1. Be kind, respectful and helpful to each other.
2. Be bona fide, truthful, genuine and curious.

There is no guarantee of success in litigation even after 5-10 years. A lot depends on other factors.
Should I give NLUJ more preference and get a chance to be closer to home or put NUJS above?
The location of NLUJ would technically be more comfortable and for someone who's a sucker for privacy like me, the single rooms would be a boon. Tho, NUJS does have the advantage of being in middle of Kolkata.
If someone could guide me about the academic structure, student culture, sports culture, placements, etc. of these institutes without looking down on the other one, I would be extremely grateful.
The LLM hires from US law schools do not matter. Generally these do not stay after the first year in NDA.
I really don't know why the terrace was locked!! Enlighten me.
Do you know the no. Of students stuck with a bad roommate?
Are you sure you know the condition of each bathroom stall? Or you just know the one for your wing, not even your floor?
I consider myself to be quite attractive and intelligent, even if I do say so myself. What should I do? How should I approach him? Should I even approach him? I just can't get him out of my mind. I do not use Twitter so I cannot try to flirt with him there.
Some options:
- approach him seeking guidance/feedback on a piece I wrote (we are connected on LinkedIn and it wouldn't be too shady since he has an interest in this area)
- intern at the chambers he works at (I have been considering it anyway)
- approach him seeking career guidance (???? seems highly shady just typing it out)
- write more details about him in replies, hoping he reads these and figures out it's him and replies saying what to do
- wait and watch as LI devolves this into a guessing game about which college I am in, and then a debate about which NLUs constitute Tier 1 and which do not

Working days are Monday-Saturday, even on Sundays you can expect calls from the seniors.
Timings are 9:30-8:30 pm. Or May be you have to sit post 11:00 pm also.
All the best.
Please discuss on both SC/DHC lawyers. Any real life example would be really great. Is it really that difficult to survive, for a person with no contacts. I'm a first generation, and please I don't want to listen the usual rant about Nepotism, and how contacts work. Any genuine advice would be appreciated! Thanks for reading
I'm from a tier one NLU. During my third year, this was the firm where I chose to do my first corporate law internship. I had quite high expectations about the place but everything came crashing down ever since the day the internship commenced. Most of the blame is to be taken by their extremely toxic Principal Associate named ▮▮▮. (Mods please don't censor, people NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THIS MONSTER)
i) She gave me and my co-intern research propositions but almost whenever we asked for clarification she made sure to shoot us down in every single manner possible.
ii) She kept on insisting on the fact that this is our first corporate law internship and how we should be learning from it but her absolutely hostile behavior and total refusal to teach or clarify anything in the slightest made it impossible to do so.
iii) One day, while working in the conference room she suddenly entered, snatched my laptop to see all the tabs I had open just to check whether I am "actually working or not"!! What a fucking violation of privacy.
iv) She went as far as asking us about our clat ranks and 12th grade marks, specifically to find out if we are general category students or have "got into NLU because of reservation"
v) There's more instances where she acted outright unprofessionally but I am not comfortable stating more.
All of these happened quite a long time ago (around one year) but the reason why I am writing this post now is because she hasn't changed her ways whatsoever. Juniors from my university have went there to intern and ended up facing much worse. This PA is ultra toxic to everyone for no reason. Other than her, the firm doesn't have any problematic people but almost everyone is scared of her to a great extent. Anyway, the primary point of this post is to deter prospective interns from going there, because it won't be worth it AT ALL.
Following that, I have interned at several tier one firms, faced some toxic situations but it was nowhere as bad as what I had to undergo at this horror of a firm.
Was interested in learning about M&A. Wanted to know some of the boutique firms or tier 2/3 firms who are likely to hire me for internships. Can do both one month or long term, long term preferably. I have some experience but in RE and CM. Wanted to learn M&A. Tier 1 firms would not likely take me although some how managed to do a month at Tri.
I have no contacts, so any help or tips would be great. Thanks
He justified it to his friends because he felt that my friend spoke ill to him when he tried to intrefere in a 1st year student meeting. He also told me when i approached him to stop this nonsense that 'you guys will amount to nothing, because you are dumbfucks and dont know anything, and threatened to get us beaten and excluded'. When i still tried talking, his response was 'I know a lot of alums from ▮▮▮, and i will make sure you gusy dont even get an internship'.
I was even more surprised when this person was ▮▮▮ but still his batchmates and 'fan juniors ' stayed stuck to him. It is surprising that ppl in NLS are so morally abhorrent to support a bully and a harasser. How is that even supposed to give victims the confidence to come fwd if ppl stick to a sexual harasser who is consistently forcing the girl to spend time with him for a whole fucking year. textbook harassment and yet nothing being done by the student community. All this drama that he does in the name of ▮▮▮ is so bullshit that his own roommate called him a harasser but still no one does annything to help the freshers getting bullied and intimidated. The only reason to put it up here is that at least thhis might deter him and there is no serious physicial harm that we will fall prey to after all the mental and emotional fear and damage he has created. Plus we wanna be in a campus where we arent scared.
PLus this should also expose how seniors like these use the cover of mental health and inclusivity (▮▮▮ in this bully's case) to cover up their disgusting work

