I'm a student at T2/3 NLU, and just started my third year at the age of 18. So, is it fine? I mean is it normal? And I'm a dropper too.
Even if I'm a fresher, is it fine.
People just stare at me, when i tell this, i don't know why.
However, this is not a ceiling which is unbreakable, this can be overcomed by the
And I'm really confused between GLC and ILS
I've heard that GLC has good placement and can intern throughout the year but really bad teaching staff
Which one should I join?
Please help me through this!
I can tell you that tons of law firm associates invested like this and are now suffering from shock and depression, in addition to work-related stress.
I am an upcoming intern in the Projects team at SAM's Mumbai Office. Does anyone have any feedback about the team. How is it? Also, what kind of work can I expect?
Additionally, how do callbacks work at SAM Mumbai?
I did not leave on good terms at a previous tier 1 that I was employed at. But during the course of interview with the partners, I did mention a few safe names from this workplace as I was asked about the people I had worked with.
The HR has now approached me asking for the names of my references in writing.
Would it be okay to skip this tier 1 and mention references from my earlier workplaces? Would this raise any suspicion?
Is it okay to mention a friend's name (same level as I) name from previous workplaces?
Will this law firm actually call up the references?

Everyone has their own journey, some may have crores saved with limited knowledge but a giant ego to show nothing for. Donโt compare yourself to a tier 1 kid who saved for 7 years.
It depends on firm to firm.
Good brands to consider are:

I guess it was your dad's chamber as you are from JGLS?
Good people to work with.
If he lacks the control over his emotions that it takes to be her colleague, then he is going to create drama and make a fool out of himself in trying to lash out at her. It is extremely unprofessional.
He can't 'make her leave'. The idea is vindictive. This is all very filmy. If she cheated on him then he should certainly withdraw his friendship and warn any friends who want to date her in the future but that's all.
If he didn't have expectations then why is he here telling us what all he did for her? How it is relevant unless the implication is that she owes him something in return.
Au contraire, I've been the cheatee not the cheater but unlike you, I am not deliberately a jerk. Egging someone on to hurt someone else because toxic masculinity is disgusting. Check your assumptions and try to be a better person. Oh and before you make snide remarks about people who were cheated on, it was great in the long run because it freed me from a bad relationship.
This is not 'running away'. It is giving himself space to heal instead of adding to the drama she started. Hurting her won't make him feel better.
Thanks
Additionally are these laptops good, or do people prefer using Citrix on their personal laptops?
Please feel free to add info about other firms, in case in coming associates have the same question. Thanks!
Ps: Also, please recommendations for good windows laptops (ultrabooks) in the 80-90k range.
I'm losing my faith in humanity every single day.
God bless that guy!
2.if he finds it difficult to be around her, why should he leave, why should he not make her leave, but telling everyone what she did? Is running away th solution? Also, what if he's into a super niche practice which is there in only that city and they are bound to cross paths?
3. Also I don't know why you assumed that he'll be bitter for not dating him, when he clearly mentioned that she cheated on him and treated him disrespectfully. But yes, i understand that doing this might make him feel like a bad person.
But leaving the firm or the city doesn't make sense and also it's not very easy for niche practice areas. As he mentioned, there will be a pay cut.
But yes, your perspective is well appreciated, just that it's full of false assumptions and probably personal biases.
Not kidding.
Sounds like the guy should run away instead of making her run away.
Interesting.
Almost sounds like someone who has cheated on the guy.
I made that person resign from my team and we both moved on.
The best decision of my life. Saved a lot of mental agony and awkward situations.
You sound like a good man. I hope you make the right choices. Vengeance might taste sweet, but it may cause you a lot of guilt and self hate.
But it'll not be immoral or unethical if you tell everyone the truth about what happened and what kind of person she is.
The decision is yours to make.
But you situation is really sad. Sending you hugs and wishes.
God bless kiddo.
I really want to explore civil and commerical disputes (specifically litigation and arbitration).
I am in the initial years of my law school. We are yet to study CPC, Crpc etc. How should I go about learning about these fields, what internships, moots, publications to try for to build a CV. What does the job market look like ; chambers vs firms ? how to get recruited ?
Fat people aren't just fat, they, more often than not, are frustrated/ angry and sad - because of low self-esteem/pride and poor response/ attitude of people toward them (relative to those who appear more presentable).
Pro-tip for women to fat or lean for their own good-
Finding your fitter self will surely take time. But in the meantime, wear Saris or Kurta and get your clothes stitched by a good tailor master (I can recommend good ones for Delhi and Mumbai). Avoid skirts or any other form of Western attire if you are โobeseโ (at least, for the time being). Don't be that person whose belly button is flashing at the word, between the spaces in your shirt. Stick to whites and lighter fabrics that breathe well. Saris hide excess weight like nothing else! Get them your saris/ kurtas stitched with enough margin inside for future alterations as you lose/ gain weight and look your better self!
That interview had everyone buzzing on LI -https://www.legallyindia.com/convos/topic/359490-the-tarun-nangia-mohit-saraf-interview-for-newsx
I eagerly look forward to a Tarun Nangia - Mohit Saraf special for the Defence Colony litigation office. I could use the inspiration! Who doesnt need it!!? ๐คท๐ปโโ๏ธ
Go for s&r. I had interned there and the environment was quite pleasant. The associate's were friendly and helpful. The pay is also better than cam. All the best!
The boy does not own the girl. If he finds it hard to be around her, he can find another job or a different city office. Anyone who can open doors for the girl can surely open doors for himself. If he can't, then maybe he is mistaken about why she got her PPO.
Law firms are full of betraying snakes. His colleagues will survive another one. The main thing to do is to avoid turning into a bitter jerk who tries to attack a junior professionally for not dating him personally. The impulse is human but carrying it out will make the boy someone he may not want to become. Leave the firm and maybe the city, baby boy.
Who are you to ask this question? People like you divide the society. It's one India. Patna and Pune are not different.

