Sometimes I think Gen Z has wasted their advantages. You people have 24x7 access to knowledge much greater than what we did, and also more awareness as a result. But I think while we had physical ragging and homo phobia then, we also had a lot of kindness. I don't see that nowadays. Even though there may not be physical ragging, people are just engaged in cyber bullying and "toxicity" to use your words.
I really want to focus on prioritising my mental health. Please suggest firms/specific teams where there is a hybrid work model/good work life balance.
Please don't respond saying suck it up or this doesn't exist. I've heard Burgeon Law is one such place. If you can help, pls do, I'm in need of a job but I don't want to lose my health anymore.
Did you hear about the news where a former Judge of karnataka High court gave someone a bribe of 6 crore for a gubernatorial appointment.
The person who took bribe was arrested, but no inquiry on where the judge got the money.
Bansal is from a feudal landlord family who used to wear clothes costlier than the VCs car (ford Ikon)!
Kian stop protecting the Richie rich !
I thought trollish comments remain published like in all other threads.
Why the special treatment for this thread? If it’s question of funding, please start a “go fund me” page and I promise you will make much more than what Bansal and her congress cronies have offered you.
Bansal is not from a middle-class family. She is from a landlord's family. She has never had to worry about finances and rather is part of the Lutyens elite.
If she gets a ticket to stand for parliamentary elections that is at the back of the donation her landlord family provides to Raga.
I hope LI publishes this comments and Kian doesn't get bought out.
Peace

A request to junior batches- Boys/Girls, we have established (and will be trying) nujs as a corporate hub. We have very amazing ABS scholars (who applied as freshers to double droppers) and that’s visible. Don’t ruin the consistency. This is after a substantial period of time when Nujs is going without a win. Try harder. Peace out 👍

Shanti Bhushan: Eight chief justices were corrupt: Ex-law minister - The Economic Times (indiatimes.com)
This is the first time they are participating. And they did participate and knocked out NLIU and Nujs and right ahead.
NLSIU as usual bagged the highest number of ABS scholarships (5 out of 7- not bad)
NALSAR and NLUJ remained pretty consistent. So as GNLU
Congrats NLU Delhi for making it into the first time in ABS.
What’s shocking is that around 6 people applied for the NUJS ABS scholarship and none of them got one! What went wrong? Maybe someone can explain.
All in all meritorious students getting selected day by day. Good job!

1) TT&A is very very selective when it comes to hiring which is natural considering the fact that it is a 50-55 lawyers firm (talking about the Mumbai office). They don't have a lot of vacancies because of relatively lower attrition.
2) Internships are not that difficult to secure. You can apply 5-6 months in advance and if you have a decent CV, you will make it. However, college does matter. (It shouldn't but it does!)
3) As far as work during internships is concerned, it depends. Sometimes, the interns are overworked whereas at times there's no work at all.
4) My personal experience of working with the firm has been great. Hours are way better, pay is equivalent and the people are great. However, the banking team is overworked and has longer hours.
All in all it is a great firm if you want to focus on other things in life and NOT take a hit on your pay.
So yeah, vetting of team and partner from your end should be the priority, the rest you will figure out as you start working.
NLS (I hope, don’t know for sure) remains in the race,
2:30 Manshoor Nazki, Cap marks partner at Indus.

3:08 Sowmya Kumar, Partner at Indus
3:52 Brajendu Bhaskar, Cap marks Partner at Trilegal
3:58 Nikhil Chary, Corp Partner at Addleshaw
5:10 Manish Agarwal, Partner at Three Crowns
8:10 Neha Mahyavanshi - GC, Syngene
10:14 Shehryar Khanum, Ex-CAM, Entrepreneur.

