HNLU Raipur defeated NLU Jodhpur in the finals of the first edition of NLIU Juris Corp Moot Court Competition, taking HNLU to joint 5th place in MPL Season 2, whereas last season’s number four NLU Jodhpur has moved to joint 19th spot.
RGNUL Patiala and CNLU Patna were the two semi-finalists. CNLU also won the best-memorandum award. While RGNUL moved to 14th spot, CLNU became 26th college to enter the MPL Standings.
Divij Kishore from Nalsar Hyderabad earned his college crucial 5 points by winning the best-speaker award at this tier 5 moot. With a total of 46 points, Nalsar now leads the MPL standings. NLIU Bhopal is at close second spot with 44 points.
NLIU MCA Convenor Shantanu Tyagi said that the competition was one of its own kind, with 22 teams participating, 29 judges to judge the preliminary rounds alone and another 9 judges to judge the Quarter and Semi Finals. The Finals were judged by a bench comprising of Hon'ble Mr. Justice Deepak Verma, Judge, Supreme Court of India, Hon'ble Mr. Justice Satish C. Sharma, Judge, Indore bench of Madhya Pradesh High Court and Mr. H. Jayesh, Founder Partner, Juris Corp, advocates & solicitors, Mumbai, he said. Participants from 22 colleges came as strangers but left as friends, he added.

kick butt in this years MPL too.
HNLU Hasnt "won" the south africa moot- the world human rights moot at south africa is on 8th-9th dec, 2010 and HNLU is one of the three Asian teams selected to participate in the competition after a Memorial screening round. The other two teams from the ASIA region are both from the Philippines
