Lol what you smoking up bro
Like I'm sure law firms don't take students from first year. So what are the other options considering 1 month goes towards the ngo work (as per bar council)...so 3 months remain.
I'm going into a t1 NLU and 2nd generation lawyer, if that is of any help in answering my query.

Pradeep Rai - 689
Adish Aggarwala - 283
Lots behind these stats. The BJP could have fielded a strong candidate like Meenakshi Lekhi or Pinky Anand and they could have got the girl vote as well. Adish Aggarwala is not respected even by BJP supporters. Some BJP supporters voted for other candidates instead, leading to vote cutting.
Terrible strategising by the BJP IMO.
The other question is what Sibal will do now? He will use it to the hilt to do pro-Congress politics.
If trans lesbians are women they can date themselves - why do they need actual old school lesbians to date and have sex with their male bodies for validation? If trans men are men - is that why no means no is hard for them to understand ? Why do they think it’s the job of straight women to repress their sexuality to affirm trans mens masculinity ?
In any situation in life if you feel yourself aligning with people who would argue that wants to control female sexuality in this way- you should reconsider your worldview.
I really worry that young women don’t have the backbone to resist this and are instead so keen to please others and appear virtuous that they don’t stand up for themselves and their freedoms. Female socialisation is a dangerous thing. Even now you think it’s more important to be kind and understanding to other people than to be kind and understanding to yourselves or other women.
Ambedkar didn’t believe in forcing Brahmin girls to feel guilty about who they married. He believed in liberating all women to marry outside their caste by changing laws that punished exogamous marriages. He understood womens preferences were not because they were evil bigots. That they had a right to those preferences because it was their body- and sought to change those preferences by changing society in how it constrains women. That’s a very different stance than that idiot on twitter telling upper caste women they owe him sex and dates while barely masking his own misogyny.
It’s not kind to erase yourself and your own experiences or to pour all your sympathy into people who do not care for you. Women do not exist to be therapists and to provide absolution to people who do not like them.
Freedom has to mean freedom for women - straight and gay to choose for themselves without coercion who they love.
The right wing sees women as private property and the left sees them as public property. We are neither. We’re fully human.
At least Trilegal is doing something for induction. Har cheez me kami nikalni hai bas.
Fee structure: - Regardless of how rich you are, the fee structure will always be an issue in terms of decision-making. GNLU is bloody expensive, one of my juniors mentioned that it’s apparently 14k USD 💀 for just the tution fees. NUJS on the other hand, has an advantage as the total course fee won’t exceed 45-50 lakhs over the course of your duration. The ROI will be automatically a bit better
Placements: - I always keep on saying this that NUJS has an exceptional placement record. It has a slight edge over GNLU in terms of domestic placements, still, the difference is quite marginal. Plus within the T-1 NLU cohort, there isn’t much of a difference with regards to placements.
Scholarships: - GNLU wins hands down here, you will get a variety of academic scholarships, they have a separate scholarship dedicated to litigation and most importantly some of them don’t even need the income criteria. NUJS lacks a concrete scholarship which can dampen your chances of motivation, considering you are the NRI-S student.
Infrastructure: - As I have heard from my pals, the NUJS BH isn’t that pathetic. It’s tolerable, some rooms are nice while some other rooms are comparatively pale. The GH is terrible btw, however, from the second year everything gets sorted. My biased mentality will creep in here. Please don’t choose a college based on Infra, doesn’t make complete sense. If you are really into luxury, then GNLU can’t offer that either, some rooms are still cramped up.
Location: - Gandhinagar is growing, no doubt about it. But, again by the time you graduate, you are still gonna be hopped up on Kolkata as nujs is still stable and it’s anyway in the heart of Cal.
Final verdict: - Nujs wins, considering your situation, I still feel nujs makes more sense compared to GNLU, although again the difference between them is marginal. Yet for a NRI-S candidate, nujs is proving to be more fruitful.

Better faculty? NLIU doesn't win there
Placements? NLIU doesn't win there
So which are the parameters in which NUJS bsc sucks you think?
In fact the SJA made it clear this year that nobody from either bsc or ba will be denied any placement because of their batches.
Please do not comment nonsense when you have no idea of the ground situation.
Truthfully no one wants to resolve disputes in India, given the protectionist laws, uncertainty in enforcement, and time involved.
Unfortunately the government and bureaucracy can't read the room. This is going to be a spectacular failure!
You'll do fine OP. It can be difficult to filter out emotions triggered by other people's lashing out and it is human to want to protect oneself. You are already getting there. Remember that you can work to understand why they are angry and where they are coming from without presenting yourself as a target for their anger. I think you are a kind person that hope that you run into more people who see and value your kindness.
