why would you do that to yourself? employment teams are so overworked with matters which pay a pittance
Anyone on this platform cannot answer this reasonably. It is like comparing apple to oranges. Choose what you like- both professions are good and bad in their own way.
Cap Marks should have got full bonus. There is so much poaching that if they don't give full bonus, a lot of people will leave.
Can anyone please spill the deets on IC RegFin Delhi for its corp practice. Particularly want to know how's the culture, anything specific to watch out for and what's the pay at A1/A2 level.
Heard the Bombay office is toxic? I am not sure about Delhi tho. Which team should I refer to in Delhi? Please throw some light.
why would you certainly avoid VP? Can you tell more about him and his work
The pay difference between corp vs any other practice area is substantial - at least 30-40%.
People here, just got 14 LAKH bonus, eww so low apart from the 2.5 LAKHS PER MONTH yuck eww, also I pay very less taxes ewww yikes
2019 act doesn't provide any benefits, read it carefully . only id and the right to change your name and gender on all docs which is now 3xcluded by the amendment
they have not even been able to convince their own M&A teams that they are good at IP
how do you know you're getting GC at SAM? they dont confirm your team before day 1 of your internship. SAM mumbai has a great GC practice, but many teams are not hiring this year - so i would not count on it if i were you.
Start: It has already started.

End: (i) For PPOs - They are usually handed out till Day 0.

(ii) For Regular Hiring - Throughout Placement Season and even beyond, till graduation.

(May continue beyond graduation as well in some cases)
Yes, CAM does hire freshers as Paralegals. Usually, they are converted but subject to performance and team requirements of course.
If you're looking for precedents, all members of Recruitment Committee of NUJS have access to the official email. The system at NLUJAA seems highly problematic.
50 out of 120 students (assuming non-NLSIU) is the 58th percentile. I rest my case.
80-20.
80% connections.
20% if you are from a T1 NLU or doing good in colleges like GLC, ILS, Jindal, other NLU(s)
How is the work pressure like in the IP teams in Tier 1s? And how are the appraisals, bonus and environment in the team.
How are you so correct? When did you intern? I too just interned there
Yea, so the work that you do, you're getting it right? Getting clients at associate level, you must be harvey specter.
Where do NLS, NALSAR, NLUD, NUJS, NLUJ and GNLU stand in terms of placement in comparison to one another. I know the difference is marginal but, there is some difference.

Is it still true that NUJS gets the best placements like it was 3-5 years back ?
It depends on whether firms even choose to come to your campus for Day Zero. A lot of firms are choosing to hire via the PPO route, but yes, keep your grades as high as possible. Good luck!
Has there been any drama (like the famous Maharathi mail, scandal, etc) in any major Tier 1 or Tier 2 firms since the past 1 year? If so drop the tea
KCO has the largest IP team with around 80 lawyers spread across three locations - Mumbai, Delhi and Bangalore. It is top heavy too. CAM and Trilegal has newer IP teams - 3 year around. Growth is faster and money ofcourse.
Dont go!!! much rather to cm in tier 1 than this place
completely agree, cap marks is the most brain dead nonsense one can come across and its hilarious to see people with such an inflated ego doing this crap thinking they're the reason the economy is flourishing.
Yeah, the majority of the partners don't have their own book. Like Trilegal found out recently.
Though lawyers are respected in Indian society and nurses are not, the big advantage of a nursing degree is that it allows you the chance to migrate to developed countries, where nurses are is high demand. And nurses are definitely respected there and paid decently.
How does one apply for such roles? I don't think these are open to fresh grads.
You are considering MBA based jobs for better WLB? Let me let you into a secret, as lawyers, you will only qualify into consulting roles and not PE, and your wlb will be much worse with harsh travelling too. Good luck tho
Kyun, darr lag raha kya?

NFSU is so big that it will create its own legal ecosystem.

Remember, hum line me khade nahi hote. Hum jahan khade hote hai, wahin se line shuru hoti hai.
As it should be. "Innocent until proven guilty" was the essence of criminal law, #metoo changed it, mere allegation came to be regarded as the gospel truth. The judiciary is finally course correcting.
Can the insiders here name T1 and T2 Firms which take Paralegals immediately after their graduation?
I’m going to intern under the GC team of SAM Delhi office if anyone has any advice help please. Additionally, what partner if given an option should I intern under and how do I stand out because after this by day zero will start
Avoid at all cost. After the bonus saga I am about to quit. Work hours and get peanuts
How many have achieved this goal and how much time did it take?