But I hope it ends well for you regardless of you decide to make contact or not. Peace, keep hustling friend.
MS has baniya but dil se punjaabi. balle balle MS
thats exactly what partners are looking for kid.
Also next time you are arrested without charge on UAPA, please tell your lawyer that they are dispensable
I've just wanted to inform that I had completed an internship with SAM in the ECM team quite recently, which came through a generous reference. The period was scheduled at a perfect timing with a lot of filing work, as would happen at the end of a financial quarter, but also because of the random equity cash surge which saw almost the same number of IPOs in a quarter month as which averaged over the past few years.
Work allocation- In the two weeks confirmed, albeit virtual, I was assigned a lot of work, with increasing quality and depth as well as seniority on the assignor associates. I was given really good feedback as well everyday, as I reached out to everyone in the lower rung of the team everyday, and the single PA (hinting to the location of this team) and Partner on the Fridays, informing them about the work I had done and my intention to be called back based on my feedback.
I was absolutely positive about a callback (first internship) as the question of vacancies does not arise at this stage atleast (Or does it?). However the team has ghosted me since and the HR is absolutely confused as to everything, which I take the hint as not being recommended for a callback?
Now I understand the subjectivity in standards I have mentioned over here, but assuming that my self-assessment, coupled with the consistent feedback from the team in the duration of the internship; also aligned (assuming) with objective work quality standards which in the usual turn of events should have translated to a callback?
What went wrong? I am definitely not making this a rant post or crying for attention, but just that I was absolutely prepared everyday and have given my everything there was for the work assigned, and it did reflect in the feedback as well. But what am I doing wrong? Is it the fact that it was via a reference? Or the fact that it was virtual? Or that the partner/ PA didnt get to give me work?
( I am from a top tier NLU, so that wasn't the issue, and my batch rank is glorious)
Wadia, Bharucha, Federal deserves to be included.
Secondly, it's largely a toxic and insecure batch unlike any other
Most importantly, it has officially symbolised the end of an upswing for Gnlu which lasted for more than half a decade.
Hence, it is a subject of ridicule on LI and elsewhere, so as to give others an example on how 'not to be'
As you can see, the statement criticises the admin for not supporting her and explains that the Bumble account was an attempt to illustrate biases in society.
Statement in Solidarity with Dr. Prof. Sameena Dalwai
=====================================================
This Statement is addressed to the administration of O.P. Jindal Global University, the Vice Chancellor of the University, and whomsoever other authority it may concern. This Statement is undersigned by former and current students/faculty of O.P. Jindal Global University who have been fortunate enough to share space with Dr. Professor Sameena Dalwai in some form or the other, whether inside the classroom or outside. The purpose of this communication is to address the recent series of onslaughts that have been directed at Dr. Prof. Dalwai in order to bring into question her character and credibility. Numerous accusations have been levelled against her on the basis of emails, screenshots and recordings of her that have been captured and circulated without her consent. It is unfortunate and absolutely unacceptable that the email constituted a private conversation between colleagues and the screenshots and recordings were shot during class hours, while in class and in the middle of lectures, violating every form of professional and classroom decorum and discipline. What is even more unfortunate is that this is not the first time that something like this has happened, and perhaps it will not be the last time. Snippets of lectures by other professors have also previously been captured and circulated on social media, completely out of context, for the sole purpose of targeting the professor's personal or political beliefs through the means of character assassination. What is most unfortunate, and what has also encouraged such untoward behaviour among students is that the University has utterly failed in its duty to discipline the perpetrators. The erring students (and perhaps also faculty members) must be made aware that capturing and/or circulating photographs and videos of persons without their consent is a serious violation of privacy and will be met with serious consequences.
From a bare perusal of the screenshot of the email sent by Dr. Prof. Dalwai, it is quite clear that its sole purpose was to safeguard the Safe Space policy, which is sacred to the University, to any University. As the email reveals, her tolerance of slogans and events she disagrees with is a testament to her commitment towards the same. An educational institution, particularly for higher education, is truly successful if it can guarantee an open exchange of ideas between diverse kinds of persons. Its success is also marked by the students’ engagement and understanding of larger affairs which go far beyond their classrooms. Similarly, a teacher’s duty extends beyond mere completion of syllabus. It encompasses the duty of imbibing values which will encourage students to take informed, empathetic, progressive and productive decisions and actions in life. Those of us who have encountered Dr. Prof. Dalwai inside a classroom, know of her commitment towards the same. The classroom exercise of creating a Bumble account was undertaken in a similar spirit. Through the exercise, she sought to facilitate a discussion on the pervasiveness of caste, class and other identities in different spheres of one’s life. The Bumble account was deleted in the same session. Unsurprisingly, this context and background has completely been obliterated from the narrative, which only seeks to villainise Dr. Prof. Dalwai as a punishment for her personal views. It is also pertinent to note that the University follows a strict protocol of anonymous complaints (unless the complainant consents to be identified), whether it be against students or the faculty. If any person has any grievance against Dr. Prof. Dalwai, they should and must bring it to the notice of the administration, and the latter must deal with any erring faculty member according to its rules and regulations.
At this point we must also address the allegations and comments publicised by Ms. Renu W. Bhatia, the Chairperson of the Haryana State Commission for Women, though we found it unnecessary and unfit to address her in the capacity of her post. The reasons for that are three-fold. First, despite being an authority figure, instead of professionally addressing the matter with sensitivity, she has quite shamefully turned it into a spectacle and a social media trial, constantly posting defamatory material against Dr. Prof. Dalwai without giving her any opportunity to explain herself. Second, there is not one allegation against Dr. Prof. Dalwai which even prima facie points to any gender-based misconduct. Third, we refuse and refute, staunchly, the assumption that the girls and the women of this country and this University are so fragile that they will be harmed in any manner by mere discussions on politics. It is feudal, paternalistic, patriarchal and archaic to think that the dignity of a woman is preserved in her "innocence" and ignorance of world affairs, the same world of which she aspires to be an active member. Students are not empty vessels to be filled with half-baked knowledge through monologues and mindless myths. Students, irrespective of gender, make the future of this country and of the international community. Creating space for discourse, dialogue and debate on topics which plague the world at large does not constitute ‘harm in the guise of education’. It is education. It is a duty. It is a right. A constitutional one which, much like the proponents of true education, is under grave threat. Students and Professors, as they always have, must rise to the occasion to stand guard against such alarming attacks. This Statement is a humble attempt at that, and it shall serve as a record of our collective conscience.
"I do not understand the brouhaha around @Infosys_nmurthy statement on a 70 hour work week . What is wrong with it ?...If India has to truly become a great power one or even two generations have to make 70 hours a week their work ethic. 70 hours a week with one day off & 15 days of vacations in one year must become the norm."

The curriculum in most places is outdated, people can't find internships and toppers are generally suckers who sit on first bench and make gossip makeout with professors. Judge people by their publications and internships but by ranks which are crammed and puked section generated.
Assholes like you who I'm not sure who you're pretending to be, need to understand the struggle a private college goes to grab that one internship which shitpots like you throw off in no time. You'll hire NLS people who'll leave for LLM in 6 months but won't leave a chance to badmouth a what might be a deserving person, good going dim dims. No wonder you don't want foreign law firms to enter
Please could u answer my question if option (1) is feasible ?
2. batch rank 15 in a private college is really bad, I asked you to explain yourself
3. So you r saying that u will leave the firm and move abroad if u were to be hired?
4. No slots aren't open. Who told u this? Whoever told u this, ask then u r filling to fill their slots
But you did not answer the question
