We want LI to be one of the friendliest places on the internet, where lawyers and law students help each other with their career related queries and occasionally discuss other stuff that might affect their lives too. In other words:
1. Be kind, respectful and helpful to each other.
2. Be bona fide, truthful, genuine and curious.
3. Assume the best intention of others.

Pay is good, but again chambers of nepo guys
PQE 0-4 - 10-20L
PQE 4-7 - 15-35L
PQE 7-10 - 35-60L
PQE 10-15 - 60-120L
PQE 15+ - 80-350L
All salaries subject to 35% tax above 15L.
Anybody who has worked there has any idea/insights? Also how can one approach him to get in his chamber?
Not from Delhi, but pretty sure Rajshekhar Rao would top the list. But who else? Getting into RRao's chamber as an outsider would be pretty difficult I assume.
Now Idk about the scene in other place, but the scene in Calcutta is the worst. There's no pay, no opportunities and no briefs for juniors. Mind you, I'm talking strictly about litigating chambers of SA or promising junior counsels.
I'm assuming that's the norm pretty much everywhere. But I've heard postive things about the Delhi scene. Recently came across the Rajshekhar Rao's interview and thought why don't I give Delhi a try.
Any advice/leads/suggestions on the same?
Thanks!
Law firms tend to be less chill.
If you really want to do wonders and earn decently in this field, then try getting an opportunity with a reputed Advocate. Much better to go into litigation than these shitty law firms.
Kudos.

If this ain't toxic, then what is. A profession, which with/without our knowledge engage us to continuously think about only clients, deliverables, projects, assignments, law school and other things, such that we have not spared occassions/festivals to not talk about it and spend time with our loved ones without distraction, is a testimony of the cruel future which we have become.
Please help. I am confused.

Why NLU faculty and students oppose this??
Palestine common people are suffering and we must have sympathy for them. Our government is providing humanitarian aid. But many of them are guilty of harbouring and supporting this terrorist organisation called Hamas.
High time for the whole world to fight and eliminate all these terrorist organisations like Hamas, Hizbollah, ISIS, etc.
If Israel wishes to kill Palestinians indiscriminately as it is doing now, it should formally wage war against Palestine. Let's see how the international community supports it then. As of now, it is doing so in the name of attacking terrorists, but killing thousands of civilians and innocents every day in the process.

Pros: Financially non-corrupt; Hiring alumni and other faculty with good credentials; Improving the website; Seeking funding from alumni.
Cons: Arrogant and stubborn; anti-law firm attitude and resistance to skills-based education; expanding intake and destroying the historical character of NLSIU as a small, close-knit community.
In the event the termination is on account of your non-satisfactory performance, organisation may terminate you on that ground, as performance related ground/s are not treated as stigmatic.
However, if the reason for such termination is on account of some disciplinary reason, they would not be able to terminate you on that ground, without first undertaking a disciplinary proceeding and allowing you to defend.
They may still terminate you, without specifying anything in your termination letter, and can claim the termination to not be 'stigmatic', on account of actual disciplinary reason having not been mentioned. However, you could establish that 'motive' was the disciplinary reason.
All said and done, and considering you are in your probation period, it may make sense to opt for resignation, unless you think the reason is disciplinary and you want to fight the long battle.

As far as notable alumni go, we have enough folks, all the way from SC AORs to foreign scholarship holders and UPSC toppers. Who on earth does IITKGP even have except some failed engineers?
Karnataka State Law School India University (KSLSIU), Maharashtra State Law University (MSLU), or West Bengal State University of Juridical Sciences (WBSUJS) sounds right.
Nevertheless, TNNLU students are consistent in their Tier-1 Corporate Responses, and placements are increasing. IPC is constantly under dynamic improvement and devoid of stagnation after Mr. Nideesh took charge as Dean. The newbie young lineup of faculty (all in the 24-26 age bracket) who joined early this year all have credible backgrounds. In reality, they teach well in the classroom and prepare students mentally to face testing firm culture (when they will be placed one day) along with academic progress like conversion of an original research project into good DPBR Publications. Some of them even constantly remind students of their previous semester to publish the projects written under their guidance.
As many recent threads on LI indicate, TNNLU culture is non-toxic, and humbleness flows in the undercurrent of the students' collective attitude, it is indeed true. I understand that comes with a tinge of subjectivity, but the overall atmosphere is lawyer-friendly and largely sensitises mental health and well-being.
Assuming TNNLU recruits more experienced faculty (There are 0 Professors other than the VC and Registrar who do not teach and only 1 Associate Professor) based on seniority and makes permanent assistant professors (many youngsters are ad hoc), the academic atmosphere will even become more excellent and consistent.
All students have plenty of opportunities to participate in one official program or the other. I will not comment on the specificity of day-to-day problems faced in TNNLU hostels as these are subjective or temporary (although pain is sometimes real). But all NLUs have their own downsides, so it is unfair to call TNNLU's choice based on hostel-life, which is NOT BAD in an extensive opinion pool.
So, given what it has, and what it plans, and what it may end up in 2030, TNNLU IS INDEED A SERIOUS THING TO CONSIDER.
Please do not join this firm. I have worked in this firm and found it to be one of the most toxic firm. Partners are rude, mean and toxic. They don't have much work at all. A family run firm, so please avoid it.

Same thing for writing. I found writing case commentaries to be useful practice. Even if you don't publish them your writing will improve and you will learn some more law in the process.
From what i gather, a lot of people waiting until April 01 to give notice
Is it possible to merge all these related threads so that all discussion on the same topic is consolidated rather than being scattered and cluttering up the home page?
Now , I am not from NLU. I realized that I would like to work in a law firm and be part of general corporate and mergers and acquisition team.
Law firms are not even replying back to my emails. I am not even getting internship responses !
Due to these reasons, I am considering to do CA at this age . I am seeking guidance strictly from Lawyers working in corporate law firms. Do i have a chance at corporate law firms ? How should I go about it ?
