've got hehe.

But I saw the paper and it was quite easy, 85-90 for a T-2 NLU is my guess.
MHCET is another option that law aspirants can eye for. Apart from MHCET, LSAT (for JGLS), SLAT (for Symbi, Pune) and, if budget permits, BITSLAW are decent options to consider.

The paper was easy, no doubts about it. And people who were able to tame their nerves were able to perform better + the easy nature of the paper gave people with low prep but good reading skills a solid edge, which proves good for a T-1 fresher as opposed to a T-3 dropper imo. Nonetheless, the CLAT consortium is widely infamous for their ridiculous actions, some of them being the revision of the schedule and the constant changes in the pattern.
Trust me, the speed has gotten wayy better nowadays. Earlier, there were days when no moderation took place.

Currently there are a few volunteers that take time off from their busy schedules to moderate. I think they deserve some credit rather than being blamed for :(
I completely second what @NonsenicalLawyer said.

I've friends who interned during their 6 month-long break and yes it did make a difference in their understanding of law but I don't think that it is worth it. I didn't do a thing related to law in my break and I'm quite happy with it, those 6 months were the best days of my life. I binged, I traveled and I spent time with my friends, all in all, I lived my 6 months and I would never regret it :)

Enjoy while you can, law school drains the life out of you.

Really sorry for the inconvenience caused, we tend to avoid moderating comments that have the potential to be trollish or unsuitable for the platform and leave it up to the main mod to judge it. However, we're slowly and steadily realising the fine line and it won't be long before we get experienced enough to take the call :)
Virudhaka is the annual sports fest of NLIU. Its counterparts include SPIRITUS - NLS, Yuvardha - NLUJ, Zelus - RGNUL, Justice League - GNLU, Aavahan - RMLNLU, etc.
