Whereas, I like my day to start early so that post lunch or around 4-5 on wards I can start getting the extra reading in (like files, judgements, news etc). Essentially that atleast the clerical work and drafting and reviewing internally can be done by 3-4 so that post that one leaves for home and concentrates on the reading bit. I am usually in office by 9 to get a head start but no one in the team shows up before 12.
This has an impact on health because you are getting no movement and exercise or even decent meal timings in. No one in this team is decently fit let alone fit. Sleep schedule is effed as well.
If you all know, can you reccomend teams that usually start early and atleast get the office work done by 4-5( even 6) and post that urgent matters, last minute emails etc etc show up. Will be a huge help! Thanks in advance!
AND this year 3
Rank 430 something ankit yadav

Kindly consider this comment as my application to assist with LI Moderation. The two primary reasons to apply are: (i) having been a long-time reader of LI (5+ years), it has tremendously helped me in navigating law school and becoming a moderator would be an ideal way to give back to the community; and (ii) prior experience with forum moderating (non-legal/academic).
Thanks!

Regards.
Critics have raised concerns about the inflexible nature of this policy, arguing that it fails to account for individual circumstances that may prevent students from meeting the attendance requirement. The strict enforcement of this rule appears to leave little room for exceptions, even in cases of medical grounds, thus potentially disadvantaging students who genuinely require accommodations.
The communication from the university makes it clear that no requests for further exemptions will be entertained, regardless of the reasons presented. This rigid stance has prompted discussions about whether the university's approach adequately supports student welfare and holistic development.
As the debate continues, some stakeholders advocate for a more compassionate and understanding approach that takes into consideration the unique challenges students may face. Balancing academic rigor with a willingness to accommodate genuine concerns could potentially lead to a more inclusive and supportive learning environment at GNLU.
Else, send your CV to a partner via someone you know at the firm
All the best!
Is there any specific FORMATs which i can get or there are books to follow?
Please help , its urgent.
Please guide me, any help will be appreciated
Its Urgent
its not easy, especially if you have japanese clients, or early morning calls. But after a while, you manage expectation and people realise that they can pay you for your time but not for your health. Also, one advice to the OP - check your scales every 15 days. Water weight fluctuations dont really represent the true weight loss trajectory.

I'd like to volunteer for being a mod. I've been an active since 2013. I visit LI about VERY frequently (I'm off all other social media), so quick moderation is guaranteed. I also pinky promise to be fair and unbiased.

Fellow peeps, so as to be techno-savvy and an efficient person who can handle PDFs while working in law firms/chambers. What apps one should use for PDF integrated note-taking, highlighting, PDF to Docx converter for OCR and other basic functions
There's a new dark mode theme, for reading LI at night (or during the day) to save your eyes somewhat, as well as some tweaks in functionality and appearance. If you have any feedback, please let us know.
We are also hoping to select and welcome new moderators soon and will keep you posted. If you are interested, please create an account (or log into your account), and leave a message below letting us know why you would like to help with moderation.
1. The batch size is going to be 240(NLSIU) vs 120(NALSAR) for the 2024 batch. That means there will be cut-throat competition at NLSIU to even get chance for moot courts, adr , debate teams other co-curricular activities etc.
2. Placements are going to be nightmare at NLSIU for the single fact that no law firm majorly hires from any law school as well as only 60-70 people(like in other tier-1 law schools despite the batch size) who will get decent jobs. Not to mention there will be a small number of people eligible for placements because the college will have to maintain the placement percentage criteria as well as a decent median package.
So, anyone who is filling the preference list for CLAT 2024 please be careful as to what you are choosing as your 1st preference because you have to spend 5 years at the law school you put at the 1st position given if you get a required rank.

Also, I wish TATA retain the Vistara brand and its logo. TATA could start airport lounges and name them after Vistara.
Which LinkedIn posts by the way?
For context go through the previous thread-

If ya all vote, which I think most of us would be in the voting age, dont vote for Godi government.
Preferably, if you have acceptance of your internship applications on mail + if u can provide contacts of people working in the firm who can confirm about your internship then that works!
- Will NLSIU return empty-handed 7 years in a row, or will their intense lobbying bear fruit?
- Will GNLU continue its strong showing in recent years? Or will NLUD, NUJS and NALSAR add to their tally?
- Will it again go to the student with the wokest SOP, promising to return to India and work for empowerment of the marginalised? Or will they get real and be fine with giving it to a corp law candidate, who tells the truth that he/she wants to settle abroad?
- Will Jindal finally get a Rhodes scholar, after 10 years of coaching their students for it?
- Will we see some WTF choices? For example, the 2019 Rhodes for law went to a girl who did her undergrad from King's College London (see below). It is baffling how a Rhodes scholarship for India went to a girl at a foreign university, even if she is an Indian citizen. In that case there are thousands of Indian citizens studying abroad who can apply!

