Gossip, insults, and negativity often draw more attention than constructive discussions. However, I am certain that Legally India was never intended to be a platform for fueling frustration and cynicism.
Lately, we have observed certain anonymous voices attempting to pass judgment on professors who have dedicated decades—often far longer than the lifespan of these commentators themselves—to academia and legal scholarship. These individuals freely opine on everything under the sun, despite lacking the expertise or qualification to do so. Their motives are often transparent: promoting a select few while unfairly maligning others, particularly those who are making significant contributions to legal education and scholarship.
The pattern is clear—selective praise for certain individuals or institutions, coupled with unwarranted attacks on others (e.g., NUJS, NLUJ, NLUD vs. NLS; Sudhir biopic, CLC bashing etc). A robust academic discourse thrives on reasoned debate and informed critique, not anonymous potshots driven by hidden agendas. Let’s not allow such divisive narratives to overshadow the true purpose of this platform.

How is the work culture and workload in the Corporate team at the Bangalore office and is Induslaw Bangalore hiring associates considering the recent exodus of partners and hiring of new ones
Thanks in advance!
Wondering how common this is

Plus some additional questions.
I have heard in this forum that MBB is very hectic but I have got diverse views from other sources. Although continuous travel is challenging, but I have been told that actual work hours are less than in law firms.
I have been told that pay is equal to big law, but I have reservations on this. With so much of opacity, I don't think you can make a good judgement on pay. Regardless, consulting is much more broader field with more options to switch than law.
As per my experience, average bonuses vary from 2-2.5 months' salary with 3-3.5 months being the upper limit. At the junior level, this could range from 1.5 months' to 2.5 months' salary. Have heard that the Partners bonus ranges from 4.5 months' to 6 months' salary.
Would be grateful if other can share info about other disputes teams.
TL is an excellent firm. They are doing splendidly and are very well run. Merit is rewarded. I find them competent and whenever we are opposite each other, the transaction goes through very smoothly.
You do surely understand that the vast majority of the people who take a giant dump on TL and similar firms are total failures who ought not have studied law in the first place? If you take the droppings of these dregs as advice, I can only wish you, all the best and God bless you.
its silly to assume people who take opposing view points do it because of personal/ ego reasons and not because they simply disagree with you about how to make the world better.
After the Mass hirings for 2025, are students getting placed from these colleges?

If the University cannot get its own name correct in the degree certificates distributed during the convocation, it shows how rotten things are.

Overall apathy, lack of funding, and domicile quota are curses for all state government institutions. These three plague NLUs as well. We are witnessing the same in NLS as well - it is just that in the initial days the downfall is not acknowledged or not visible (but it is happening). Karnataka Govt is notorious for killing good institutions.
Tier 1.5: NLUJ NLUD GNLU
Tier 2: RGNLU NLUO SLSP Jindal
Tier 3: GLC
Note: NLUD is ABSOLUTELY NOT tier one if you are looking for a corporate law job. Stop falling for the lies here. If you are 100% sure about going for corp then stick to NALSAR or NUJS, cause with increased NLS batch size I don't think they would be able to place everyone. NALSAR placed everyone in BO24, including 25+ in-house offers, and NUJS (keeping aside all its flaws) is still the place to go if you are looking for a decent law firm job. BO25 got 70+ law firm offers, which is probably the highest among all top NLUs.
Then write comments here themselves.
Often make a mess of things themselves.
Clients go seek second opinion themselves.
Then get HK to make a phone call themselves.
AZB and CAM pay the lowest across all levels in the tier 1 circuit so keep both of them out of the talk.
No clue about TT&A or S&R given how super exclusive they are to the cream folks who don't leave.
"I strongly believe in hard work. Indians must work hard, whether it's 80 hours or 90 hours a week. If your ambition is to move from a $4 trillion to a $30 trillion economy, you can't do it through entertainment or by following the views of some film stars," he was quoted as saying.

On the plus side, if you luck out, a partner may refer you. An HR may grant your request. A lawyer may give you work at his chambers. The chances are low, perhaps 1 of 100, but that doesn't mean you don't try. What harm could an email even do?

Starting with the complete ▮▮▮ of the Principal, who struggles ▮▮▮, is disconnected with students and her appointment itself is been ▮▮▮ as mentioned in the article below. She has suppressed the core law activities in the college. She and the admin have made it difficult for each and every important committee to function, including the ADR Cell, Moot Court Association and even the Placement Committee. She on a regular basis declines permissions to these important cells for conducting events only to end up giving permissions for Marathi Mandal and Cultural Committee two of the most useless committees in the college. She has managed to get GLC a extremely poor NAAC assessment by her sheer ▮▮▮, and is now punishing the students for speaking up against her in from of NAAC.
Half the data that has been submitted to NAAC is ▮▮▮. There are no research platforms provided to us, except the ones Government provides for free like NList, there is no Access to any rare book library or gymkhana either. The College is covered with dust, there are no windows, windows are covered with asbestos sheets instead. Upon a mere RTI one can find the sheer ▮▮▮ and ▮▮▮ going on ▮▮▮.
The Administration itself is ▮▮▮. They have tried to introduce Biometric attendance, which 90% of the times doesn't record our attendance or records it in some random subject we don't even have. They don't follow university timelines to declare results, our revaluation results come well after half a year. They can not even print our marksheets correctly. We ourselves have to go and show them the mistakes they have made, and if we are late in doing that they fine us! How ridiculous is that?? We are expected to be on time but the office staff will not come in before 11 and will leave before 4 pm. Not to mention the one hour lunch break.
GLC has the most, incompetent Law permanent faculty. Professors like ▮▮▮ ▮▮▮, ▮▮▮ ▮▮▮ who enforce attendance so strictly, don't even know the basics of law. ▮▮▮. There is a case going on against ▮▮▮ for not following the MU rules while enforcing attendance. But one can not blame ▮▮▮ because ▮▮▮. Both of them have made students beg and cry for letting them write papers.
Coming to attendance, GLC had excellent professors up until a few years ago. Ever since ▮▮▮ was appointed, the quality has dropped. They literally take walk in interviews for faculty that's how bad the situation is. As a recourse students started interning full time to secure jobs, which also Asmita is against. God forbid someone mentions internship in front of ▮▮▮. I believe ▮▮▮.
Please juniors please listen to me. People who are serious about getting jobs atleast, people who are considering joining GLC. Don't come here. Juniors transfer to ILS, NMIMS even PGCL ffs. I am telling you, I used to defend GLC to anyone and everyone. Its just never going to be the same anymore. I have attached a few links below. Anyone who doesn't believe me come to GLC for just a day, you will see what is going on. For the people who already are neck deep into their degree, we need to put Vaidya in her place. Suggest any and every idea you have to fight this, as a reply. I am doing this anonymously because I don't know how much support I have. If I get enough support we can start some offline action.
This is also a cry for intervention, to our Alumni if any on LI. Please please help us. To the counsels in HC, to the Partners in Law firms and to the Members of the Advisory Committee please help us.
#▮▮▮.

You learn by working on briefs of your senior and observing. There is very healthy culture of discussion and debate within most chambers.
Eventually you wait for a right opportunity where you get your own brief to shine and excel.
I agree that it’s a tough practice, especially for someone who is not from the city and has fixed monthly outgoings.
