Dont fall for peer pressure or care about remarks of these 'new money' fools who splurge on depreciating assets every year just to be cool.
There are certain managing partners who use/d nokia communicator / blackberry, android phones and basic iphones for the longest time so long as they did the job. They are beyond these 'style statements' and are busy making real wealth.
My advice take the holiday. Also no major upgrades in performance of iphone 15 compared to iphone 13 despite all the cool lingos used to sell the new features.

I can't disclose everything here i'm sorry, its just an overview of my profile.
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:Arghya is from NLSIU with a DPhil from Oxford (in Constitutional Law). Arghya is also a Rhodes scholar and NLSIU gold medalist. The person criticising him is from NUJS with an LLM from King's College London (in Tax Law). Even if I assume parity between NLSIU (NIRF rank 1) and NUJS (NIRF rank 4), or Oxford (QS rank 2) and KCL (QS rank 15), a person with a DPhil/PhD in Constitutional Law is unquestionably superior to an LLM in Tax Law when it comes to matters of constitutional law.
ENDORSEMENTS:
Fali Nariman has praised Arghya's book. You will see his quote on the cover. Need I say more?
IDEOLOGY:
Everyone is free to have an ideology. We are not a communist country like China and North Korea. Also, is Fali Nariman pro-BJP as per your logic? Finally, show me ONE place where Arghya/Vidhi has endorsed the BJP. Yes, Vidhi drafted a version of the UCC and has supported it in newspapers. So what? Since when is UCC = BJP? The Constitution mandates it (in the DPSP) and the Supreme Court has also said we should have it. A Muslim judge like AS Ahmadi has supported UCC.
MERITS OF THE ARGUMENT
Finally, and most importantly, the Constitution indeed needs a review. The Vajpayee government set up an excellent committee to review the working of the Constitution. It pointed to legitimate problems like a backlog of judges, lack of police and administrative reforms, etc. The Committee was headed by a very respected judge (Venkatachaliah) had distinguished people from all backgrounds, like BP Jeevan Reddy, RS Sarkaria Soli Sorabjee, PA Sangma, CR Irani, Abid Hussain etc. I quote from the report:
" During the last two decades and more, there was a persistent demand in the civil society – from some NGOs, academics, constitutional scholars and others – that the working of the Constitution be subjected to a comprehensive review. Several books and a large number of articles and research papers devoted to the theme of constitutional review and reforms were published (some of these have been listed in the bibliographies annexed to Consultation Papers and were taken fully into account and used by the Commission in its study and deliberations) and many seminars and conferences organised in different parts of the country."
So why single out Arghya?
Facts:
1. After MS and VS, they wanted to gobble up their share in the lit side.
2. They wanted a bigger share of the entire pie in the rejigged L&L
3. When RKL rebuked their efforts, they rallied other against RKL with false narrations/stories
4. When they had no choice to leave, they threatened leaving and their bluff was caught by RKL
5. They wanted to break L&L Lit completely (to avenge against RKL) so offered high salaries to 'literally' everyone and promised work with a 'guarantee of work and pay for atleast 2 years'. Only 50 in L&L accepted their offer knowing their earlier stands (like cutting salaries in Covid while the firm revenue remained mostly stable and they still made a nice nifty profit at the end of the year)
6. When all of it was backfiring at DSK because they never had a concrete plan, they said we never promised anything to anyone, so anyone who was 'mislead' by us can leave. They refused to even share the burden of 25% salaries as no team was meeting targets. 'Loyalists' shifted from LL DSK to DSK.
7. If they leave, then why are not the 'Loyalists' of 50 people moving with them to their new venture? Maybe ask the 'loyalists' who have already shifted to other firms the truth? Because they now understand that they were beautifully played. HSC and SS can retire today, maybe the 'loyalists' still need money to pay their expenses and EMI's.
I will then be able to you the strengths and weaknesses of your profile
P.S. - Attaching a writing sample is generally not necessary when applying with tier 2/3/4 firms. But it helps in getting your application shortlisted. A writing sample aligned with firm's practice area, can help the recruiter shortlist you application faster.
So I will probably have to buy it because of peer pressure. But I want to know what the main benefits are. Is it just longer battery life, or are the interface and functions better? One thing that annoys me is the emergency off button appearing alongside the power off button. Is that feature still there? Seems like a dumb question, but as I said I am not a big tech guy, so apologies for that.
If you work hard, by the end of 3rd year, you can have a CV worthy of being shortlisted with an organisation like VCLP.
Say, if an SA1 is earning 30 LPA, you'd be earning 15LPA.
The work then is very much research oriented combined with commincations with various people and writing a lot.
For law firms, I know of PLR Chambers which I believe is at the helm of policy work in the law firm industry. Otherwise there are also think tanks like Vidhi which lead the policy work, especially when it comes to dealing with the government.
If you want to orient your CV in this field, start doing a lot of internships and publications in this field. You can start interning at places like think tanks, PRS Legislative, Civil Society Organisations, apart from law firms.
Apart from the long hours, what do you think about the work?
And of course the narrative of in-house counsels being equated with lazy retards who leave work at 5 definitely does not help my case. Which, just FYI is completely false.
Thank you for your perspective and I hope you are able to make it through.
IBs also hire for their in-house legal team, for that prior experience in a bank would be great but I have also seen them rope in people from law firms.
Do know that I'm not the most qualified to answer your question and my answer is based on my general observation.
I wish you all the best!
You're going to know for sure how much being a "woman" helps you climb up that ladder.
Do also research upon reversal of such surgery coz I'm sure you're gonna want to.
Peace!

