Now Idk about the scene in other place, but the scene in Calcutta is the worst. There's no pay, no opportunities and no briefs for juniors. Mind you, I'm talking strictly about litigating chambers of SA or promising junior counsels.
I'm assuming that's the norm pretty much everywhere. But I've heard postive things about the Delhi scene. Recently came across the Rajshekhar Rao's interview and thought why don't I give Delhi a try.
Any advice/leads/suggestions on the same?
Thanks!
Baaki khoob struggle hai
You may make it big or may not
I wonder how these corp law associates at firms do?
Recently saw on LinkedIn where a associate resigned from a T1 firm due to harrasment and mental pressure. Created quite a buzz on the platform.
Guys who resign and make a show of it , find other firms , maybe lower ranked.
Only get into litigation if u have good finances at home and will be fine roaming court corridors for atleast next 5 years earning little or no money.
It must also be fine that u will be get married while litigating. Like girls side should be fine that ur self earning is low or zero. Because trust me litigation has low/no income for several years and u have to :-
1. First learn
2. Implement what u learn in ur SENIORS OFFICE
3. Build name and reputation in niche area of law
4. Build your own practise
5. EXIT from seniors office and make ur own team
Ye sab karne me time lagta hai dude.
1-2 saal ka kaam nai hai
LI me log aise hi nai bolte baar baar ki litigation nepo lawyers k liye hai
I have been litigating but now switching to teaching. Goodluck !