Should I consider switching my practice area by applying to other places?
Bjp along with eknath shinde and devandra fadnavis gave 0 fucks about the 14 victims in the Billboard accident due to storms and, shamelessly held a rally in the same area of Mumbai. Stalled metros and daily commuters, caused traffic and people were stuck for hours. If this is who are leader is going to be then we need to do better.
So it's definitely not NaMo. It's a No from me.
I did internships from my 1st year itself. Easily cracked the interview as well. College doesn't matter, skills do. Ofcourse, I have faced competition from nlu students but my friends at GLC and ils have had the same experience as me. Firms have stopped preferring GLC and ils.
Pro tip- GLC/ils/ Mu is not hard on academics. So if one desires to do that avoid MU and ils at all costs and prefer SLS or NLU.
1. Some unis I recall applying to (forget which ones, as extenuating circumstances wasn't something I had to consider) said on their websites that they have a presumption that extenuating circumstances have been taken into account by your law school examiners when evaluating your work. Nevertheless, because of your overall grades and CGPA/percentage, especially the higher grades, I would say that there is no problem in applying, mentioning your conditions and explaining how they impacted your performance, especially if they impacted your performance in courses relevant to your intended specialisation. This is because you have achieved what we would call 'distinction', or a 'first class' (at the undergraduate level), in the UK. If you look at most websites, they ask for either a '2:1' or a 'good 2:1'. The complicating factor, obviously, is the courses in which you achieved disappointing results. Emphasize particularly on anything that shows you overcoming these circumstances. Regarding the first one, you should know something about the exam regulations of British universities and what they consider to be extenuating circumstances for their own students taking degree exams, as they are likely to apply a similar thought process to your application. They usually consider circumstances that are beyond a student's control and that impact before an exam. So regarding (1), their response is likely to be, 'Are you asking us to believe that students who come from families whose income is below a certain threshold are less likely to perform well academically?', which obviously isn't good (considering that many of them love to thump their chests on what is called a 'social mobility' ranking, i.e., what percentage of their students from the bottom 20% income bracket of British society end up graduating from one of these places with a job whose salary is such that they would fall into the top 20% income bracket). Regarding health conditions etc., they also usually only take into account an accute episode that has impacted students prior to an exam, because the assumption is that long-term illness can be managed - so usually something unexpected like an illness suddenly getting worse, despite you taking all the prescribed medications or whatever. Many British unis also operate, for their own students, what are known as 'fit-to-sit' policies, i.e., a presumption that if you attended an exam and wrote it, you were at the top of your form, and therefore deserved the marks you got (a presumption that is rebuttable by something like illness during an exam). Their question is likely to be, 'Why did this person even sit an exam if they were ill? Why didn't they apply for extenuating circumstances on medical grounds from their own uni?'.
2. UCL, for example, requires an average of 65% across all years of your degree. They are willing to relent to the extent of 62%, if the candidate shows good "motivation" in their SOP. Is this something you are able to demonstrate? Despite your current CGPA, this may be a complicating factor.
3. You may want to ask your referees (those who write your recommendation letters) to write about anything they know about the impact of your circumstances on your performance. If your referees ask you anything about it, tell them, would be my advice. I know this is delicate, but not holding back is my suggestion. Another complicating factor is that King's doesn't want references, and doesn't allow you to provide them on their LLM application, therefore all you have to say about ECs has to be done in your SOP.
4. While they would be interested to know how you are doing relative to your classmates, they are, from my experience, more likely to give greater importance to marks.
PS: I don't wish to discourage you, but even an Oxbridge LLM these days is no golden ticket to a foreign law firm job, if that is your aim. Remember, in terms of vacation schemes and training contract applications, British LLB students have had three (sometimes as many as four) years to develop the knowledge, experience etc. required to navigate this job market that you will have only one year to develop, meaning you will have to be that much more adaptable, that much more resilient. And if that wasn't enough, you may be ineligible for some firms' vacation schemes, meaning you would have to directly apply for their training contracts (Freshfields Brukhaus Deringer, for example, has a vacation scheme which would be out of bounds for you as an LLM student in the future, something I have heard from the lips of one of their Grad Rec team). This isn't to say that you can't develop it or that the task is impossible, but it is definitely going to be difficult, even if you land an LLM acceptance. In this culture, students often collaborate in groups of three or four to tackle vacation scheme or TC applications. You'd be well advised to join your uni law society if you end up at a British uni for an LLM and get to know some LLB students who can help you navigate the system. And just to be clear, I personally know a fellow Indian (LLB) student at my own uni who seemed to have all the cards stacked against himself medically (including bad luck in having a sergical operation fail), but he still secured a training contract at a top American law firm's London office, only a few months later than he had intended.

