But also one thing , their way of approach could’ve been different. Isha foundation chose all the best colleges in india and that included iim Ahmedabad , IIT and nalsar. So it’s pretty easy to figure out as to why nalsar is a premium institution.
However, later the claimants themselves relied upon the said documents of the Respondent during a cross examination. Can it be said that now those documents have been admitted by the claimants against themselves.
Kindly let me know if there is any authority on this.
Thanks
I am from a Tier-3 NLU and am applying for BCL at Oxford this year. My cumulative GPA lands me around 72-73%. However, I have a batch rank of 1.
Now, the problem is that BCL requires a first-class hons degree in UG which would translate to 75% for other universities and 65% for "prestigious universities".
Could you please help me by elaborating on whether my Batch Rank 1 would help me get over this requirement and whether a 3rd Tier NLU would be considered as a 'prestigious university'?
Any help would be appreciated!

If you see politics or toxicity - ignore it till it’s not directed at you and keep on reading the various KM notes that have practical jurisprudence imbibed in them.
No firm will give you anything - the least you owe yourself is extracting every bit of knowledge that will make you a better lawyer.
Hopefully the world doesn’t stop needing good lawyers.
So why do a stupid degree like LLM if there's no guarantee of employement? You are making 2 contradictory statements and both of them cannot be true at the same time. ▮▮▮

Interesting ranking. I agree with the top 4 and JGLS being placed 4th. But I think GNLU should be 5, NLUJ should be 6, NUJS should be 7, NLIU should be 8, RGNUL should be 9, RMLNLU should be 10. IIT law school should be 11, Symbiosis Pune should be 12 and HNLU should be 13. I am ranking NUJS as 7 because the placement percentage (which is their only strength) will take a big hit once the BSc LLB forensics batch enrols, as they will not get good placements due to low market demand in the field.
BTW the site also arranges the NIRF ranking very neatly, with the individual scores, if you click NIRF in the drop-down menu.
A lot of that is understandable - students are lazy and superior and arrogant and all that. And that’s fine when you’re just being a regular student. But it’s a different thing when you want to do real political stuff - you can’t bring those flaws with you. You gotta be more circumspect.
I’m on their side- I don’t think they should’ve been bullied the way they were. But it’s clear they were not equipped to deal with that conman.
P.S. This is just a rumour, the mods can mark it as contested but please allow it to get publish. I want to know the real story.

Going to a fancy restaurant doesn't make you classy.
Focus on self improvement. Work on improving your grooming, come to work with well tailored and clean clothes. Be well read and talk in a pleasing manner. There are some things which you need to do to project confidence and charm.
Just spending money at a restaurant doesn't make you classy. These are one shot expenditures. Go there if you are interested in having an interesting culinary experience. But don't go there just to impress other people.
At the end of the day, people are impressed by people who project confidence.
Think about what your real goals are, and don't lose your way by trying to just impress randos at work.

Take a loan in your name and go do the LLM if it matters to you so much.
In my experience he used to evaluate papers fairly. If you inserted what he talked about in his classes, you would get a decent grade.
You would have to have really pissed him off to get on his bad books, but my experience with him was quite positive.
Oxbridge usually takes the toppers.
But the others should be depending on the quality of your applications.
If you got the money and the means go for it. You will definitely benefit from the experience.
You won't be the first one to apply without work experience. Just do it.
He came to the middle east with a motorcycle for photo ops talking about soil conservation.
He claimed to be riding the cycle throughout the region when in actuality the bike was being ferried around in a private jet. Such a fraud. He didn't even ride the bike from one country to the other and just did photo ops with the bike.
He would have saved the environment more if he just stayed at home. What a waste.
“the basic feature of the constitution envisages a cohesive, unified, casteless society. By breathing new life into casteism the judgment fractures the nation and disregards the basic features of the constitution. The decision would revitalize casteism, cleave the nation into forward and backward and make backwardness a vested interest. It will undo whatever has been achieved since independence towards a unified and integrated nation the majority judgments will revive casteism which the constitution emphatically intended to end; and the pre – independence tragedy would be re-enacted the erstwhile under privileged would now become the privileged”.
He then quotes Nehru:
“The only real way to help the backward group is to give opportunities for a good education.... But if we go in for reservations on communal and caste basis, we swamp the bright and the able people and remain second rate or third- rate.. it has amazed me to learn that even promotions are based sometimes on communal or caste considerations. This way lies not only folly, but disaster. Let us help the backward groups by all means, but never at the cost of efficiency”.
It's also worth remembering that Indra Sawhney was not a unanimous decision. The dissenting view was that class does not equate to caste.
30 years have passed since the judgement. The condition of SC/ST/OBC people are a lot better now. They have occupied high posts in government and politics. The country has not had an upper-caste person as PM since 2004, when Vajpayee's tenure ended. Globalisation and tech have also created many opportunities for SC/SC/OBC people. We have also been the US Supreme Court strike down race-based affirmative action.
So why not end caste-based reservation now? At most, have a 20% EWS quota for all, irrespective of caste?