Can you guys help me with a set of questions that may be primarily be asked in an interview for A1 in Banking Team?
Will appreciate the same.
Aur if it’s tier-3 and glc , then anyday even ils is better lol
Now coming to the technicalities of your question. Retaking MHCET is absolutely fine if you don’t want to sit for clat. The thing that’s worrying me is that GLC has very less seats. Only 35 unreserved for general. So regardless how easy the mhcet paper is or how many people are competing - your chances will still be as low as other excellent aspirants. You will have more psychological anxiety trust me as the exam approaches.
So what are the solutions? Definitely not staying at a tier-3. I mean yes if you don’t crack any of your desired competitive exams - by all means stay in your requisite T-3 and try to do marvellously well there.
But the solutions for you are - try retaking clat before mhcet or any other competitive exam for that matter. Okay? Just for you to get into the one of it. If you are gonna do it- just do it right. Give ailet - don’t have any expectation , just sit for it. Who knows? Maybe that environment helped you crack mhcet later on.
I cracked it this way. I also changed from a tier-3 nlu (not exactly as bad as a tier-3 but well) to ils Pune. I know the odds and favours of it.
AND YES - a glc or ils tag right now nationally or internationally is much more valuable than a tier-3 nlu tag (claiming this after studying at high places)
All the best and good luck for your exam! Maintain your backup well. Don’t be afraid
To be fair NLU, and amongst them as well, the NLS tag would be worth much more in future. However, the concerns are very valid for the poor meritorious chaps who wish to get out of the socio-economic traps.
I remember receiving forwarded messages every now and then as to how some talented individual was unable to make the ends meet and wished to have a crowdsourced fund for paying up the fee to college.
I got one of the lower Nlu after I gave Clat 2023 after a drop, since I joined college I am getting depressed watching things around
Though I couldn't give Clat again Bcz of psychological anxiety. I am preparing for writing mhtcet again, so that I can get glc
Will it be worth it after 2 drop!!!
If that doesn't work, take 2-3 years to work in a place with good academic mentors where you can write and publish a bit. That way you'll have the publications and glowing recommendations to help you. You are better off going to a high ranked Singapore uni with scholarship than to a mediocre British one paying for yourself.
top of mid russell - ucl, kcl - min 60% (preferably in top 20%) + good sop
mid mid russell - Druham, Warwick, QMUL, Bristol, Sheffield, Manchester, Edinburgh, nottingham etc. - min 60% (preferably in top 30%)
low russell - southampton, QUB, soas, exeter, leeds, newcastle - min 60% may go upto 55% depending on Indian uni (have some relaxation for NLUs)
Having said that, the team requires you to work whenever work comes. So might take a slight hit on the social life. The mass resignations are because of the pay structure which is a JSA level problem and not a problem with Raj per se.
He runs a ▮▮▮ think tank that gives RSS propaganda an intellectual facade.
These guys literally released a model UCC bill prepared by ▮▮▮- ▮▮▮ (they also mentioned the name of authors, and there were around 10 people).
The law will mainly affect minorities and tribals as they would be asked to give up customs and practices and these MFs couldn't find a single person from the community.
Thank God, that criticizing ambedkar and by extension constitution is political suicide in India, or else these people would bring back manusmiriti.
Although it depends and is purely up to chance so do take a shot.
He didnt just get a masters- he got a dphil and wrote a very good book and worked in the non profit sector in india for years and basically held together the policy and governance school at APU and is now dragging NLS into the 2020s. And he might not have a ton of writing in shitty journals- but the writing he does have out there- its top quality stuff. He literally is feldmans peer except that feldman is a much more public and political figure.
NOT SURE THOUGH
Villagers call saheb even to Patwaris. Can you believe that?!?
I am very glad to come across such and experienced person here. I really wish to speak to you and get some guidance . Is there a way we can connect?
I am 2020 Graduate (3 Yrs LLB) from a far flung city. Me and my batchmates just knew about litigation and judicial services. Tried my luck in Judicial services but missed by few marks.
Financial stress and age short-circuted and disrupted my plan. We really did not know about corporate law firms. We also did not have placent or internship cell and environment.
After covid,I got to know what students from better universities do and how they plan their career. Through internet I was exposed to world of internships and possibilities but it was too late by then.
So, I started litigating under a senior civil lawyer in district court and I am still continuing. My wish is to work in GCA,M&A , VC , PE. How can I save my career now? What can I do to join T-1 firms ? Please guide
Most thankful
Additionally, internship experiences are also welcome.
If law firm partners and in house counsels could provide their two cents on this.
I personally know people who feel the same way, the grass is always greener on the other side. Remember that.
I’m thinking of shifting from B&F to PE/VC, and you want to jump into a dry well?
While PE/ VC has max 3-4 main documents to be drafted, B&F has 10-12. Sure maybe the diligence is lesser in B&F, but at least in diligence minor screws get covered in the DD report. You can’t screw up in the transaction documents which are voluminous and have to be reviewed and drafted properly. Even the workflow remains steady throughout the year and worsens during the quarter ends.
Maybe I have a biased view towards B&F because I didn’t like it. But pray tell, what makes you think B&F is interesting/ better fit for you?
Would love to know the hidden skeletons in PE/ VC work.

Let outsiders think we are living the life while we beat our health to pulp.
In a country struggling with income disparity and challenging social mobility - making education more expensive will only land you mediocre minds since it limits access to a privileged few.
Cheers.
Leading their loyalists to doom? Or rather sit out on taking salary (both LL & DSK) for their ‘loyalists’.
