We want LI to be one of the friendliest places on the internet, where lawyers and law students help each other with their career related queries and occasionally discuss other stuff that might affect their lives too. In other words:
1. Be kind, respectful and helpful to each other.
2. Be bona fide, truthful, genuine and curious.
3. Assume the best intention of others.
Therefore, in using the site, you must agree to do your best to uphold these community guidelines.
Note that what you find here is written and moderated by anonymous people on the internet.

There's nothing wrong with that, we should normalize hustle culture by hook or by crook, we hustle differently though.
UPSC was great till liberalisation, now consultants run the show at the centre and state levels. All this for some 10LPA salary for decades. Your social life will revolve around small town sensibilities in Jabalpur or Ranchi or some such.
Heard 1-2 also got PPO this year which is huge.
Rest, don't have any option left, so they have started preparing for Judiciary:)
LKS also has some openings
Regstreet is hiring although at SA level
Khaitan Mumbai is hiring in regulatory team
Have you cleared the phase -1?
Firms like Trilegal may give equity to all but new equity holders would have less. It would be interesting if someone can tell me, what is the expensive range of watches and cars that they think lawyers can buy. I am not talking about big founders of law firms (or guys like AR, RM, etc., who are not the norm).
The visual imagery of it is disgusting
Will consider JurisCorp immediately if the teams are even half decent, as compared to the T1 hell hole that I am in. (A2 at a T1)
Any help/ advice/ inputs with respect to the work culture, growth and salary would be appreciated thanks.
Thanks

I was in the same dilemma when I started. Thought of going to a law firm to make a cushion. But got too comfortable. Also, as age progresses, risk taking appetite reduces. Your priorities also change when you are 27/28
Witnessing someone morph into a Patek-wielding, "Taj-only" espresso elitist might seem like watching a Cinderella story. But, while it's easy to dismiss such displays as cries for "look-at-me" validation, don't we all, at some level, yearn for something deeper amidst life's clamor? So the next time you're tempted to side-eye those flashy lawyers, remember, beneath those polished shoes and power ties, beats a heart, perhaps yearning for a smidgen of recognition in the courtroom of life. If that means shedding humble beginnings for a touch of Armani elegance, then so be it. After all, life’s a stage with its own set of dramas and the hallowed halls of law firms? Oh, they’re just another theater.
It's all rather amusing - the debate, I mean. Materialism is as good as spiritualism/asceticism/minimalism, and it’s really just a matter of choice. If a Seamaster or Yacht-master sets your heart aflutter like a teenager with a crush, by all means, splurge. But if your soul resonates with the simple ticks of an HMT Janta or a Casio, then rock that watch with every ounce of your being.
Let those with the material shine in their glory, and those without, have the empathy to appreciate the spectrum's other end.
I have a few friends who work at Infosys/ Adani, all through campus placements.
Please help me figure out how to go about scoring an internship at the firm as a Non-NLU kid with the chance of it converting into an assessment or a PPO.
Would be really grateful.
I think they should do it for all bagches.
IAS officers even at junior level get humble dwellings but in posh areas. A PA would spend half his salary just on rent to get a south mumbai/delhi apartment.
Currently interning with a senior. He is very kind and generous to me. Takes care of me by giving 8-10k as a stipend. Associated with him for a year now, will continue. I don't think he will deny paying 40-50k after investing 2-3 years upon me.
Note - He pays 20-25k to freshers.
Can you describe the stan scene at your NLUs or Jindal? Also, are there fan clubs on campus that we can join and do they organise parties and events? Will be useful to know before joining ....
koi tarika toh hoga na...
Want to leave this job but pune has very less vacancies with most of them wanting people with experience. My dream of financial independence continues to be a dream.

Unfair treatment against workers? Since when have the students treated the workers fairly? Just a week ago, false complaints were being made against the guards because the latter dared to interrupt students making out in the acad block. Your biggest problem is that you refuse to realise that your actions have consequences. You will vandalise university property and then expect to go scot free. If the guards are not stopping you from doing that, then yes they too are complicit, even if they do it out of fear. Did you have the guts to own up for the crime? All you took is the cowardly way out of writing mass mails with 200 people accepting 'responsibility' but certainly not the possibility of any disciplinary action against you. There are universities from which students have been expelled for such offences. After all that you will come crying asking for special treatment. Get your own act together first.
As for proper procedures, the Registrar certainly knows better about procedure than you do. Taking students' permission is not part of any university procedure, even if your seniors tell you otherwise. You guys don't study, wish every rule to be bent to suit your selfish interests and keep focusing on petty issues to divert focus away from the real issues like infra deficiency. People like you are responsible for there not being any real or systemic change.
