1. Be kind, respectful and helpful to each other.

So we now have Indira Jaising, Karuna Nandy, Vrinda Grover against the state of WB.
Kapil Sibal and Menaka Guruswamy for the state of WB.
Incidentally, Menaka, Karuna and Vrinda are all TIME 100 honourees.
Meenakshi Arora appeared for Sandip Ghosh, the arrested principal accused of corruption and covering up the rape-murder.
NLSIU Phiroze Eduljee appeared for one of the parties seeking justice.
And of course Tushar Mehta for the CBI.

None of the answers you have given are correct.
Oh and do your research on the practice and partner before sending mails to partners. Carpet bombing only leaves craters!
Genuine advice. Of course the downvoters will down vote. Who cares?

Detentions and year losses are not the fault of the administration but of students. Study, don't fail, attend classes - buckle up. If medically or mentally unwell, prove your infirmity and avail the standard concessions available to everyone.
Rules cannot be set aside just because someone is a threat to themselves or others. In fact, in such a case, the person should be removed from the institution and treated.
The world cannot stops for one or two people. The rules cannot be bent for individual cases. Study, or face the consequences.
Furthermore, your mental issues are not the community's fault. No one is responsible for yourself except you. Get whatever help you want, but no one is guilty for being absorbed in their own concerns of moots and publications.
I alone have the right to decide if I want to engage with a shrink. I am free to have zero faith in that profession and field, and if so, it is not your place to coerce me to interact with its bullshitting.
I will just leave it there.
Litigation Lawyer? Sketchers Black Color Shoes because you have to run around a lot. And a formal formal shoes is bad for health.
Cherry-picking, eh?
Maybe the CJI is trying to signal something? And it is interesting that it is only now that alumni are writing to CJI when they are fully aware that he is retiring in Nov 2024 and there is very little time (thanks to Puja vacations) to organise the convocation. Many suspect that VC got some of his chosen to write (and publicise) the letter to CJI so that people stop asking talking about how VC is the reason why CJI has avoided Convocation in all these years.
Also the faculty member who alleged SH by VC may have gone to court in 2024 but the matter has been swirling in the EC since 2023 at least. VC is hoping that his appeal in Cal HC before a DB led by a regime friendly judge will succeed (and therefore his extension as well due in Nov). He already has NAAC and BCI certification excuses for DD and SS.
2. A male professor entered GNLU Girls hostel last year but there was no outrage.

If you really want him and his acolytes gone, just demand (and please ensure full compliance) access to both the minutes and agenda notes of all the EC, FC, AC meetings of RGNUL ever since this VC got appointed and also his predecessors. Thereafter, ensure a forensic audit by CAG.
If BCI can ask for police verification and what not for students, why should VCs, faculty members and non-teaching staff not undergo the same grind. Actually, the BCI members should undergo those checks themselves first.
Although not a VC but KS at NUJS lost ICC position due to complaints from students.
You are right about the need for more support for marginalized students but this will go much further if you understand that law schools have small budgets and are run by human beings who are usually less elite than most of the students. Ask for things that can be given. Pitch in and say how you will help change the culture. It is not all admin created, students add to the toxicity and can add to the change.
Best partner/mentor in real estate (if youโre looking at T1 firms): Harsh Parikh (KCo), Ruchit Parikh (AZB)
Another issue becomes the lack of connectivity. Infrastructure is poor and things like the Atal Setu, Coastal Road and the metro should have been built 20 years ago. It's not convenient to travel long distances for work. So, people wish to stay closer to offices. This again inflates the real estate prices, specially in South Mumbai where the offices are mostly concentrated. The local train is humid, overcrowded and outdated and not a viable option to cover large distances daily. This poor transportation infrastructure compounds the first problem aforementioned.
Another issue is the city being home to billionaires, celebrities and business magnets. The fact that you live anywhere close or in vicinity of any VIP drives real estate prices upwards. Living in such neighbourhoods becomes a matter of prestige and rodomontade.
Just my two cents of analysis.

Recently when IIT Guwahati students asked for their dean to resign, he did so within a day, along with a few others. In contrast, this RGNUL VC wants to hold on to his chair. See the difference between a national institution and a state university. Such people are in love with their chairs/positions - a stark difference in cultures.
Sudhanshu Chauhan (COMPANY LAW)
Pranav Verma (CRIMINAL LAW)
Sidharth Chauhan (CONSTITUTIONAL LAW)
The Guj HC case was proven to be false, as acknowledged by the court. "Delhi depression" has not been linked to university administration. What came of the Bangalore protests exactly? And what does "Kolkata politics" even mean? There is no dearth of real issues, don't grab at straws.
"Stupid Sherlock"
I am a 4th-year student pursuing my B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) from SLSP, and have developed a deep interest in competition law. I would say that I am good at academics and have a decent profile to land a T2, if not a T1, internship; however, I am unable to get the same as the replies from firms rarely arrive.
I am seeking guidance from someone experienced in competition law who can mentor me and help me gain exposure to the field. I understand that this is a demanding request, especially for someone likely to be swamped with work, but any assistance or advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance for your time and consideration!

"Due to the failed economic policies of the BJP government, the business of companies has reduced so much that to save their business, they make fewer people do a lot more work," he said.
The SP chief took a dig at Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman's recent suggestion that students should undergo stress management lessons to handle challenging situations. "The BJP government is as much responsible for such sudden deaths as the statements of BJP leaders that mentally demoralise the public," he tweeted.

