I want to know more about this firm. I'm planning to apply there for the month of January 2025. How is it there? What's the work culture like? Do they give assessment internships?
Be good at your work, have a clean conscience and try the next place
What about India then?

Deserving candidates who actually work these jobs for more than a month know how shitty it can be, but because desperate folks like you exist the partners always think they are gods and that we are disposable.
Then when we leave they struggle to replace us and put some small town hick like you at the job, you fail miserably, then they hike the pay to get back deserving candidates, and the cycle of misery repeats.
1. How many of your economics faculty are alumni of IIM/XLRI/FMS/ISB vs JNU/TISS/Jadavpur/Jamia/Osmania?
2. How much of your economics curriculum is devoted to free market economics vs welfarist economics?
3. Does your history and political science curriculum discuss critiques of Marxist and socialist policies: for example, atrocities by communist regimes, the licence Raj in India and the economic condition of West Bengal, North Korea?
That, if I text someone on LinkedIn, who have done internship in "X" firm. Asking about how did you applied and the procedure.
Do they mind it? if I ask them to handover me the email address for application, is it odd? Or awkward?
I'm writing this opinion just to get justification, whether my decision is correct...
So, I'm a 3rd Year student at a mid tier NLU. And till now I've done 2 boutique law firm internships and done 8 paper presentations, along with some publications here n there, and some participations in Moots and ADRs conducted by Tier 1 law firms and NLUs. So, in toto I've a very poor CV.
I'm mailing 120 firms, every month for internship. But only 5 replies out of which 4 rejects.
Basically, I'm so much done with all of it. I have 0 connections.
There's a twist, that Judicial services is my passion and I wann do that only at the end of the day. But, the peer pressure at law school is making me to intern.
Whenever internship break comes, on the back of mind, I always have this idea that I should prepare in these "holidays" by going to home.
All of this is so stressful. What to do, I'm so confused.
Bcz, sometimes, I feel that I wouldn't be able to survive in Law firms. If this is the case with me, then why should I even go for it, and when I don't wann go to that path, why to even intern there.
Am I going right way? Is this how I should approach?
I'll be really grateful, if you can help me out.

Not good optics for the Indian legal profession when even at age 50, with a lot of accolades and prestigious degrees, and with SA status, and with family pedigree, one is still considered junior and must play second fiddle to a 75-year old. It means that you need to wait till you are at least 60 years old to be taken seriously.
Why will people take up litigation as a career of this is the state of affairs even for privileged people from influential families???
1. AZB Takes Paralegals
2. Crawford Bayley takes Long Term Assessment Interns.
Try doing some research as to who the partner is and mail them your application. But you are likely to get it only if you have previous experience. Also I recommend not spamming them with emails. These partners are very proactive, if they like you you'll get a call within a week or two if you don't take the hint. All the best!
I dont think its a good idea for any judge anywhere to invite a member of the executive or the legislature into his own home. Especially to do something as intimate as eat/ worship together.
Honestly try not to take it to heart. I failed in my 5th sem as well because of attendance issues owing to illness.
I'm in my 7th sem now, and I have an upcoming callback internship w a T1.
Firms judge you based on your performance during the internship, your personality and whether you gel w the team, and your willingness to learn during your tenure there.
You'll probably face a lot of questions asking why you failed but they'll understand when you explain yourself. They're all (mostly) humans after all.
Keep your head up and work hard.
Hope I was able to help you. All the best!!
Hours are crazy. Pay is peanuts. The seniors at PA and above level are tuff to work with. The partners wonβt listen to you and will treat your like machine. There is no reason why you should join AZ or CAM, which has the same culture with atleast better pay.
I applied for a position in March 2024, that application is still showing in portal and hasn't moved.
Khaitan HR is not good, doesn't even care
I am a double graduate from DU (Pol Science Hons., North Campus College) and have done my LLB from a tier 2 college (NOT DU). Although I am a topper of my LLB course, my percentage is 62.70. I wish to apply to UCL/Durham/Edinburgh for LLM but what chances do I have?
The Twist:
1. I have done some wonderful internships, including AGI and SAMCO.
2. I have two publications
3. I have done Social Service
4. I am the first Ranker of my class
P.S- I had to pursue LLB from tier 2 college due to a personal mis hap that can be explained :)
I am applying for 2025 fall intake, the application opens in 20 days. Very Scared!
Some advices would be very very helpful :)
Thanks so much!
The reaction to your no will determine escalation.
Yes. You are dealing with a bully. But you will be dealing with these types for a while. Kudos for recognising. However, unlike jail - you ain't anyone's bizytach. So please use mind while dealing with this moron.

I am looking to understand which firms are cracking it in with the clients in the domestic and international arbitration space. I am also looking to understand which senior counsels are good to work with in this space. Any insight will be helpful.
1. Nepo lawyers with rich dads: Regular BMW or Merc as graduation present. Maybach as marriage present. Then it keeps getting better: a collection of Lamborghinis, Bugattis, Aston Martins, a few vintage cars..maybe a private jet and yacht.
2. Regular lawyers with regular dads: Alto/Celerio at age 25. Swift at age 30. Honda City at age 35. BMW/Merc/Audi/Jag at age 40-50, continues till age 50-60. At 60, you may wish to reward yourself with a Maybach, or spend on other things instead. Or even add to your retirement corpus.
3. Poor lawyers with poor dads: My condolences.
Pays chillars as salary
Let us just make this platform a source to help people and give them a direction but now a days, people just vehemently criticizes everything despite being continuously working there. Get off from this mentality and either become efficient & hardworking or leave and join practice area which offers you 16+ CTC, WLB, chill environment, easy partners, less work, 9-5 job.
For freshers, guys no one will give you 16+ lac for free. Kaam karwayenge and jyada karwayenge, isliye it is totally upto you whether are you IN for it. But for gods sake, ignore these comments of richie rich elite associates who are born with a silver spoon, fed by rich parents and therefore now crying in there jobs.
I am considering pursuing an LLM from the United Kingdom, particularly from King's College London, and I would greatly appreciate your input. My main questions are:
1. Is it worth doing an LLM from the UK, especially from King's College London?
2. What are the career prospects like after completing an LLM there? I've heard that the job market in London is quite competitive, so I'd love to hear your experiences or insights on this.
3. Alternatively, is it worth pursuing an LLM at King's and then returning to India for career opportunities?
4. Lastly, can someone provide an estimate of the total cost, including tuition, food, and accommodation, for the LLM program at King's?
Your thoughts and advice would be incredibly helpful! Thank you in advance for your insights.

"Once you do this, what message do you send to those in the High Courts and judiciary functioning at various levels in the country. They also look upon these thing. Therefore, that sends a signal which is also unfortunate."

Dude, be determined and if you are hardworking enough then CM can be maintained with your personal life. But agar apne baap ke paiso par palne ke aadat the and just job lag gaye phir zaroor CM kya all practice areas are tough and wahe log yaha LI par aakar comments karte hai.

A huge selling point for capital markets is that it is very client-facing at an early stage of your career during kickoff meetings. Apart from that, you culminate an understanding of businesses and industries in and out, as a result of all the documents you diligence. Lastly, and this might not align with what most people say about cap marks, but there is immense potential for cap marks lawyers to move in-house to start-ups that are planning on going public.
While I understand that the ICDR is the end-all-be-all for cap markets lawyers, itβs not as if the field has zero prospects or advantages whatsoever. Stick with it for a year, and you being able to switch to another team should depend entirely on how you sell yourself.