I am entering my final year at a tier 2 college. I have secured internships at Saraf and Singhania (both in Disputes team) for July and August. Despite having experience with good tier 2 and tier 3 firms, I am uncertain about receiving a ppo. I obtained these internships independently, without any references. Could anyone please advise me on what steps I should take next?

I went through a bitter breakup months after the death of my father. I decided to move away, seclude myself and overwork to keep me from grieving any of it.
Did it work? Yes. But I lost so many friends and a couple of years over it.
My only advice is - do what protects your mental peace and your interests. It is no longer 'our' interest so why should you settle for a paycut?
You can ask for a change in location if the firm has offices in multiple cities. This seems to be the easiest way to deal with the situation without active confrontation. Or else, cut the cancer right at the base.
To ease your mind, there are plenty of jobs out there. You are only inconveniencing her for a while. That, to me, seems to be a fair trade.
Ciao! May your heart heal soon and heal well :)

Students are misguided to end up going to BVP Pune.
Noida, Greater Noida have half a dozen better colleges than BVP, even Galgotia, Sharda, Bennett, Lloyd, Amity are all better than BVP.
Except symbiosis and ILS Pune, no college worth anything in that city.
Here is video of the arrest. My read is- theyre not manhandling more than necessary. The protesters are resisting arrest. The police is allowed to use reasonable force when people who are doing illegal things- protesting outside of freedom park without permission- are resisting arrest. Theyre being almost gentle.
https://maktoobmedia.com/india/pro-palestine-protesters-detained-in-bengaluru-woman-says-cops-made-her-apologize-on-camera-manhandled-her/
Here are public comments from this professor. Sorry to say but she really does seem to be exaggerating. โEven before we could start speaking, our posters were snatched, and we were filled in a police van, and that was done while violating our dignity. Women were dragged and even manhandled by the male police officers.โ
The police are under no obligation to let you continue to protest illegally. It hardly seems right to say you didnt start speaking because we can hear your party in the video sloganeering. The arrests seem to be done- at least from this video- without excessive force. According to SC decisions- male officers can arrest women in broad daylight if getting a female officer would take too long.
""the protesters, including her, were brutally and forcefully pushed inside the police vehicles like objects, and some of the officers were in civilian clothes and not wearing police uniforms."
If you dont go when the police officer asks you to- they can push you to get you into the van. Laws are not optional. You dont just have to follow them when you want to- you have to follow them even when you dont- because its the law. If these people had simply gone when the police asked them to- there wouldnt have been FIRs filed, it would have been simple detention and release. I have taken part in protests. there has to be a discipline to it, you can do it legally, you can do it peacefully- and no one will arrest you, when youre doing it illegally and the police arrest you- you can either physically resist or you can go with them and get released after a detention. If you physically resist, the police officer is allowed to use reasonable force.
It is surprising to me that these people dont know this- is there one seasoned protester among the bunch?
She said, โInside the police station, I was beaten up by two male cops when I confronted them for behaving in an undemocratic manner. They also accused me of abusing them while I was just trying to remind them of their duties as per the law and that they are not supposed to act in a farcical manner, clenching dissent.โ
She further said, โThe cops made me apologize on camera and forcefully made me say that I was abusing them, and they recorded a video of it. Only then was I allowed to walk out of the detention.โ
