1. Be kind, respectful and helpful to each other.
2. Be bona fide, truthful, genuine and curious.

I am a recent graduate of NLIU with 80% aggregate marks. Do I stand a reasonable chance to be rated as superior?
Pros:
- VC of an NLU, even if it is the newest and last-ranked one.
- He teaches corporate law and is starting a BBA LLB course at NLUM. So no nonsensical criminology focus.
Cons:
- TLC background and likely to resist Sudhir-style alumni hiring
- Weak academic credentials. His bio mentions a book by Lambert publishers and a journal called the US-China Law Review by David Publishers, both of which are listed as pay-to-publish scam publications on various sites. Most of his publications are co-authored with students or his wife, who is a criminal law professor. So you will see a laughable mix of publications on corporate law, crimes against women, environment etc.

1. They should not take credits, as students worked hard themselves, right?
2. Students also should not join coaching institute and should instead mail successful past year aspirants to take 'free guidance'.
Grow up OP. You haven't seen the world. No one has got time for guiding others for free. Even you would like to work 10 minutes more for your law firm beyond your designated time if they don't pay you overtime
But no one online talks about what they should do to make their college better. They just assert that it is and insult people who disagree.
I donโt want nlud or nalsar to just be better than the other. I donโt want them to be satisfied with nirf rankings. I want them to compare themselves to HYP/ Oxbridge and see where they fall short and go and fix their problems. But alas. Weโre so happy with our mediocrity.
Is this correct?

For them, if they are getting a right direction by paying a couple thousand rupees, what's wrong in that. Let me tell about myself. Being a student from non-NLU, when I personally texted many working people for guidance, and they never cared to reply back. This is when I approached a few career mentors and they gave me the right direction to proceed. Ofcourse, I got the job due to my own efforts, but getting their experience and guidance really helped.
Have you ever been on a rant like this for Dominos or alcohol manufacturers for selling overpriced stuff? Do we even think twice before shelling out 1000s of rupees on restaurants or movies? Then why be so negative and suspicious when spending few 1000 rupees on something that is definitely not wasteful and comes in the ambit of 'educational investment'?
Just my 2 cents. You are free to disagree.

I have no problem with this, but I have a big problem when Sudhir, Vikramjit & Co make the argument that other NLUs are state universities and cannot be compared with NLSIU. It was dishonest, unethical and unnecessary of them to make this argument before the Karnataka High Court, which didnโt know any better. Why bring others down?
Further, a lot of these people themselves do not have access to public amenities such as sewage system, roads, etc. Again, he is right about how he is feeling...

Why are people not addressing this fundamental issue and looking elsewhere for placing the blame?
Why do we need foreigners ---- are Indians incapable of reviewing the school

Aren't ur placement numbers plagiarised.
On a serious note, I expect the Review Commission will recommend that NLSIU be given INI status without domicile quota. This may be the whole reason why foreign experts were appointed. The question then arises about what happens to other NLUs, because a #NationaliseNLUs petition was signed by all NLU student bodies in 2016 or so.
to give you a fair bit of background. I'm graduating in a couple of months and have one assessment internship lined up. It's the only lead I have as of now. My main priority coming out of law school is to start my career and take care of my parents so I intend to ace the internship. So the law firm specializes in a number of cross-border transactions, acquisitions, PE and gen corp work. Based on your experiences and learning, I would love to hear any recommendations that you could provide to help me prepare for the role and convert it into a potential job.
Also, one constant feedback I've received over a number of internships is to "have an eye/attention for detail" and "further research". I would appreciate it if anyone senior or way experienced could actually give examples/instances of what the statement boils down to or is it a generic statement most seniors pass down to juniors?
Thanks in advance,
Your fellow struggling anxiety induced final year law student
In terms of expenditure, GNLU is more affordable, and the environment is more laidback. However, the crucial point is that if you manage to get into either of these institutions, it is definitely worth attending, and taking a drop year won't be worth it at all. There is hardly any significant difference between these institutions and the Top 3 law schools in regards to placements.
Thanks!
Basically it's like giving popsicles. Isn't it?
Appointing a SRC with that good of professors , man itโs so cool plus he now has the blessings of CJI. No one can stop NLS now.
โNow I am become death , the destroyer of the worldโ - NLS folks to their haters โค๏ธ
It works.
Menon convinced Bar Council of India & Karnataka Govt. Raj convinced Naveen Jindal and Haryana Govt ๐๐
NUJS people defending this course: just wait until the first batch graduates and their placements data is lumped with that of the BALLB batch during NIRF data submission. Reality will hit you.
Actually, what I find more common is people covering up if their partner is from a lower caste and got admitted through reservation.
As far as choosing one of these two goes, NLS. The rigour of their academics will help and a larger batch size might mean you have more options to date (unless 70% are all guys again) and make new friends and wonโt be suffocated by the same boring people for 5 years where thereโs no chance to build new relationships.
And honestly, NALSAR is not better, the whole top 2 rivalry thing is not much better, and itโs location means you canโt even get away from the place easily to take a break or go home.