Q
AIBE Exam or All India Bar Exam is literally an open book exam. Even a non lawyer could write the exam. There is no need to study. It's easier than any LLB subject exam.
How is it possible that 51% of candidates fail in the exams?
Are they from fake colleges?
How did they pass LLB if they end up failing in AIBE?
Most LLB subject exams require some prep whereas AIBE doesn't require anything?
Therefore I don't think we can say that SCBA election is a microcosm of national election
Pls suggest how to stop this brain rot.
“I think you’re gonna find – when all this shit is over and done – I think you’re gonna find yourself one smiling motherfucker. Thing is Butch, right now you got ability. But painful as it may be, ability don’t last. Now that’s a hard motherfucking fact, but it’s a fact of life your ass is going to have to get realistic about. This business is filled to the brim with unrealistic motherfuckers who thought their ass would age like wine. If you mean it turns to vinegar, it does. If you mean it gets better with age, it don’t. Besides Butch, how many fights you think you got left. Two? Boxers don’t have an old timer’s league. You came close but you never made it. And if you were gonna make it you would have made it by now.”
“Now the night of the fight you might feel a slight sting. That’s pride fucking with you. Fuck pride. It only hurts, it never helps. Fight through that shit because a year from now when you’re kicking it in the Caribbean, you’re gonna say Marsellus Wallace was right.”

Choose Gujarat. Choose Modi. Choose GNLU.
Poor intersex people- being lumped in with the TQ lot is gonna spell ruin for them. Having disorders of sex development is not a mental condition- its a physical one.
UG girls have the option for single occupancy, and that might also be replicated for LLM’s.
Mental illness - yeah- but it’s tricky. There are definitely admissions officers and professors who will be wary of taking on a student who is not currently and for the future term in a stable condition. They want to make sure you can handle course work and graduate. If you can show how you’ve grown and learned to handle your mental illnesses - then yes.
They consider your rank. Evaluation standards vary so much institution to institution that it’s hard to trust a gpa.
My advice for anyone worried about not getting in after applying is to apply anyway. Worst they Can say is no. And you can apply the next year if they do. Don’t find reasons to disqualify yourself.
Trilegal, CAM, SAM, TTA, S&R, JSA, KCO and AZB.
Also, can South and North Indians collectively agree that we don't like upma?
Kind regards
Also what type of questions should I prepare for? I was only notified today and I have my interview tomorrow morning
I have since then worked at another reputed mid sized firm and greatly upskilled myself and am recently thinking of applying to my ex firm but for a different partner in Bom office. Can my ex partner block my application? Partner is pretty senior and can’t imagine them being this petty, but Ive been surprised before.
Why firms can’t offer breakfast and lunch facility for retainers especially those from outside?
Some firms in Delhi, Bangalore, Mumbai, etc don’t even have a cafeteria.
Take money but give meal
On the other side GNLU is a growing institution whereas NUJS is (unfortunately) a sunset.
I know first-generation advocates who began earning well, comparable to corporate salaries, within just 2 to 3 years. Conversely, I also know hereditary advocates practicing for over a decade who earn less than a senior associate at a Tier 1 firm. Much depends on your ability to attract and retain highly litigious clients.
If compensation is not a primary concern for you, I would recommend practicing at the Supreme Court in Delhi, where the potential for high fees is considerable. I chose to start at the Bombay High Court because I am from Mumbai and could initially stay at my parents' house.
Regarding your second question, Georgetown primarily considers class ranks rather than grades. However, it's worth noting that most other schools do focus on grades instead of ranks.
However, new partners are generally better - so at the end of the day, it depends.
I hope you have the answer.
(1) Familial income <2LPA
(2) Mental health disorders of the kind that could arguably meet the M'Naughten threshold at times (3) on a related note, admissions to an asylum
(4) clear illustration of my mental condition in marks — some semesters, I've scored about 90% & others as low as 45% and that too with multiple repeat exams.
Also separately, do these colleges consider just your grades - or rank, too? Because while my ordinary CGPA to percentage conversion comes out to be >80%, my rank is somewhere in the middle of the batch for now (I'll try to get it higher but who knows).
Please don't troll my conditions. Any serious advice on any of the above points is deeply appreciated so that I can figure out whether it's even sensible to try for an LLM at this (or later) stage.
