what is this country about bro?
And is Claude or Legora helping with full drafting and research or just incidental work?
Thanks :)
To let young students do as they please without consequences is not about caring for them- it’s about taking the easy way out as the admin and a teacher.
We talked about sir/ma'am culture and you had to bring "Alumni".
Dear sir, as a first year, are we forgetting the glorious open house ?
Also funny how earlier they used to offer ₹7,500 stipend, but now interns are apparently “not worth it.” Meanwhile, people coming from other cities are easily spending ₹15–20k just to stay there.
Overall, not a great experience. If you’re looking for actual mentorship or a healthy work environment, you might want to think twice.
Coming to the implications for the legal world, this means that everyone associated with the TMC is now persona non grata. Whether it's the board of NUJS of the board of the WB Bar Council, there will be a total purge.
Nandimath deliberately stayed away all this while. Now he will be active and become a BJP supporter, knowing that it may bring him gains like VC-ship of NLUD or GNLU.
Aspiring lawyers blitz City firms with doughnuts in TikTok stunt
Two women drop pastry boxes at leading Square Mile legal practices, using social media clips to try to catch recruiters’ attention

Thursday April 30 2026, 6.50pm, The Times
With starting salaries for City lawyers approaching £200,000, competition for jobs is fierce, prompting two prospective candidates to employ a novel approach to getting noticed.
In arguably the most modern spin on a job application, two young women have posted videos on TikTok as they blitz some of the biggest law firms in the Square Mile, dropping off piles of boxes of glistening Krispy Kreme doughnuts.
In one video, posted under the name Alini on the social media site, the women say their mission is: “Making law firms hire us with doughnuts.”
Image description: A woman sitting with a Krispy Kreme box holds a sign saying "Your Next Solicitors (once you hire us)."
Alini’s friend joined her on the stunt
To a background track of Chuck Berry’s Johnny B. Goode, they place a sign next to a box of doughnuts that reads: “Your next solicitors (once you hire us)”.
In another, one says, “The job market is crap; let’s see what we can do about it,” adding: “Every graduate in London knows how hard it is to get a job nowadays, so we have done the only logical thing, which is: show up on the doorstep with doughnuts in hand. And what better place to get them from than Krispy Kreme, because who would say no to that?”
Legal profession experts have pointed out that competition for junior roles at leading City firms has become even keener with new technology. “AI continues to reduce the number of trainee positions,” said Chris Clark, the director of Definitum, a head-hunting consultancy.
The women filmed themselves handing over boxes at two prominent firms, Freshfields, a member of the elite “magic circle” group, which last year recorded an annual revenue of about £2.25 billion, and Addleshaw Goddard.
While Addleshaw Goddard had a more modest revenue of £500 million last year, the prospective trainee solicitors note in the video that the reception team at the firm is “so nice”.
They add: “And look at us smiling through the whole entire thing — like, what are you smiling for? You don’t have a job.”
The TikTok video was unearthed by the website Legal Cheek, which has a history of highlighting novel approaches by wannabe lawyers” to get noticed by prospective employers.
In 2018, it reported on Jordan De Leon, a law graduate from Anglia Ruskin University who stood outside Liverpool Street railway station in the City dishing out copies of his CV, while clutching a sign stating that he was after an “entry level” legal job.
As with many practices in so-called “big law”, the largest and most prestigious law firms in the US, the trend for unique pitches for jobs seems to have started in the US.
In 2013, the law graduate Brian Zulberti sent a mass email to law firms in Delaware in which he posed bare-chested with boxer shorts sitting low on his hips. The image included a handmade sign that read: “Hire Me!!! No… as a lawyer … not a [sic] escort…”
Training places at City law firms have historically been highly sought-after but a combination of US firms fanning salary inflation and social media has spawned increasingly resourceful efforts by job-hunters.
The top of the City pay tree is dominated by US firms, nearly 30 of which offer starting salaries to newly qualified solicitors of between £157,000 and £180,000.
Image description: Two women deliver Krispy Kreme doughnuts to law firms.
However, American firms offer only a few training places each. Many more places are available at the London firms, but the highest-paying — the magic circle players A&O Shearman, Clifford Chance, Freshfields and Linklaters — all offer starting salaries of £150,000.
