While I couldn't care less about what the folks at Legally India have to say about this, I recently conducted a survey at tier 2 NLU on whether people identify as favoring left or right leaning politics. Around 200 people responded, and most called themselves "centrist"; or centre to right.

So many "contested" and "trollish" comments can only mean that the Mods are publishing only those comments that praise the firm and its founder. I submitted a true first-hand experience of working at the firm, and it has been removed, as have all other comments ▮▮▮ :)

I am fresher starting out in a generalist team (GC, M&A, PE) in a tier 2-3 law firm. Would it be harder to make the shift to a Tier 1, with 1-2 years of PQE, given the wide nature of the team? Is lateral shifting easier in areas such as Banking and Finance or Capital Markets?

CTC of 13.something last year, including insurance, bonus and a bunch of other irrelevant stuff. In hand comes to ~75k per month.

Work is boring and uncomplicated, but very rarely do you ever work post 5PM. Weekends are respected. Probably not as great if you're looking for long term growth, but if you want to pass your time while you party/prepare for something better and don't have responsibilities, nothing better.

Rich SoBo kids play these sports and artificially price the rackets and balls high, to keep others out. Not to mention the high cost of booking a court. Many of the courts are also in posh clubs and gated communities, so you cannot book them even if you want to. Just as golf is the sport of choice for rich boomers, these new racket sports is preferred by their privileged children. Needless to say, all these people are right-wing capitalists

The second point brings out the real reason for your resentment. You cannot afford Padel/pickleball equipment and access to expensive venues, hence you are resentful and trying to disparage the sport. Even among law schools, only Jindal has Padel courts, funded by Emirates airlines. But then, by your logic, even golf and equestrian shouldn’t be in the Olympics because of the same reason — elitism and lower calorie burn than football, tennis etc. Shooting too.

So just proletarian resentment against the bourgeoisie. In reality, you too will join he bourgeoisie when you graduate and join a law firm.

The law-school d|ck waving became so tiresome, I stopped checking legallyindia. Legallyindia was supposed to be a place where law firm Associates and seniors could ask about firms, teams and practice areas, and people could share insider info. I think the political bickering and law school d|ck waving has driven all the serious people out of legallyindia.

Congratulations especially to those who made it to the merit list of this tough exam, where the cutoff is higher in relation to the reserved list and the age limit is also lesser. But let’s also acknowledge the sad fact that there is a hierarchy within the UPSC where the IAS, IPS and IFS are treated as superior to others. So much so that even a history or sociology IAS graduate has been chosen in top economic posts ahead of an IRS officer, while IPS officers are chosen to head the BSF ahead of BSF cadre. Sadly, those who have been assigned cadres outside the big 3 appear for the exam AGAIN. A case is point in ▮▮▮ of ▮▮▮, who was initially an IRS officer but then gave the exam again to become an IPS officer.

I'm a 4th Year student from a T1 NLU with a subpar GPA. Making this post currently because I do not have a single internship for the upcoming Summer months and have Zero leads to change that. This is freaking me out, since Day Z is in August and my CV is alright but will certainly not make par if I do not intern over May/June. (I made it to a T1 but haven't really thrived here.)

In my self-assessment, I am in this circumstance from being a wonky guy socially, incapable of creating opportunities for himself. I can vouch for my work and my inherent interest in Law and the World.

So here I am, asking anyone who can help to provide a Lead into a decent Corp Law internship over this Summer, considering the short timescale.

KCo says it has a dedicated DCM team. Truth is it's so called dedicated "DCM" team does everything and anything that pays and anything to do with any kind of debt. I fail to fathom how can they do such broad work. Good on them if they actually have such expertise, but I have my doubts that one team can do anything and everything to do with debt.

Is it going to change my current ranking ? I was expecting to get into NLUJ or NALSAR.

So now what the government thinks is supposed to be the benchmark for reality or what other people think/correctness, is it? I see you guys would rather we became an Indian subcontinent version of North Korea than just acknowledge that you went to an inferior law school! This is what happens when you send 18-year-old kids to university. Their entire identities become entwined with their institutions to the point that they will say anything stupid, just to put others down!

To add to other feedback given: I have never understood, is there a specific way to mark something as 'contested' or do you just give a reason for why something should be marked 'contested' when reporting a comment, and the mod will apply the tag? If there is a button for another user to mark something as 'Contested', I have never been able to access it with the screen reader that I use (as I am completely blind).

You are an A1 trying to hit on a PA who makes about 4 times more than you and is probably more than 6 years older than you. Sometimes I wonder what criteria these T1s employ while hiring people. Is this something that really have to be told to you? Does any of it not sound super stupid and bizarre to you?