NLUj:- after a bad couple of years at domestic placements they are seeing an improvement - why? Well it’s because their international PPO culture from foreign law firms has been consistent and domestic firms are gaining a trust all over again. This year will be a major comeback for the Columbia of the Indian Law School
GNLU :- they have been doing well for a while now. But the batch of 23 followed by the batch of 24 is proving problematic for the legacy to be maintained. Aayega Sab aayega. Lekin iss bar utna Accha nehi hoga ppo ke mamle mein. The Brown of Indian Law School will have to take the bullet.
NLIU - with a bit more funds coming in , the college is trying to build new infra but PPO culture remains mediocre. It has slided a lot and it will more if Bhopal doesn’t churn out correct data.
First, corporate law jobs depend on institutional tag and relative class rank it does not depend on the pass course subjects, so it does not matter whether you study sociology or ballistics, law firm work will deal with corp law, DD, PE etc.
Second, the main law subjects will be taught by the same faculty members, so unlike in Jindal where you have different grades of teachers teaching different grades of students, at NUJS all LLB students will be treated equally
Finally, NUJS has the first mover advantage in the NLU space on offering an innovative pass course which deals with forensic in great depth, while it will be of little use in corp jobs (except tangentially for some of the document verification modules) so is history, political science etc in the context of corp jobs.
It seems that the post is by a disgruntled NLUD student who wants to troll NUJS. The entire batch will be brought into the main campus in two years and there will a state of the art lab (costing 10+ crore), it is being constructed in the main campus. A new hostel block is also on the anvil, however, due to land acquisition issues it is facing a longer delay. Overall, the forensic BSc LLB Hons at NUJS is an excellent course and will have a cut off of <400 in CLAT gen by next year, this year it went only upto low 600.
Now, things have changed.
I got offered a PPO from a tier 1 firm based in Mumbai. While I really enjoyed the city, the rent prices blew my mind off. So I was wondering if any of you could share how you split a tier 1 firm salary in your first year while living in Mumbai.
Visited the campus last week and the seniors were very friendly
The gall to assume that this new course will be treated at the same level as the ba LLB course is hilarious if anything.
This is a doomed course right from its inception.
Scholarship is different ball game, you will need to focus on your sop more and show why the uni should give you £20k.
Also, have a clear gameplan for what you want to do after your LLM
Have a chat with seniors from your uni who had done LLM straight after LLB
If you can then I shall admit superiority of NLUD, if not then please stop making claims that you cannot substantiate
That's what I am saying. You don't furnish wrong information.

We don't know what the Calcutta High Court is going to rule, but if it annuls the Panchayat election results because of mass violence and rigging, won't it amount to a solid ground for imposing President's rule under Article 356? In the history of India, we have seen courts annul elections of individual MLAs and MPs on technical grounds. For example, in 2019, the Madras High Court had quashed the election of an MP because of a false affidavit. But quashing an entire Panchayat election on grounds of voter intimidation would probably be unprecedented. I don't think it's ever happened before.
What do you all think?
Also, don’t think he deserves it !
~ A really really from the bottom of the heart concerned student of NUJS
got in through vacant seats and visited the campus almost a week ago. ultimately decided not to enroll myself owing to unavailability of hostels lol.
was on campus for probably 2-3 hours and chanced upon seniors heading to their classes...talked to them for a good 15 minutes be4 they headed out.
talking to them almost made me want to settle for the nightmarish housing off campus :).
I don't know what to call Trilegal, maybe the new Induslaw?
I would be glad if someone could realistically shed light on what chances I have of getting a good LLM offer from a foreign university for Fall 2024, specially without work experience. Thanks in advance
Do you think, one, who thinks and is "affected" by the fact that law profession pushes you to dwell in greys of/against personal moral conscience, should pursue law practice at all? Considering only corporate law/disputes, keeping aside academia.
And is MBA a good way out?
