We want LI to be one of the friendliest places on the internet, where lawyers and law students help each other with their career related queries and occasionally discuss other stuff that might affect their lives too. In other words:
1. Be kind, respectful and helpful to each other.
2. Be bona fide, truthful, genuine and curious.
3. Assume the best intention of others.

The problem with law firms is one doesn't need any intelligence to carry out legal work, that's why focus shifted to who is having more contacts, network, influencer, pedigree, money power etc.
I've seen class 10 passed clerks earning 12 lpa based on their experience and soft skills.
Not the case with other professions requiring some hard skills.
In law, there's only one skill which will be focused on, your name.
Baki to one third of all lawyers are not having valid law degrees and touts have been earning 50k p.m. for cases they refer.
So, better make your own name.
Niche likhna yuva neta.
So, I have 2 options:-
(1) to intern in few boutiue corporate law firms in Delhi / Mumbai and hope that I get an employment in those firms and try to scale up corporate ladder, or
(2) To exit Law and join CA
Problem with option (1) is that I can not intern much for like 1 year . I can not sustain myself for long without much payment. Another issue is that I am seeking Work-Life Balance also as I will be married soon.I can not perform in super hectic environment for several years (1-3 years is fine). Is it possible to scale up from small firms in Delhi / Mumbai and become Partner ?
Problem with (2) is that CAs also dont have Work life balance and that the course is long in itself !
So, which one of the two options is more feasible ?
I will suggest OP to consider NUS after Oxbridge/UCL. The application link is provided above. Prepare all and all the best for Clat!

Tuition per annum is Β£25,750 (https://www.durham.ac.uk/study/courses/law-m101/#fees-and-funding) and cost of living would be Β£9000, so cost per year should be budgeted at Β£35000, so the total cost in 3 years would be 1.05 crore INR, there will be some India specific scholarships but nothing will bring it down to half of the cost
the problem with pursuing UG in the UK is low availability of scholarships, they are few and far between for international students. There are some unis which have UG scholarships for international student where they reduce it to the UK level of Β£9250 pa, but there is no consolidated list and these are dependent on individual schools so you should look at each school and have a chat with the admissions tutor at all LNAT schools and ask them if they would have a scholarship or partial fee waivers.
For how long do I jeed to intern? i am trying to make career in Gen Corp + M & A
Any thoughts?
What's ur past exp?
Isn't it too boring, what makes it interesting for you?
Which year, which college?
What's ur batch rank? (If not in top 10, why is ur rank so low?)
So just a cosmetic "punishment" to soothe some egos and fool BJP supporters, that's it.

So the obvious question is whether law schools should aggressively clamp down on smoking. For example, impose a Rs 1,000 fine for smoking on campus and enforce it rigorously. Or, if you prefer a non-penal approach, have posters all over campus which de-glamorise smoking: messages which say smoking makes guys impotent and makes girls ugly by ageing their skin.
The biggest problem is that Gen Z kids are imitating celebs and influencers and taking up smoking. They need to be shown non-photoshopped images of 50 year old celebs who have been lifelong smokers. Some of them look like corpses.
Be honest that you tried T1 didn't get so again applied after waiting for months.
Other then chit chats with Feroz dubash who was witty and funny this was a task to cross these 4 weeks.
delhi office corporate team pays between 6 -7 lacs pa (including bonus). note that bonus will be delayed by 1 year or more and will be released in tranches
Please upvote so Kian can actually include this, these kids have so much free time and keep spamming wrong information misleading everyone. Kid, even including luthra in this list leaves out all credibility.
Although Trump is a loose cannon, there are three reasons why a Trump presidency could be good for India:
1. He is fixated on helping big businesses grow through lax regulation. A strong American economy could lead to more outsourcing of jobs to India.
2. He is anti-China and openly says that Covid came from a lab. If he clamps down hard on China, that could encourage companies to offshore manufacturing to India instead.
3. He has good relations with Modi.

2. Generally poor, most of them don't pay UGC scales and they also overwork you. Applyfor a public college/university as far as possible.
3. For public universities they put out recruitment notifications on their website. You need to keep checking periodically.
2. I've asked around. Without a NET I was offered 25k per month, with NET around 40k and guest lecturer 1500 per lecture.
3. Do your Masters+NET+PhD and start looking for vacancies. Amity, for example, always has vacancies going on. Find connections in academia or outside who know when and where a post is vacant. Guest lecturer posts are plenty as the university doesn't have to pay for a permanent post. Private universities are easier, as their money doesn't come from the state or central govt and vacancies therefore are not sparse. Plus the vacancies increase, as most new professors are still trying for judiciary or shift to litigation after a few years. Teaching is just time pass for them, till they get a better job.
4. UGC NET is conducted twice a year by NTA. Go through the syllabus, go through the exam structure and go through the PYQs and start studying. They might introduce negative marking soon, so clear the exam as quickly as possible.
P.S. Pursue teaching only if you have the passion. Don't join it if you have nothing else to do, instead join litigation. Please don't be a mediocre teacher and ruin the upcoming generation. All the best.
Star tier- S&R, IndusLaw, Trilegal, KCo, AZB
Tier 1- SAM, CAM, JSA, TT&A, ICUL Funds.
Tier 2- ELP, Saraf, Bharucha, satellite offices of tier 1s and star tiers, LKS.
Ps- I was an online only intern so experiences might vary for the in office interns. Glad I didn't join this place and actually happy with my AZB for now.
Would be a really good score for BTG Legal.
2. This tier one university crap needs to stop. What matters are the lateral guys with real experience, not the fresher tier-1 guys with absolute no knowledge of how the law works outside the make believe world of moots and MUNs.
2) CAM
3) KCO
4) Trilegal
5) AZB
6) IndusLaw
7) JSA
8) Luthra
9) Saraf
10) TT&A
11) S&R
These are all the tier-one law firms in India.
Can someone please Answer following queries:
1. Does UGC-NET Law suffice in getting a good college?
2. How much is the pay scale in private places, after qualifying NET?
3. How does the recruitment process works?
It would be really helpful, if someone can help out, on how to plan after UGCNET Law.
- A boy student (acting as a husband) slaps a girl student (acting as his wife)
- The girl student-wife complains to another girl student (acting as a lawyer)
- The girl student-lawyer informs the "audience" (class) about X provision of the law and complains to another boy student (acting as a judge)
- The boy-student judge convicts the boy student-husband and cites A vs B Supreme Court case to further enlighten the audience.
As for how Sameena rose to such a senior level and received foreign research grants, the answer is a combination of her excellent contacts/network and the subject she specialises in. Just submit a research proposal on corporate mergers vs a proposal on violence against Dalit women to foreign research bodies. 99% of the time the latter proposal will be awarded a grant.
Way to go buddy.