I had send a mail to partner. How long would he take to respond.
Good:
1. Apartment in London or Dubai (literally every second person has this, whether declared or undeclared)
2. Two overseas holidays every year: first or business class airfare with 7-star hotel
3. Elite club memberships, hosting exclusive seven-course dinners at Taj Chambers, with monogrammed napkins, personalised menus, Cuban or at least Honduran cigars (Iโm not basing this just on the infamous party that was thrown for an MP from West Bengal at Chambers by a noted senior counsel: I have been to such parties with my senior and this actually happens).
4. BMWs, Maybachs, Pateks, suits tailored from London
5. Friends in high places. If you join politics, a Rajya Sabha or at least a Vidhan Parishad seat
6. Money can buy honey ๐
Cons:
1. Health problems arising from stress and lack of exercise: obesity, hypertension, heart disease.., possibly an early grave
2. Those two overseas holidays a year are the only quality m time you spend with family: so just 15-20 days in a year. So your family may grow apart, or they will love you only for the expensive gifts you shower upon them.
3. For many people, you simply lose your conscience and morals, defending the most corrupt and honest people in the world.
The issues and grievances are the following: The boys and girls want to roam outside their hostels past midnight. They consume and store liquor, drugs, narcotic substances in their rooms. The good students are tormented by these hoolingans but the innocent students are forced to join in the protests. These non-serious students party in restaurants till wee hours and still want entry without any objections by the security or wardens. Many of them do not attend classes but try to pass the exams.
This is the story of 2nd or 3rd tier NLUs wherein a number of faculty (not all the teachers) maintain total silence and enjoy the hungama on campus.
The Patiala VC has committed mistake by entering the girls hostel as he never knew that issues of female privacy can snowball into a controversy and it has really snowballed.
Poor fellow (VC) doesn't know the students politics of NLUs and was caught unaware. Only insiders know the story of tantrums within the 2nd & 3rd tier NLU students.

It seems some of you are quite entitled, so let me clear a few things up for you:
1. The millipede issue is a regional problem affecting Gujarat, not just GNLU. This phenomenon occurs occasionally, and thereโs not much the university can do about it. In previous years, it hasnโt been as bad, but unfortunately, your batch seems to be the unlucky ones. Entire villages in the area have had to evacuate due to these millipedes.
https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/india/millipedes-invade-village-in-gujarat/articleshow/73593.cms
Understand that the university has limited control over such natural occurrences
2. Iโm not sure which floor you're staying on, but the housekeeping staff cleans every floor four times a day. Plus, you can request additional room cleaning whenever you want. Water coolers and RO systems are available on every floorโIโve been drinking the same water for four years and have never fallen ill. Fogging is done twice a week to control mosquitoes. Dengue is a nationwide issue right now; beyond a point, it's your responsibility to take precautions. Maybe stay in your rooms and focus on studying instead of wandering around campus all the time.
3. Your Freshers' event was canceled because of your batch's behavior. Many first-years have been caught smoking weed or drinking alcohol, even after repeated warnings from the wardens and professors. Also, considering the semester is almost over, hosting Freshers' now is logistically impossible. But don't worryโGarba will be in full swing soon. Focus on your CETs for once.
4. College isnโt just about making friends and having fun. Itโs about education and hard workโsomething your batch seems to have forgotten. You're spending more time on Instagram than focusing on your studies. GNLU is one of the most relaxed NLUs. Thereโs minimal academic pressure, and the administration gives you a lot of freedom. There are barely any hostel curfews, and numerous events and conferences are held regularly, yet you donโt seem interested in attending anything educational. If youโre finding it hard to survive at GNLU, maybe you should consider transferring to a local university because NLUs might not be the right fit for you. Schools like NLUJ, NLS, NALSAR, and NUJS have far tougher curriculums and fewer resources than we do. GNLU is one of the richest NLUsโyou have vending machines installed everywhere, a metro just outside the campus, GIFT City nearby, a three floor library. You get access to pretty much everything. No other college offers such a combination of resources and a laid-back administration.
Itโs high time you guys concern yourselves about what is more important. With the kind of attitude and work ethic you guys have shown so far, Iโd be surprised if most of you manage to clear your first semesters tbh.
If this was not related to university or environment then the person living his last of moments wouldn't waste in sending a random ass quote and mail to college.
Law as a profession is filthy gutter, this guys speaking anything by taking validation of I'm close friend of individual, you were anything but close friend of him.
I wish you had better analysis skills
PREFACE: I dont want to come off as an undeserving entitled person while I ask which one should i 'choose' of these prestigious firm while not having the best CV. I am grateful for these connections and i am just trying to optimise this time to ensure i get a job.
I want your opinions in selecting a firm based on following considerations:
1 firm that is actually likely to hire based on vacancies (most imp)
2 seniors are more open to mentor than rest of the options
3 better work enviorment ( not hostile) compared to rest
Here are the pros and cons of having an NRI quota in NLUs, as I see it:
Cons:
1. People with low CLAT scores get in, dilutes standards.
2. Larger batch size adds to placement pressure.
3. Places rich students at at advantage
Pros:
1. โฎโฎโฎ
2. โฎโฎโฎ
3. Students who are not rich can always make it through the merit list or EWS/domicile/caste quotas. Also, some of the fees raised through NRI quota can be used as scholarship money for students from poor backgrounds.
Thoughts everyone??? โฎโฎโฎ