Also how have you gone about it?
Try Ascendus Law Partners in NCR. Really boutique but very good quality M&A and VC work. Not sure if they are hiring though.
Avoid.. R surender is only litigating partner worth it. His team is hard to get in. Other partners hardly have any quality work..
And the students have got hands too dainty to punch anyway.
Yet our nation focuses on dog bites, when the reality is that cow bites are much more serious and commonplace.
Cows report to Vishwaguru, who has given clear instructions to keep partners in line.
Once you’re a senior associate, firms sponsor teeth restoration surgeries.
Disputes team here. Everyone got between 90% and 100% plus MPD. Nobody’s quitting in this team at least.
Hi i am also joining a t2 firm at Nariman point, currently staying at parel, I am also looking for a flat to shift nearby, let’s talk
Has anyone interned or got work at ICRC or IFRC ? How do I apply? I wish to work with these places but have no clue. Please help.

How miserable does your life have to be for you to say something like this?
It's an industry that's primarily run on connections and references. Woefully sad but true, I too couldn't comprehend how/why this is functionallpossible, but it is what it is.
Lr in Bombay Hc for 1.6 years. Looking forward to Start career in corporate white collar. Which firm should i consider in Delhi. What skills they are looking for.please
Mailed a partner from Tier 1 ( not JSA) (Gen Corp), got a reply from HR stating " no to mail again, will affect your chances of getting any further recruitment opportunities"
That's because you owe Bijuda money! Settle your dues asap, otherwise your admit card will be withheld!
The more downvotes a person gets here on this platform, the more suitable he is for the post. On that metric, he seems to be doing great so far! Almost all alum will bat for him among all internal candidates.
I feel the andhbhakt culture is creeping in law firms as well now
This is hearsay and BS probably. The partner is great and I have personally worked with the seniors in the team. I can never believe they will be ‘unpleasant’. Stop spreading misinformation. Looks good on you if you write after working in the field
Hey everyone, i have an option to choose between either delhi or mumbai office GC team for my upcoming internship with sam. Which office should i choose for? Like in terms of chances of callbacks and PPO offer.....

Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks!
Work hours are manageable. From what I have heard, there are a lot of time leaks due to poor management and inefficiency in the teammates
TMT would be about the same. IP is typically lower than the standard.
Lol what work? The partners go out to wine and dine at Michelin star restaurants, not to get work.
The event was organised by Justice Wilson and R. Sudarshan, Dean of Government and Policy School. Moreover, no MEA clearance is required for hosting talks with a foreigner, especially an ex-Judge (not even a sitting one), online. Get your facts right.
Cows lack upper teeth. However, they can still bite. Cow bites are quite common in villages.
I actually enjoy law, especially the way it has been taught in NLS. I am mostly disillusioned with the job market, given that I could not get one. Thanks for sharing your personal story tho, helps me see things in context.
They've started sending out acceptances. One person I know has got it
Judges have full freedom to interpret the constitution so yes, they are fully capable of giving whatever they can justify as a reasonable interpretation of A 21. which they have done consistently .
It's entirely up to the interviewing team. CGPA is definitely a big deal but CV also matters. in some years rank 50 has got selected in day zero. in some other years the shortlist didnt cross rank 25
I was wondering how much my fellow A0s saved to check if I'm saving enough, my savings : 11.5Lakhs (worked 9 months)
Hi everyone, I am a 4th year student and have upcoming internships lined up in the month of June, July and August in Real estate law, need advice on how I should prepare to make the most of it and convert these into PPO and callbacks :)

Thank you
It's only CAM that has a functional IP team among the Tier 1s.
Been that way since 2024 right?

SA1 starts at 2.6, then 2.9

PA starts at 3.5, 3.8, 4

Counsel starts at 4.4
Former GNLU - Stick to Law. Most of the roles lawyers end up getting post-MBA are as toxic as law firms, if not more. Additionally, you will also face difficulty in placements competing with engineers and finance professionals for the top roles.
Why do some people on this platform have a red name?
Yes all peeps from 2022 batch, please do tell. Despite being in a high billing team with above expected billable hours, the bonuses seem lower.
This is a ranking system in which MIT is the world's top university, and Nanyang is above Princeton! How do you even compare a science education to a legal education? It is meaningless.
The only thing keeping me going is the job I have to look forward to
All the best bro. As someone who spent the 5 years at an NLU and yet did not / could not do any of the things you listed, the disappointment is a shared feeling.