But personally, I also left a tier-1 job because after a point, it became a battle between 'enough sleep' vs 'working out' -- and both are equally important for longterm overall health.
Or academia? talk to someone who recently joined jindal - but academia requires an LLM (bare minimum) and places like jindal only hire after a foreign LLM so that's a heavy expense too.
And that's not a way to ensure quality control, that's just an artificial control over supply.
I know a lot of corporate folks don't like to think that lawyers do anything noble or work towards the ends of justice (many don't, admittedly), but our country needs way more lawyers for the justice system to be any effective.
When it was my turn to lead I must admit, I too, chose the meritorious of my juniors to be co-conveners but the 2nd /3rd years were selected purely on favorites. Those kids, arguably devoid of higher merit were selected who I knew personally and while I tried to interview all candidates ultimately I chose the ones who were closer and arguably regulars in the committee. I now hate my choices and the committee but yeah in short, it happens and we do it and I regret every part of the fact that I was also a clog in this huge nepotism machinery.

1. LI needs to be a news site again, as Bar & Bench/LiveLaw are stooges of the establishment and deep state who will ignore controversial news like corruption in law schools, corruption in the BCI etc. They also never did activist journalism like you, e.g. leaking documents. Please hand over LI to a group of NLU students/alumni who can make it a crowdsourced whistleblower news website like WikiLeaks. We will be happy to give donations.
2. Please replace the moderator with someone unbiased and non-woke. The current moderator is biased in favour of NLSIU and the left-liberal elite. He does not believe in free speech and randomly censors comments.
A: Change the name of the Act to Hindi.
Amit Shah should be the brand ambassador of Quillbot. He has just changed the section number and names of offences and the acts!
On a side note: I hope they really change the names to English. This is hindi imposition at its peak. Someone, who isn't fluent in hindi won't be able to understand which one is IPC, CrPc or evidence!
And it’s a competitive fast paced space. There will be many assignments and tests and continuous evaluation and the semester goes by quickly and there is a lot to read every term. Many of your instructors will be much younger than you and the senior professors would be around the same age. I think the VC is about that age now. Make sure that won’t be a problem for you. They know more about the law than you do and you will have to be open to receiving instruction from these people. And I’m unsure what your social life will look like. It’s hard to imagine young college girls will be particularly welcoming or boys for that matter- but you should have a decent social life outside law school anyway. Going through law school as a teenager was hard enough - I can’t quite imagine attempting it as someone with- presumably a family to take care of. Make sure you can put aside the time.Too many older learner’s come into the classroom thinking they already know everything, they monopolise class time talking about nonsense they read on WhatsApp and struggle with doing the work and staying humble. If that doesn’t describe you - you’re fine to join.
THINK.
Are you getting what you want, much more than what you need? Should be sufficient to be happy.
You're being greedy or jealous. Don't be.
Not trying to turn you into a saint here. But regret often stems from not having conviction in one's own choices. Have that conviction in your choices. Be proud of what you did. No looking back. Only lessons and better future decisions, if at all.
Also stop over apologizing. That too on an anonymous platform. All for nothing. I wouldn't be wrong in assuming you are a girl, because they generally tend to do it more. That is sooo not going to help you in this profession or in life. People will undermine your whole thinking and push their thoughts on you.
Okay let me let this secret out. Some of the most chilled out people are those that do LLM, cake walk through UGC NET and chill out as professors in Tier 2, Tier 3 NLUs. Absolute freshers. Zero industry experience. You can be one of them. And they get paid HANDSOME for nothing. Like zero efforts in taking classes, zero knowledge of subjects.
CS, a supposedly inferior profession, in the legal world, can be an option. Pursue it. Get employed somewhere. Or best would be independent practice. Only certain times of the year will be hectic. But pursuing it is in itself a slavery for the law brains. Not easy.
In house is relatively chill. But to get there you'll have to do this slaving given the competition. At least 10 years workex some places ask.
Judiciary works too. Becoming a law officer in any of those PSUs is good too. But again both are gambles big time. But four years of prep should make making it far more highly probable.
Apart from.tne professor option, all other options require you to inevitably work hard for at least a couple of years to make it the rest of your life easier.
First off, YES. BIG YES. Tier 3 NLU student here.
Tomorrow whether you work in a law firm or in a litigation office or in a university as a professor, or even courts, you'll have to be in the good books of superiors. This profession is known for nepotism, favouritism, be it law firms, litigation offices or "let me not mention it to not contempt it". You WILL HAVE TO oil up hierarchically superiors. If not oil up, at least try being super friendly and being on their good books Take it as an advice for life for this profession.
Law school will ruin you with concepts of rights, equality and stuff. But life in real life is very different. You cannot demand rights, not even minimum wage in some litigation offices lol. You won't be treated equally. The more senior, the more unequal. Very rarely you'll find people who don't walk around with that air of superiority. But you can't make a profession out of just technical skills working around people that are supposedly normal. Not this one at least. Connections are the single biggest asset you can have in this profession. Very often placed higher than technical skills.
So treat this as your sign to up your people skills, up your connections game.
We don't intend to close down LI and have no intention of ever shutting down the archives. If there are financial difficulties in future in maintaining the archives or paying the bills, we will let you know and will be grateful for all your help, of course, thank you very much for offering.
Hope you are well and happy!
Kian
Now my sole question is that does this happen at other tier-3 nlus as well? Here even the MCC employs only seniors to judge so the biasedness is even more pronounced. Or is this something to be called out within the batch itself for improvement? Kindly comment below.
I hope this question bypasses moderation.
About 4-5 people got Tier 2 offers.
NLUD’s too salty about firms blacklisting them.
