I'm in my final year of law school (non-nlu) and plan on attending an LLM next. My CLAT PG scores weren't great (4800+) so I applied for JGLS' LLM program. The consortium has released 2 lists so far, and I think the 5th list would be out by June.
1. Is it advisable to hold off the admission decision until the consortium releases the 5th merit list and the vacancies? Do I have a chance of getting NLUO or HNLU at the least?
2. From a job perspective, what's the better specialization to go for?
a. Corporate and Finance
b. IPR and Tech
c. International Trade and Investment
(My interest areas are Tech law and International Trade law)

I've been researching reading testimonials, talking to llm students and grass and also talked to partners and founders at T2, T3 firms and it seems that the opinion is unanimous that LLM credential is not something which will improve job prospects unless you wanna go into academics or govt job. They barely have placements as the LLM candidates have to invite firms and Cos seperately and no T1's or T2's even respond.
On top of this it's honestly depressing how faculties, admin and even bachelor's students treat LLM students. I've seriously considered dropping the plan to attend the program altogether. Only possible merits are:
1) Networking with a good peer group
2) Getting NLU alumni tag
3) Access to good facilities and some semblance of a law college life which I personally lacked at a shit pvt college
If ur clat score was roughly 5,000, frankly speaking I don't think you stand a chance buddy , forget corp. I may be a bit harsh here. I got 1764 and am getting 25% scholarship in Jindal on my Clat score, yet I have deciding to not go for llm coz it's just not worth the effort. Haan SLS Pune, Top 3 Nlus or Jindal might help u in networking or building your brand, but job to u have to find on your own.
The best specialisation course at Jindal is “How to date and marry the gorgeous girl whose dad is a multicrorepati”. But remember to take part 2 of the course next semester as well: “How to get her dad to not shoot me”.
Don’t do an LLM from India. Do an MBA instead. It’s tough to get into IIM for general category students, but you can try good private institutes like ISB and SP Jain.
I guess one year of work ex helps ,I know PPL who worked for one year and then got placed through Jindal in JSW or firms .
First frehsers , it's more like you are on ur own kind of stuff. Only two PPL i know got decent job through job hunting, rest had to fend for themselves, that too settling for lower-paying Jobs
I am recently getting admission offers from JGLS for their LLM program. Now before you give you advices , I want to ask a very simple question. Kya LLm krke job prospects Bhadte H? Coz I have ssen one of my seniors got an assesemnt internship at Lexygen after her masters. Also I have a considerably god track record in Corp and M&A, but my collge tag is eating up my opportunities. Shall I Take admission and use the resources to boost my career prospects next year or should I wait and gain work ex before goind, as I already have a job but it is not very good salaried.

Few reasons:
1. LLM students are treated very well. Senior Professors are reserved who teach only LLM students.
2. Jindal experience (international conferences, good food, laundry, very nice facilities)
3. Not much expensive. Tuition fee of 350000 or 175000 per semester is lowest in all Jindal programs. Scholarships can further reduce.
No jobs and admin doesn’t care after taking hefty fees.