โInside the police station, due to repeated attacks and physical police action, one of the detainees had passed out and another one had a concussion,โ Baruah added.
โI and other people have sustained some serious injuries. Some of them ended up in the hospital after we were released late at night,โ said the professor."
If this is true- its not defensible. But the professor does seem to be exaggerating- the facts would only come out at trial. The police is not a democratic institution, its the police, not parliament, not your university campus. Its their job to faithfully enforce the law, they do not have to listen to anyone except the chain of command. that said- the brutality allegations should be taken seriously and investigated.
"Bangalore police have booked all 15-20 people detained by them, invoking sections such as unlawful assembly and disturbing law and order, citing violation of the Karnataka High Court ruling of 2021, which only allows protests at Freedom Park. Baruah said, โThe ruling in itself is contradictory to the law; protest cannot be contained in objects and spaces. I feel that protesting against the genocide happening in Gaza is a basic human decency that every human should feel right now. Every day we see images that are not even of complete human bodies. Mutilated, beheaded pictures of women, infants, and children surface every day. Every other moment of the day is just horrific to witness, and Palestinians are living this as reality. Voicing up, talking about it, protesting, and pushing our governments is the least we can do.โ
It is surprising to hear a law professor so clearly misunderstand the law! Freedom of speech is not absolute in the country, the government absolutely can impose restrictions. And even if you disagree with those restrictions and think them unconstitutional, the proper course is to file an appeal. The proper course is not to violate laws you dont like and then claim you shouldnt be prosecuted! Laws are not optional.
Perhaps these protesters may find it to their benefit to put away their phones and do something else in the real world and gain some balance and perspective. Constantly looking at photos of bodies and violence on your phone is likely going to radicalise you and take you to some pretty dark places. Its not simply "witnessing" its ruminating and allowing this war to consume you, and honestly to radicalise you. It's a war- wars are horrible- Maybe shes too young to remember Kargil or to remember American wars in Iraq and Afghanistan- but it was awful. And in the fog of war only fools think theyve seen the whole truth. Especially when social media companies keep feeding you outrageous content to keep you using them, and when both sides have used disinformation and even AI generated images on the internet to further their propoganda. To claim that people who arent on your side lack basic decency - thats not an academic, thats an activist, academics should have greater complexity in their world view.
Protesting and pushing your government to do what? Does she really believe that india is complicit with the war in israel? We have been pretty clear on our foreign policy, Indian foreign policy has pretty consistently supported palestinians. What else would she have them do? put indian soldiers on the ground to fight IDF? How does 20 people protesting in a random street corner in frazer town translate to change in foreign policy? Does she even have a theory of change? This was a totally meaningless protest with no demands, well, except the demand for attention. This was performance art and not good performance art. Even the people passing them by on the street seem to be indifferent. I'm surprised that a law professor at the nations best law school behaves this way or says these things.
Later on in the article, a fellow protester says this : He added, โChief Minister Siddaramiah acted as an accomplice to the Gaza violence by brutally and forcefully shutting down the pro-Palestine democratic voices in Bengaluru."
Holy projection batman! How badly do you want to be one of these victims in the videos youre constantly watching to think siddaramaiah is an accomplice to the violence in Gaza? This is so unimaginably deluded that I dont know whether to laugh or despair.
