We want LI to be one of the friendliest places on the internet, where lawyers and law students help each other with their career related queries and occasionally discuss other stuff that might affect their lives too. In other words:
1. Be kind, respectful and helpful to each other.
2. Be bona fide, truthful, genuine and curious.
3. Assume the best intention of others.

Of course, it's very tough to get in, especially if you are in the general category and need to clear a high cut-off. As backup, you can think about other old universities, like Mumbai University, Pune University etc.
It looks interesting but suffers from Tharoorenza.
I donβt understand why canβt lawyers write in simple and plain English.
100% he wrote himself no ghost writer likes like this.
Will read when I have more patience but treat this as a warning for anyone else who finds how lawyers write annoying.
If this was written in English I could have recommended this to many non-law folks also.
So I started applying to Firms. But candidates like me are stuck in the classic loop -
' No experience = no job , no job = no experience AND non-Nlu = no internship, no internship = No job''
Kya karein yaar ?
NLS no longer the Harvard of the East but the Nalsar of Bangalore :D
It may be bad taste depending on the type of engagement, but the argument of the HCW is not that it is bad taste, but that it has violated privacy (it has not) and is an offence against women. From the T&C: "As Bumble is a public community, Your Content will be visible to other users of the App all around the world instantly - so make sure you are comfortable sharing Your Content before you post."
2. International Organisations?
3. Full-time (not part time lol) research assistants at IVY?
4. Under honourable judges and eminent senior advocates?
All in all this book is a good read. Will love to read it again!
Now I see her for at least 8 hours everyday, I wish I could go back to the earlier arrangement :P

Corporate Madoori karte karte ye bhul gaye ho ke pyaar naam ki koi cheez hoti hai?
Anti muslim eminent intellectual.
Intellectual who tries to push the Neo-Buddhist narrative that vedic age never existed and India was always buddhist.
Eminent for sure.
An international sport (albeit only a handful of countries take cricket seriously) is the competition between elites, reservation will destroy Indian cricket, and more people will exit the country to play for a "fairer" country, and tbh no country would think twice before accepting the likes of Iyer or Ashwin.
Instead Dalit cricketers can be given some reservation in BCCI run academies etc, but not on national level, absolutely no.

Kisi aur se lele real answers phir.
There was a BCI inspection and approval of the course earlier this year, the inspection was hilarious (due to technical issues) but the approval was granted and that is what matters.
I love LI but strongly advise LI to double check before publishing threads which might be considered as baseless rumours
I agree with both your points @Baba Yaga. KCO teams are not dependant on Mumbai or Delhi. They happen to work with them based on the needs of the project. Nothing I said is cardinal truth but just an overview.
I have issues with the entire pay structure and low ball negotiations that F&M engages in. Hence, I am biased in this regard and would never join that place.
LKS does LKS things. Pays well, decent mentors and how your worklife will be depends a lot on the team. HSA.....really? They only have one banking practice team that is somehow still surviving. They do not pay their associates and the entirety of LegallyIndia is rife with the abject abuse that the firm continues to mete out to its dear associates. That said, the partner is not a really decent mentor either and throws their weight around a lot.
I am an A3 at a T1 shop but was brought up in Kolkata. I wish I could come back home and stay here rather than hanker down on the work for another 1L salary. Word of advice: If you do not have loans to pay, and do not have a very specific ambition, don't join T1s or T2s just for the sake of the money. It takes a toll on you and you will lose more than just hairs. A lot of us think its fine that way and maybe it is to some. The crux is, whatever you do, choose wisely.
Also, please put back helpful posts on LegallyIndia. I know a lot of people could have made this objective list way better than the way I stitched it up. Stop fighting over your NLU ranks and make some proper suggestions for careers y'all. Helps us all man.
2. Ideally how many months should I intern in a year ?
2. And, is it necessary to intern throughout the year or some months off here and there is fine ?
Academics discuss all sorts of things in the classroom - I donβt have a problem with her talking about endogamy or mating choices. I have a problem with how stupidly she did it.
When academics talk about the drug laws they donβt bring cocaine into the classroom, when they talk about gay rights they donβt show you videos of people having sex. When they talk about abortion rights they donβt show you videos of abortions. Somehow - theyβre manage to talk about all of these difficult things using long form articles, case law , social sciences research etc etc.
Why is it ever necessary to show anyones bumble profile to a class ? Please explain what utility it serves.
Each story pivots around Edamarra Edwin and his detective-style approach to solving problems; but while each story is a separate episode, with its own thrills, together they all cumulatively reveal a lot about its enigmatic protagonist and the world he inhabits.

DJS and AILET are on sthe ame date.
- Some large law firms are indistinguishable from multilevel marketing gigs. Like Amwayβs homecare hucksters, each batch of a firmβs associates gives up a part of its earnings to pay for those before.
- 'We swim in different waters, so his incontinence doesnβt bother me,β Edwin said to the brooding Rottweiler that was presiding over the firmβs Sexual Harassment Committee, struggling the whole time to remember whom she resembled.
- In her first year of law school, Anjali Mathur was fired with a bolshie disdain for the stifling, bourgeois mediocrity all around her. The exact pathways of young dissent were hazy to her now, but they had all led to a combination of ganja, men, and computer games.
Can't imagine that a corporate lawyer wrote this stuff - did he hire a ghost writer?
Thus, if NLSIU fail to win this year, the drought will be 7 years, not 6.
If a team can't field 2 such players, the opposing team should be awarded 50 penalty runs in a test, 25 in an ODI and 15 in a T20. Sounds pretty fair to me.
Also, CG does not reveal marks of prelims and mains, I don't understand on what basis is the selection done.
I have personally seen TNNLU kids, won't say they are the best when it comes to talking or even presentation, but their work is pretty neat. Also, they are indeed very humble. I think it has to do with the culture back there too.
I have seen kids from DSNLU too and it is fair to say that TNNLU students fare much better. DSNLU is also heavily ridden with reservations, but I have seen the pathetic batch quality and poor performance in internships barring a few kids. I remember some co-interns from DSNLU who actually left a bad impression because of their conduct, constant roaming around, failure to maintain courtroom decorum, poorly dressed etc. all this in a judicial internship lol.
There is this huge language problem that I noticed in TN, where a majority of these kids are not able to speak English fluently nor do they have the exposure.
TNNLU on the other hand may have a lot of reservations etc. but still has kids that actually cleared CLAT and do have decent exposure. I won't say they are pretty great when it comes to advocacy and even communication but their work submitted in internships is pretty decent and consistent.
In other words, a return to Gen X and Gen Y culture.
As a corporate lawyer, I found the book quite enjoyable and thought that the solutions found in each story were quite brilliant. A partners job is to know the law but to also know the situation better so as to apply and bend it as required to meet the client's requirements. Overall a very good read I thought although one does need to keep a dictionary at hand!
