We want LI to be one of the friendliest places on the internet, where lawyers and law students help each other with their career related queries and occasionally discuss other stuff that might affect their lives too. In other words:
1. Be kind, respectful and helpful to each other.
2. Be bona fide, truthful, genuine and curious.
3. Assume the best intention of others.

I have had opportunity to sit on the other side of the table finally. Why are law students so incompetent these days? Half of them aren't able to write a paragraph without a hint of ChatGPT. Yar I will be happy if you are able to atleast hide the basic AI plagiarism checks, it's literally so apparant. Most of them don't know the meaning of a director in a company. They don't know basic English while explaining a concept? Mostly all of them begin to use complicated corporate terminology to explain simple terms like share capital to appear knowledgeable but fail to answer a scenario based question on the subject. Is something rotting from within? In my time I remember everyone atleast reading their own CV before an interview. Have people taken interviews as guarantees for jobs? please atleast read your CV even if you've faked it, which is very easy to discern tbh. Nobody is getting you to "advise the shareholders on the QIP". Par agar likhe ho, toh is it unreasonable to expect ki QIP ke regulations kahan hai, and its difference from IPO or PP. I didn't ask you Linklaters questions like FPI doing QIP in NBFC gone IPO types.
Is there a reason McKinsey stopped coming to NLS? Is there a reason for the dwindling number of VCs offered? and the general decline in PPOs and placements as well, even in a good market as now? Can partners attest to this, or is it just me being too cynical and critical? With more complex mandates coming in everyday, how can I train these students who are not willing to glance through ICDR chapters or a DRHP once or Companies Act?
Its honestly really hard to hire good candidates who I can trust with 10% of the work by delegating it.
1. Are my exp too high?
2. Have law students always been like that?
3. Did AI ruin all creativity and academic writing skills?
4. Is it wrong to test reasoning skills? Are their exams like that? No issue spotting?
5. Why dont they have commercial awareness? I can excuse this though. But I remember me and my friends scouring through papers reading up all recent events and scams before an Interview.
6. While I understand many people are not proficient in English, but basic sentence formation? How will they draft internal mails or call clients?
7. How are top law firms becoming so lax in offering internships these days? Or is usage of contacts on the rise? I read tier 1 M&A internships on a guy who couldn't answer differences between a private and public company? In my time firms would have very rigorous standards and we would rant endlessly.
8. Attitude, okay hear me out, I understand the 20s to 25 guy/ gal and their general persona and what they think of themselves, full of youth and energy. Not jealous, no hard feelings, nothing of this sort. But what's with the "I couldn't care less for law firms" attitude in a law firm interview? Also you applied to be at this table; read your own CV? I know law firm culture is bad and wlb is bad and all, but prepare HR questions? okay say the truth, I admire the honesty, but formulate proper English sentences?
Also you are 20, mid life kya quater life crisis ka bhi time nahi hai, cheer up buddy

