We want LI to be one of the friendliest places on the internet, where lawyers and law students help each other with their career related queries and occasionally discuss other stuff that might affect their lives too. In other words:
1. Be kind, respectful and helpful to each other.
2. Be bona fide, truthful, genuine and curious.
3. Assume the best intention of others.

Personal favourite elfen lied, Neon Genesis, Hajimeno Ippo.
Anyway does anyone have idea of international law for IIT and IIM ?
Whilst the profession itself is very fun, the culture completely ruins it. You are neglecting work hours very easily when it is the most important thing in your life. Maybe not now as a law school graduate or an a0 but when your parents get old, you have kids, you will definitely start to feel the burden.
Most t1 lawyers don't even get the weekends free to go out for a small trip with the spouse. What even is the point in earning when you can't even "live"
We know where the rot lies...
Hamas are savages. #IStandWithIsrael
There are believers of Islam and those Muslims who don't believe it totally. Else Islam as a religious in its full undeterred flow is radical and only radical.
Offline seems interesting (though out our league) because it seems to have no physical space and is just a community for people who set up companies worth USD 50 million upwards.

"It is UNPRECEDENTED that a lawyer can be named in an FIR for providing legal defence to a client. Every entity is entitled to a legal defence & lawyers cannot be charged no matter what the accusations against their client company are. Delhi Police has clearly filed a frivolous FIR against NewsClick which has no merits and has purely been done out of the vendetta of Modi & Shah. Invoking terror charges has only been done to ensure that the journalists stay in jail as long as possible before they get acquitted because the process is the punishment."

1. Will candidates with woke human rights CVs dominate yet again, or will the committee be open to a candidate unabashedly interested in commercial law?
2. Will NLSIU make a comeback and will its powerful connections/networks bear fruit?
She is an amazing boss to work with. Knows civil and commercial law inside out!! You will enjoy it.
All the best!
P.S. Swifties who think Taylor is a gender equality champion, she said this about Camille Belle in a revenge song:
"She's not a saint / And she's not what you think / She's an actress, whoa / She's better known / For the things that she does / On the mattress, whoa."
This mean girl and bully is your gender equality champ!
1. I have become politically conservative as I have grown older.
2. Israel helped India during our wars with Pakistan and is today one of our major trade partners. It also recognises Kashmir as a part of India. In contrast, Islamic countries often vote against India and support Pakistan at the OIC, and make speeches about Kashmir at the UN. The Palestine Ambassador to Pakistan shared a stage with Hafeeez Saeed some years ago. I don't think it's in national interest for us to choose Palestine over Israel.
3. I read about the history of antisemitism in the Islamic world. How the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem supported Hitler. I also read about the history of antisemitism among leftists and Marxists. Just read about how the Soviets spread hate propaganda about Jews, or what the RAF did in Germany. I view Hamas as an antisemitic and intolerant movement, and I have the same view of many of their supporters in the Left. I also think the Left instinctively hates prosperous and hard-working communities who believe in capitalism.
4. I think radical Islam is a big problem. I support Israel because it is a liberal and modern society, where women are free and gays have rights. I also admire Israel for its scientific progress.
Those who will downvote my comments, trust me: you will change your views as you grow older.
This is not to justify their brutality but to paint them as all evil is to belie facts.
Ps- check from seniors or others working with partners on who may be good hearted people, cold emails can go against as a report to the RCC if the person is an ass. Good day!!
Also no, this isn't paid PR/troll etc etc. Lastly, I'm not familiar with anyone anymore at the place personally, but it should be fairly good to work at, if they've not fucked up their work culture by hiring randos from SCAM/Tril/L&L/JSA/AZB.
Also the CS point no, people with high CTC are making very less in hand and 95% people make 3LPA at TCS who btw is on hiring freeze. Please just do what you like.
Casual NLUJ guy after being unemployed
As for your weird 90s India assumptions "bureaucrats are resistant to outside experts and our ministers are uneducated people who can barely read." would request you to check the qualifications of our ministers and lateral secretaries in the government. `Also perhaps the kind of "public policy" work CAM does.
Thirdly your conclusions based on "NLU" leadership is quite misleading. These NLUs have crowded several senior partners at the "Lala law firms" who disprove your point vehemently.
As for funding, I literally dont see you criticising foreign funding of the "non ruling" parties. the FEMA violations etc.
OK
Seems like the Hatim Hussain effect is back. Kudos!
What about the other four scholars? Are they from any tier-1 NLU?
Statements supporting Palestine so far: Qatar, Syria, Pakistan, Iran, Yemen, Jordan, new Maldives President-elect.
Ostensibly neutral statements with pro-Palestine tilt: Russia, China, Saudi Arabia,
Smirking in the background: Turkey (trying to play mediator and delighted that world will now forget ethnic cleansing of Armenians)
If you really "don't see" what she has done or achieved then brother, it's about time you stop jerking off to law books and wipe that partner's jizz off your eyes to read about the things that have been going on in Iran.
Read up why she is constantly jailed and read about this word called oppression, it will make you help "see" it
Goddamn idiot compared a pig who got in for a scam to an activist who has been constantly criticizing the regime and fighting for women's right all her life despite all the odds against her
Yes, legal industry is extremely harsh and in times like now where things have become more uncertain, you would be better off choosing a career where you can balance money and health. Unfortunately, legal profession mostly let us down on both the aspects. And it's becoming worse day by day.
Discussion on LI, reflect how significant number of people are dissatified in this profession. And how unaffected and indifferent the industry and its regulators are to bring any positive change for motivating new entrants to join and continue in this profession.
I am a fourth year law student with most of my previous internships revolving around IBC, Commercial and Indirect Tax Litigation in boutique law firms, counsel offices and one T1 Tax firm.
I would like insights on the folllowing:
1. Should I look to convert my Internships to Placements in Counsel offices or Law firms?
2. Law firms and Counsel Offices In MUMBAI for the same, with Potential for getting placed (No hiring freeze etc).
3. NOT related to the title of the post, But are we allowed to mention on our resumes the names of the cases we worked on, esp. if its prominent?
1. Due to attrition, more chances of PPOs
2. Less firms means maximal profits at them, chance to learn from the gods of the practice and work for a long while.
3. Lateraling to magic circle, Singapore or biglaw is exponentially easier
4. High fixed salary component, high partner pay
5. Highs and lows, no work during lows and hence free time during those weeks
Honestly, a student can study on his own.
Also how is Sudipta, worth shifting to?
1. NLSIU (the leader of all time)
2. NALSAR (great crowd and alumni)
3. NUJS (terrific placements)
4. NLUD (lackluster placements)
5. NLUJ (no domicile, good placements)
6. GNLU (huge batch, good placements)
7. NLIU (lots of domicile, good placements)
8. HNLU (solid alumni base, above average placements)
9. NLUO (growing fast, above average placements)
10. NUALS (good crowd, average placements)
Go to RGNUL/MNLU-M only if you are desperate for the NLU tag and you are confident of working hard.
Please avoid any NLUs after this (especially RMLNLU, they have horrible placements. 2023 batch just saw 6-7 law firm placements in a mass hiring year). Better go for JGLS/Symbi Pune/GLC after the top 10
People just see the LinkedIn posts of cap marks deal and think all of it is rosy
Always find her ideas ringing true in many walks of life since I've matured as a person.
For other points, yes, a T1 lawyer earns more than 99.99% of the engineers with similar experience but do keep in mind that wlb is non-existent in T1.
The idea of one civilization superior to another is the justification behind the evils of colonialism, my heart bleeds to see such comments from Indians.
