In stock trading, people make money by providing trading related training (and not actual trading). That is why so many finance influencers have training programmes.
While people will (ill) advise you to go back to home town and trade in stocks, life in small cities is not sustainable in long run (see medical facilities, electricity cuts etc).
If you aim for mediocre life and dont want to create rich family legacy, then its a different story.
what kind of questions will they ask

Nonetheless working till 11pm is also not great as the entire day goes by, and you don’t have time to do anything else.
I am 2021 graduate from one of the low tiered NLUs in India. I have approximately 2.5 years of experience as on date. I am working with a tier 3-4 law firm currently in Mumbai and have a package of about 8L.
The point is, I have literally no savings looking at the high expenditure in Mumbai and I am planning to switch to a WFH atmosphere. Belonging to a Litigation background I am not able to find a path to move to that way. Looking for some valuable inputs. Thanks
TLDR: Litigation lawyer looking to move to a WFH atmosphere.

A well written article by Dr. Ranjan.!
T1s want slave labor who can form erudite sentences and accurately punch in figures. We dont care about your college, rank, gap, [redacted].
Research is essential everywhere, not just in the law fancy schools. Your attitude is infuriating and totally unfair.
BTW some gems of the BCI whom you have absolved of wrongdoing:

AI is being used for legal research but the results are less than stellar where the questions aren't straight forward. AI tends to make up things when it doesn't have the information and cannot distinguish between true and false information. And mind you, AI provides answers through google searches.
Google searching is a tool but it is not the entirety of research skills. Application and argumentation based on what you find is the essence.
And you talk about TWAIL
At best it will get you an university job if you can show you are intersectional ;)
Traditionally, Indian courts have grappled with inefficiencies due to manual filing systems, paperwork overload, and lengthy procedural delays. This has led to a huge backlog of cases, hindering access to justice for many citizens.
To address this, there has been a push towards implementing technology-driven solutions such as e-filing and virtual hearings. These initiatives aim to streamline court procedures, reduce paperwork, and expedite case resolution.
However, challenges persist in ensuring widespread adoption and effective implementation of these technologies. Issues such as inadequate infrastructure, digital literacy gaps among practitioners etc are still a huge challenge
The article in questions: https://www.thehindu.com/opinion/op-ed/an-intervention-that-will-help-strengthen-legal-education/article67850437.ece
Some questions based on this article, from my perspective as an assistant prof at a small, private, law school in the South:
1) How bad is the regulation by the Bar Council of India (BCI), and is poor regulation the primary reason behind the prevalence of low-quality law schools in India? Or is it merely that the majority of students in smaller, lesser-known law schools lack a specific interest in law, enrolling primarily for the ease of obtaining a graduation degree, often a minimum requirement for many government jobs? So who is really to blame for the poor quality of indian law schools, the BCI or the students who have no interest in holding their institutions and professors to account.
2) Is the call for increased emphasis on 'research' in law schools, beyond Tier 1 NLUs, JGLS necessary? Considering that a vast majority of law school students aspire to work as in-house lawyers, practice as litigators, or join the government as civil servants, how beneficial is it to impose extensive 'research' requirements on these students? Furthermore, in my experience, 'research' at most law schools in India is little more than copying from already published articles on the topic and paraphrasing using chatgpt.
Why I believe more research must be conducted by Tier 1 NLUs, JGLS, etc is solely because of necessity; I do believe that legal research is important, and thus, some law schools have to carry it out. So, why not promote it primarily in the best law schools to maximize the efficiency of legal education as a whole?
PS: I am not implying that students from non-Tier 1 law schools cannot conduct valuable research; they most certainly can. What I am questioning is the productivity of spending money to sponsor research in those NLUs when better results can likely be achieved elsewhere. Of course, the argument of dispersing funds and therefore academic quality is valid, as most states would want their NLUs to provide good opportunities for their students.
What's the duration and stipend??
Hope you are doing good!
Any Indian lawyer here who successfully applied to a US business school? What was your experience like? Do you think you'd have fared better if you were from an engineering/STEM background? Do you think the B-schools in the US/Europe are even aware of Indian law firms and law schools? What do you think, in your opinion, made you stand out?
Thanks!