If students find a better trade off in falling asleep in a class than listening to a prof, then that shouldn't have to be justified to anyone else.
If your worry is that it is disrespectful to the prof, then that very concept is eroded when the value you attach to the class is dependent only on your attendance, which happens to be pretty common when you impose mandatory attendance.
So as long as they manage their stuff, in whatever they way they chose to , and as long as it isn't affecting you in any manner, Why bother?
live and let live, they're literally at the end of the day 20 somethings who are only now dealing with life, and in whatever choices they make, the good and the bad, they learn from it.
P.s students threating to harm themselves is a miniscule portion which agreed is bs, students trying to butter profs is a phenomenon common since time immemorial and I've seen students struggle with their mental health and then perform pretty well once they start getting better. I might sometimes just be beneficial to take mental health claims seriously.
could also go for karnataka-Telangana-maharashtra too.
the worst would be gujrat, prohibition, lack of non veg cuisines, next to no sports culture, one has to work hard to find a worst destination for a sports tournament.
Shubho Pujo to everyone celebrating!
But I have read your comment and it takes me back to my university days. I just realized that I was an annoying person who practiced speeches before the camera and am difficult to work with. Or is it my imposter syndrome?
Anyway, borrowing words from another comment on LI - "the sting" - in your comment may trigger other softies like me.
Maybe you can do without "the sting".
So....
It is unlikely that most people here would understand or appreciate what you are saying and have gone through and/or are still going through. It is similar to (though different in more ways than one) the reservation debate. I cannot say that I fully understand the troubles that women in this country and society have to undergo every step of the way (though I do and always will keep trying to learn), but I have gone through several kinds of experience to learn why such protection is still very much the need of the day. Despite many of those protections having been there for quite some time, their effect is barely visible in the larger society. I don't even know where to begin about the efficacy of the existing rape laws, or the lack thereof. There is just no comparison between the two genders in the kind of treatment that they receive in society, daily lives, career. See, I don't know whether anything I write here will be of any help at all. However, I just wanted you to know that you don't have to fight this war all by yourself, there are allies outside your gender who stand firmly beside you. I don't have to approve of your every word, every piece of argument, every precedent cited, because it is not anyone's place including mine to stand in judgement of the way you choose to fight. The cause that you are fighting for is good enough to keep supporting, that's all. Change rarely arrives in a pretty fashion, nor does it have to.
Mention designation and office when you quote your salary. Any additional benefits?
How are IAPP certifications. Are they useful? Which IAPP certificate should I get to start my career in TMT Laws. It would be good if anyone can share experiences.
There are exceptions of course, a friend of mine did a 20 day internship in his 2nd year but he got it through contacts and not the usual email route.
If you don't have an answer then don't reply!
What areas should I look at to be able to crack a disputes internship/job interview and prepare to be a better lawyer?
Thanks!
However, on Ahmedabad being the host city, he says:
“Most host cities have been a country’s capital or one of its biggest cities. The exception was St Louis in the US, the host in 1904. If Ahmedabad is India’s preferred candidate city, as seems likely, it too would be an exception since it does not figure in the top five in India’s city rankings by population, area, gross domestic product, cleanliness, or safety for women. While it is a business and educational centre, it is not an airline hub, is less familiar with English, is mostly vegetarian, and has prohibition.”
So, should Ahmedabad be the host city? Why not Delhi NCR? It will soon have 4 airports (including Jewar), has hosted the Asian Games and Commonwealth Games before, and includes parts of UP and Haryana, which send the most athletes to the Olympics. If not Delhi NCR, then why not a joint bid by Mumbai/Pune or Bengaluru/Hyderabad or even Mumbai/Goa?

It is what it is.
Why? What prohibits them?
Just hoped it were so easy for guys asking girls, and not be subject to CASH or POSH proceedings.

IMO the videos actually show the reverse. Please note:
- Re video 1, the video clearly looks staged. She is looking into the camera and looks very conscious of the camera. It looks very artificial.
- Re video 2, it similarly looks staged. She says: "Nobody can love anyone the way I love my baccha (Henry)." How curious that she says this when a custody battle is on? Is it just a "coincidence" she said this and the camera "just happened" to be on? No way.
- Re video 1 and video 2, Henry doesn't doesn't lick her even once. That's uncharacteristic for a dog which supposedly loves someone.
I think we should ask why Jai had to record this conversation? How can anybody trust him after this if he just randomly records all one off calls?

They are becoming bigger than many firms? Just a few years ago Khaitan was making around 300 cr.
Try lawfinder if you are based in North India
To me, this is an indication that Modi and Adani will wreak havoc if the allegations are true.
That said i know gopal for long, and i doubt he had any malicious intent. He must have done it in good faith and then got sandbagged in court, without realizing he has put himself in an awkward position.
It also reflects very poorly on Jai Dehadrai. He is a fellow professional and should have gently put it to Gopal not to appear in the matter after having tried to mediate in the dispute, rather than acting nasty in court.
Anyways good luck to all of them.
NOTE: East Turkestan, not "Xinjiang" is the proper name.
