There are exceptions like NIT before they were set up as national institute, they were state institute of engineering
That did not happen by court order, but by legislative design. Doing something like that now will involve the central government having to put up considerable funds for the institute, which it will not do.
If that is the case, then IIULER Goa has also been set up by BCI.

Spot on. Agree 100%.
No, that won’t obligate the centre to give money. There are many central institutions that are not being given any funds right now, especially Marxist social science institutes. NLSIU wants central status not for funds but to remove domicile quota.
Not any that has been even recently nationalised. And NLSIU doesn't want the tag, they have already implemented domicile quota despite high court stay.
NLSIU was as much a state university as any other. BCI did not come up with any separate legislation for it, but the Karnataka government did. As for the name, NLSIU's has got school in it. That's not preventing it from claiming university status, is it?
Exactly , omg someone finally said it! Nlsiu deserves it
What NLSIU deserves, it's already got. Domicile quota.
It’s not about what the Karnataka govt wants. The fact is that the HC has ruled in favour of NLSIU and the ball is in the SC’s court. Chandrachud has a soft spot for NLSIU and Sudhir, as seen from the review commission appointments. You can see which way the wind is blowing.
My prediction is that the Karnataka HC judgement will be upheld and NLSIU will be held to be the sole national NLU and distinguished from others. However, a window will be given to the state for non-CLAT courses like the 3 year LLB and MPP.
bhaijaan obiter aur ratio main fark samajhte ho?
He gave in, just like other NLU VCs did. He's not anything special.
Don't spread lies. Sudhir accepted the domicile quota grudgingly, because that was a condition to getting more funds. He is not in favour of the quota.
That's your opinion, not a fact. The fact is that he agreed to it despite being under no legal obligation to do so.
