We want LI to be one of the friendliest places on the internet, where lawyers and law students help each other with their career related queries and occasionally discuss other stuff that might affect their lives too. In other words:
1. Be kind, respectful and helpful to each other.
2. Be bona fide, truthful, genuine and curious.
3. Assume the best intention of others.

Some T1 firms do not take interviews but KCO does almost always, even in instances of referrals. Their interviews are also among the toughest.
Ik it doesn't suffice to say just ignore these people, but that's def the most helpful solution here. To complement this, you will also need to be very good at your job and at networking outside your organisation to ensure that (i) you are atleast a little bit indispensable in your organisation so people will start staying out of your lane, and (ii) you keep building towards the possibility of switching to an independent or a smaller set up where you have a lot more autonomy and you can just focus on the work.
Lots of love and support and here's to a fulfilling career and life in this hellish profession (or ideally, a good escape from it).
I'm happy being a fixer...

Junior Clerk?
JGLS if you have the money, and want to study in a big campus with multiple amenities, decent to excellent professors, varied electives and a chance to study electives from other schools, learn subjects theoretically, enjoy 5 years of if campus life while hoping on a wing and prayer to get a good placement.
Both are extremely different choices. Be careful.
Haigreve, Luthra, founding / managing partners of other top 20 firms - 100 - 300 cr
Top 10 equity partners at top 10 firms - 80 - 200 cr
Partners 20+ PQE - 50 - 100 cr
Partners 15+ PQE - 30 - 70 cr
There can be few exceptions but this is largely accurate.
if you're looking for time to prepare for competitive exams - definitely rgnul
Please let me know if doing CS modules (not for the certification but knowledge) help me in my endeavour
I'm currently interning in a chamber of a senior who's from the same native place as me. I got in through contact. All the juniors also share the same hometown and religion. Senior got matters regularly in BHC, Nclt, Arbitration, etc.
He seems chill, leaves office by max 7 if there's an arbitration. Juniors also leave after sir.
This place seems great to be as I wanna go into litigation but confused whether to go to chambers or firms. I have my parents house in the city. Help please
That being said it's interesting to look at the gulf in student scholarship across NLUs and JGLS - which is exactly the opposite to that of faculty. If you look at major NLUs (or in particular NLS), the level of student scholarship is amazing. Students getting cited in petitions, publishing in Oxford journals, it is quite remarkable,
Not evicting all dogs from their habitats
Please note that treating dogs cruelly contributes to them becoming aggressive to other human beings
Do not do it
If there are aggressive dogs - inform an animal shelter to pick them up - they have specialised care and treatment for these aggressive dogs. Many of them just have hormonal issues and get better with treatment.
And don't even get me started on CRK+PR and Naveen Jindal's side projects! They've set up all these extra schoolsβpublic policy, psychology, architecture, liberal arts, journalism, you name itβwhich are bleeding us dry. We're having to pump money into them, taking away from what should be going into our core legal education and research. It's a mess, really.
Will they demand more accountability from corrupt admins?
Will they return to the conservatism of Gen X and Y, or take forward the radical liberalism of Gen Z?
In a country like us where 90% law colleges simply give degrees and no legal education, a good LLM adds value to graduates of these colleges.
2) if you get nls in the subsequent lists- nls over nalsar despite all of the stuff that you wrote above
They donβt usually hire 5th years as they conclude hiring by 4th year.
Weekends should be your best friend, where you can get most of your body parts done, for example I keep back bicep and legs on weekends so that Iβm relatively free to do these big muscles. On weekdays I try making it to the gym on at least any 2 days, so total 4 days in a week, which is decent.
Another major live-saver is eating/ordering healthy food and not engaging in sugary beverages. Have an Americano instead of a sugary coffee.
Hope this helps
Are they even providing?
In theory his shares are worth $1 billion or whatever. In practice, he has no one to sell them to (this is a bit nuanced but mostly true). This guy just screams grifter.
But to answer the OP's question - the reason people want to be lawyers at CAM (or investment bankers and consultants etc - it's a similar dynamic) is that they get paid a lot of cash money at a very young age and can have great lifestyles. Yes, it's less money than they will make as a successful entrepreneur, but the vast majority of startups and entrepreneurs fail, and a small minority strike it rich.
If you're a lawyer at CAM, you will have no life and work very hard, but you are basically guaranteed a very high salary and a very good lifestyle. For most people that beats slogging for years for a 1% chance (actually much lower) of being very very rich.
No LLM - experience over everything else for litigation, Judiciary, law firms, inhouse & CSE.
Simple as that. Rest are just BS-ing !
Leave aside all this β175 publications β bravado. Tell me which Jgls prof ( a regular prof not a tourist ) has written something in the last year that genuinely made you think ? That you personally felt was a good piece of scholarship ?
Idk how y'all even pass beyond 3rd year with this iq
There is, in general, a lack of job satisfaction. It is true that the work isn't as hectic as a law firm and on many days, we can leave by 6 PM. But then, many feel that we are seen as a stopgap arrangement, given the work that faculty do not want to do or faculty is not available to do. (Teaching courses no faculty wants to teach)
Overall, if you have to join academia, do your PhD first and then go for faculty positions. Or join as faculty, and simultanously do PhD. Don't join on posts below Assistant Professors. Such posts don't get reflected in UGC API, you would hardly get time to do PhD or write academic papers.
(Not telling the name or type of university)
we are not against feeding animals, but rather do it in a systematic way so that it benefits the animals and also train them well so they don't bite others
and i am not a nlu student frankly idk what it means
simply put, make dogs not bite humans and not defecate in wrong places so that it doesnot cause health issues to other living beings
if thats not possible then only way is to separate humans and dogs
I also saw someone talking about the "people who complain about dogs also did this" - its nice to have context about someone while dealing with personal matters, but in a general topic discussion like this, objectively looking at these arguments based on their merit alone in an unbiased way is better.I am someone who has been afraid of dogs from the beginning of my childhood.I find it hard to trust a dog due to the following reasons:
He doesn't understand certain things about our life for example, in roads, they start to chase vehicles causing accidents and lives, also biting people whom he thinks is dangerous due to the behaviour of other human beings.
When I am going to mess and getting food from there to hostel(i am from a diff college), he actively blocks the way and asks for the food with me not allowing me to go and not understanding that I already don,t have enough money for me to eat how could I afford for him?
To all those people who say things like "just one dog did doesn't mean dogs are bad"- lemme just twist it back "just because one human did not all humans bad" - then why did the dogs bite/chase?
its simple - both of these cases the subjects don't want to risk trying to expose themselves
The same is with me - a dog which has sharp teeth and claws could very easily damage me
It doesn't mean it will, but there is clearly potential for it to do so
Let's just say they start allowing using guns to the public without a license, what happens then? people 'who are not trained' will get access to a dangerous power [Power Corrupts]
In case of dogs, I am not asking to kill/evacuate the dogs - all I want is to be safe
Just make sure the dogs dont cause harm to other fellow beings or defecate in wrong places - maybe train them - all those animal activism organisations provide food to them
Let's say a person shoots some person, the one will be in jail after a few days
but what about dogs?will they put in jail? - in my opinion they shouldn't be put in jail
dogs don't even know that a law exists so they are almost like a kid so he should be given freedom to that extent
Please be aware I spend a lot of time and effort to do my stuff and a dog just coming easily and damaging all of these is unacceptable
I AM HAPPY TO HEAR OPINIONS ABOUT THIS FROM OTHER PEOPLE - PLEASE GIVE YOUR OPINION SO THAT I COULD KNOW THAT I AM WRONG AND CORRECT IT.