While those salaries are significantly higher than the starting wages of most graduates, there is a price to pay for those who get the jobs. Trainees and junior qualified lawyers in the City routinely work at least ten-hour days and often longer, and law firm partners are also frequently required to weekend shifts.
Clark had a word of warning for the women’s stunt. “Getting the prospective firm to notice you is key,” he said. “The issue with offering confectionery is that the firm might think you’re a doughnut!”
> want to take a moment to sincerely thank each and every one of you who has reached out with kind words, support, and encouragement during this incredibly difficult period. I would especially like to thank all my mentors, friends and colleagues in the fraternity who know the true facts and have read between the lines. Your messages have meant more to me than I can express.
> I feel it is important to address the situation directly: the charges that have been brought against me are entirely false and malicious. I want to be unequivocal about that. I intend to contest each and every one of them vigorously before the appropriate court and I have full confidence in the legal process to reveal the truth.
> For those who may be unaware, legal proceedings have already previously been initiated by me and are currently pending before the family court since some time. Without going into unnecessary detail, this situation is, regrettably, an extension of a deeply painful divorce (and all the issues that inevitably come with it such as a financial settlement and child custody) - one that I had hoped could be resolved with dignity and mutual respect. Misusing one's connects in the media to further their own financial cause in the manner being done is not appropriate.
> I remain committed to my work, my values, and the people who have stood by me. I am grateful beyond words for your continued trust and support.
> Thank you.
Helps to save time, but again we are getting more work because of it xD
;-)))))
he is not on ▮▮▮ website any longer is it him
i dont know who is right here, but the poor child has been dragged into this shit storm by one (or both) fucked up adult and it just pains my heart to see it so
*sigh
Also policies are bad!
I had to search and find this to actually read it.
The person doing it is thinking that I am the one doing this - some guilty conscience.
Take care - ask your associates for help and I’m sure someone will - communicate politely over call and tell them that you don’t want harms way when it is preventable.
Take good care and all good energy to you.
But can you not take unpaid time-off? Why continue with the job?
Complain to National Commission for Women. Am sure they will bring your firm to its senses.
PMO also has a helpline of sorts or just send a letter. They are generally quite helpful.
By the way, his favourite phrase was "Let's play it by the ear" when I sought some meeting with him. Every time he used to repeat this phrase.
The ▮▮▮ lawyer accused is a pretty popular and wealthy lawyer.
Usually many of these POCSO charges are concocted by the mother against father when there is a matrimonial dispute for four reasons (a) To get full custody and avoid any visitation rights for the father (b) To ensure that the father is in lockup (c) in a relationship women are able to file pretext of marriage rape case etc. But these charges won't last after marriage. (d) to get back against the father for vengeance.
Now this ▮▮▮ Partners entire identity is ruined while the wife (popular ▮▮▮ ▮▮▮) will gets crores of rupees in alimony.
Read about Parent Alienation Syndrome. It mostly affects fathers. Women in a lot of cases have concocted these stories and courts have warned them not to do it.
That pen drive no doubt points to immorality, which can and absolutely should, in my opinion cost a man his marriage and job. But for anything beyond that, he would need to be formally charged and subjected to trial. Only if the charges withstand scrutiny should he be accused of being a molester, pervert, or anything else.
Until then, please cease and desist from speculating.
As far as I am concerned, it is rather unfortunate that his employer only sacked him, ▮▮▮.
If the guiltiest of women are entitled to women's rights, then so are the guiltiest of men. Food for thought..

So, be calm.If you hv decided this is ur calling, then just go for it.
If u work hard enough, there is no way on earth you wud not land in a very good job/place where u'll b comfortable enough.
Only thing : ruminate deeply before taking this path, & stick to it afterwords.
Law in itself has been fascinating to me more so the public policy and research area , but we all got to make sure that their is food on the table in your initial years, so was asking if age discrimination is a real thing
Truly inspiring!
Note that his rank was 171, so he did not need to bank on quota. A pure merit case. And he’s not even from a privileged family, as he says in the interview when asked about his parents.