Competition is huge in every field these days
Moreover u need connections to get ur own briefs
People say that tenerally it takes 5-7 years but trust me success is not guaranteed even after that.
- Opposition vote split between CPIM/Congress coalition and BJP: 35 to 40% votes enough to win in many seats.
- Muslim and Hindu Matua (SC) votebank heavily consolidates in favour of TMC, which assures many seats
In 2019, she got a scare when the the BJP won 18/42 seats because the Matuas sided with BJP while the Congress won 2 seats because a section of the Muslims became unhappy with corruption and went with the Congress. But that’s unlikely to happen this time because both the BJP and Congress have squandered their goodwill and act at the the direction of their high commands in Delhi, which are clueless
Also what is the amount of stipend in the firm and which is the best office to work in?
Any help on the same would be Highly appreciated.
We live in strange and interesting times. In the good old days, the evil and corrupt got away with daylight robbery - but the people they governed knew better. Sometimes such rogues eventually even went to jail (even if they were jailed in luxury #laluprasadyadav). Today - all one has to do is call him/ her/themself a liberal and can get away with anything in the court of public opinion. Beyond pathetic!
In the end, make your own choices and be happy!
Also, a corporate law prof wrote a mail to the faculty critiquing the event, which has been shared with a few students. Below is the mail (name of the professor redacted). So please don't put Jindal in the same league as JNU, Jamia, Jadavpur, Ashoka etc. 🙏
Dear Colleagues,
As a university this is a space where any and all talks may and should happen. And I welcome this.
Even though I will not be attending this talk, I just wanted to make one point – it is, in my opinion, unwise to conflate Hamas and Palestinians, which is perhaps not what you intended in your message, but inadvertently have done by asking us to ‘keep in mind histories’.
Hamas is a terror group. While there may be difficulties in ascertaining what constitutes terrorism, I am certain that nobody in this group would see the attacks on October 7 carried out by Hamas agents and live-streamed with joy, as anything but terrorism. They even fight under their own flag, not the Palestinian flag. Whether the Indian government ever feels comfortable going ahead and recognizing them as a terrorist organization or not, I think almost everyone agrees with such an assessment of what happened on October 7. Irrespective of the histories.
Also, thank you for sharing the letter from Birzeit University. It is heartbreaking. But one point about that letter should be mentioned – the Israeli government has not called Palestinians ‘human animals’. They have been calling Hamas that.
All this being said, I want to again state that I am very deeply troubled and affected by the impact that this is having on Gazans. I am not trying to make a political statement of any kind. Although someone might certainly read it as that in these fraught times. I am just trying to suggest we should try to not conflate Hamas and its actions on October 7 with the Palestinians and their cause.
@kian Please post it
There is a difference between taking revenge and ensuring that the terrorist organisation that massacred innocent civilians is ceasing to exist. Allowing terrorists to keep doing what they do is morally wrong. even if you like the aesthetics of it. If tomorrow some terrorists were coming into your town and killing your babies and raping your sisters and torturing your men and kidnapping your grandma- would you want the state to sit on its hands and do nothing? Or would you want them to destroy the terrorist organisation that did that to you?
When it comes to the state- When a group of religious terrorists explicitly say they want to kill jews, that they dont believe in any two state solution, when that group goes on to actually kill jews. I think its honestly noble for israel to defend its citizens and its existence. I think ANY loss of civilian life in a war is terrible- but it is a war. It is a war israel has tried to avoid time and time again but they cannot avoid it because the other guys love their kids less than they hate jews. And hamas does use these people as human sheilds- Israel does more than any other country to prevent civilian casualties - If they really wanted to "genocide" palestinians- with israels military- there would be no palestinians left in the middle east. They have in the past demonstrated that while they are in a difficult situation they are doing the best they can. It would not be civil or moral to let terrorists kill your people and destroy your country. Legit governments have a duty to protect their citizens even if that means war against terrorist organisations who seek to destroy them. Thats why you have a government, thats why you have a military. If they failed to do that they would be feckless and corrupt.

Fuck recruitments. Remember, these firms and companies need us more than we need them. They will suffer if they boycott NLUs and JGLS and instead recruit from Amity and GLC.
Anyway this is irrelevant since the email mentions nothing about supporting Hamas at all. Let's see what is actually said at the event tomorrow.
Just focus on your grades. Attend the event if you want, avoid it if you don't. Just don't indulge in any violent activity that will reflect in your disciplinary record or get you named in an FIR.
Most of the time, you'd be sitting idle or searching for car spare parts for the MP.
You'd be better off working for a Jolly LLB kind in Karkardooma.