The events of the past few days have struck a serious blow to civil rights and liberties not just at JGLS but across the country. It is most shameful that a university with a VC whose specialisation is supposedly human rights law can suspend a student for merely criticising the Modi regime and then use force to physically throw him out of campus.
The most laughable part is the decision given by the UCDC, which violates all tenets of justice. While even a first year student can draft a petition debunking the decision, we feel it would strengthen our case even further if we crowdsource these arguments. 😊 So feel free to share citations of SC, SCOTUS, ECtHR etc decisions and other sources supporting the legitimate right of students to express their opinions on campus. Thank you!

She saw an opportunity as ipleaders was making very good money and grabbed it by signing a deal with her own company effulgent
Then she stirred up trouble for iPleaders so that iPleaders shuts down and her own company gets a free reign
SJA rained on her parade when they discovered she is director at effulgent and self dealing
Distance education students became victim of this sordid plot by effulgent lady
If she resigned as director- that would have shown on MCA records
If anyone bought this story it was because they don’t know how MCA works 😝
Question is how did she get appointed director by a private company without informing NUJS where she has a full time job drawing full time salary
In reality despite being considerate towards NUJS no judge could help it because the violations by NUJS were way too blatant
Hence winning streak of ipleaders - NUJS has lost every case so far right upto SC
Enough of subverting our academic spaces in name of freedom of academic discussion
Do you think that freedom is granted to conservatives or Jews in Harvard or Upenn?
You don't get to attack the sovereign interests of India or say bharat tere tukre honge etc in name of FOE even in lefty colleges anymore
deal with it
Faculty members can fall in line or go look for jobs in USA

Also B&F is extremely mind numbing work unless you get insolvency work.
They've hired en masse from T2 NLUs and GLC (7 RGNUL, 6 GLC and 3 MNLU Mumbai, idk about more). I think MBB took from NALSAR according to rumours on this site, idk how reliable it is.
My point is if your college is not strict on attendance, intern every day of the year and pass your exams using a guide. A lot of GLC kids do this.
I'm in a T2 NLU and I'm telling you, you have one advantage over us, EXPLOIT IT.
But tbf the partner is concerned in a wholesome way - thank them for the concern and look like you're making an effort to eat healthy - if you can meal prep on the weekends you can have healthy lunches at lease.
Smoking is addictive - she knows she's being hypocritical, but she might have different stresses -bad for the health, sure, but she also cares for the team.
Appreciate it and for heaven's sake do not 'clap back' at her saying then she shouldn't smoke.
I had applied last semester but now I am unable to apply again through their job portal. Does HR Emailing work with Khaitan Internship, please help

Secondly, is absorption into a firm easy after experience under a senior?

You are right, it does start with Google.
First you need to have a proposition or a point you are trying to find or understand. This has to be clear and well thought, or else you will get lost.
Second, you want to know the statutes that are applicable (using Google).
Third, you want to read the statutes to narrow down on the sections that are applicable (find latest copies of statutes on India Code).
For the fourth step and the differentiating step, you either need to use a legal software or a commentary. This is to find case laws on how courts have interpreted the provisions. If you don't know how to use a legal software, please youtube. If you don't have access to commentaries, visit a legal library (older versions can also be found for free sometimes).
The fourth step is where the magic happens. Often, you will find additional legal provisions which apply (through reading case laws) to your proposition.. These you would not have found on Google.
You may also find different courts interpreting the same provision differently. This will give you perspective on legal interpretation which you could not have developed in any other way (personal belief).
Hope it helps, I tried my best during the taxi ride home.
I might be joining CAM/SAM (disputes team) in Delhi. I have never been to Delhi. Wanted to know how the area is. Is it safe at all? Very concerned since I am a women. Any pro tips to survive in the firm plus any other tips for relocating to delhi might be very useful.

Do voluntary bachelors still exist despite the stigma around singlehood created by influence of American pop culture?
Both committed and single law students and legal proffesionals do comment on what do you do with your time for love life or bachelorhood respectively?
SVR took a few classes at NUJS once. Such a gem in weaving theory and practice. Not sure if he would have left his practice and joined NUJS. But some people felt threatened by student response and moved internal levers to ensure that SVR wasn't even brought in "visiting" capacity.
Early batches of NLUJ can tell you about the Dube duo. Isn't DD now the Head of IIT KGP Law now? How is that working?
Are there any LLM's available in India or abroad that I can do?
Courses I can take from credited universities?
Seniors please help!
Surely there will be a protest?