We get it you guys have great placements, peer group, alumni blah blah blah
But shouldn't you all should also talk about problems in other lower law schools. The difference of quality and job security drops the moment you shift from the top 6.
Genuinely stop belittling each other and bring up some actual issues 🥀🥀🥀
Allegations may be true, but most of the time it's false.Let's look whether there was a divorce cum DV cum dowry cum violence case filed by the wife; & if yes, then most probably the POCSO case may just be added as an addendum. It's a complete package offered by divorce lawyers.
I've seen boys even alleging(thru mothers) sexual harrasment by fathers, & getting booked under POCSO(it's a very serious law; no bail).

Work also flows in silos — a handful of resources get assigned repeatedly while others sit largely free.
Bottom line: if you're a junior who can handle stress, this is a great place to be. If you're a mid-manager or above, run — you'll get crushed in the petty politics. ▮▮▮
The fact is, the decision makers are so swamped with day to day stuff, which they should have delegated to enough people in the system, that they truly lack the bandwidth to be strategic in how they operate.
In my honest experience, women, especially those without kids, are meaner to other women in such case.

In an interview with you in January 2026, I highlighted the "pervasive rot" in West Bengal under Trinamool rule. I noted that "Mamata Banerjee is a deeply discredited figure in the state" and that "her nephew commands no currency beyond unlimited cash in hand and hired goon squads." I nonetheless said that at that time (January), Trinamool had a "definite edge" over the BJP due to the BJP's own limitations in waging a successful state-level campaign in West Bengal. Those limitations notwithstanding, it turned out that Mamata Banerjee's unlimited licence to limitless corruption during her 15-year reign, which made the Trinamool Congress into an organised-crime racket akin to the Cosa Nostra (Sicilian Mafia), her arrogance of power which grew unbearable over time, and her sponsorship of the very dubious nephew as a dynastic successor, combined into an overwhelming liability. The BJP has reaped the dividends of the popular backlash.

Adding to the Cosa Nostra analogy, the Italian mafia has survived on with links with businessmen, lawyers and even certain judges. Read this news article, about 16 judges in Italy arrested for links with the mafia.

So what you will see in Bengal is the collapse of a wide network with tentacles in civil society. And NUJS will be affected because some of these tentacles reach here.
Partner at another law firm here at a T1 (smaller platform according to cs) heard from sources that in the last shit storm this morning- ▮▮▮ hasn't even bothered to stand by his employees and hear his side or have a basic conversation let alone an invesgation. Which top lawyer doesn’t know allegations doesn’t amount to moral turpitude. Our firm would have stood by their employees/partners when people are going through shit and sudden knee jerk reactions
▮▮▮-ites your time to leave. (Before the BOTs come). This is the end of the beginning
Be wary of her.
How do females even feel safe working in law firms anymore?
Shouldn't that partner be named publicly?
Are there any other stories of this particular partner or was it just a single episode and he got caught?
I concern is that it will restrict me to district courts and letting me grow to high courts. What should be done?
Moreover, how does the world reflects on those who work as ADPO, as I've not yet stepped into district court practice (working for last 2 years in supreme court), so I'm not aware about the social construct against ADPO. Do I retain a future in corporate litigation world after being ADPO for a few years maybe?
Folks on LI: Saar what does this mean for lawyers and law firms in India?
She also alleged in the FIR to have recovered a pen drive containing explicit material allegedly recorded by her husband over several years.
“I found a pen drive which contained several explicit video recordings of my husband having sex with different women. He claimed these were before marriage. However, I also found an explicit video of him and a colleague from the law firm. I was shocked and decided to separate from him", her FIR reads.

If despite this you can’t attend even the remainder of classes, it’s 100% on the students. And there’s no reason a university wouldn’t validate a genuine reason, like long-term illness or bereavement unless the genuine reason for you is: I was interning and hence couldn’t attend half the classes. It’s also super unfair to students who maintain their attendance despite multiple commitments to let slackers write the same exams as them.
