he is going to become prof at SAU in 2024, he has the required years now, he is most likely going to then add his jgls + sau prof year to get to 10 yrs in 2027 to become vc
It doesn't work like that. He's been at JGLS as a professor for 3 years only, probably not even that. He needs a total of 10 years as professor or equivalent to apply for VC ship.
JGLS professor designation is useless anywhere else. They would make anyone professor even if the person has little experience or publications. Not that Prabhash wasn't fully qualified and more. However, JGLS ranks aren't taken seriously outside JGLS.
He made a mistake. The money at JGLS is more and he could have become a VC elsewhere had he stuck around.
Has anyone become a VC from JGLS yet? In addition, don't underestimate the SAU perks, the salary is tax-free.
He's never been a professor and has been made director of a private law school which does not need to follow UGC norms anyway. Moreover, he does not even have an LLB degree either. Has got a BA, an MSc, an LLM and a PhD.
Ashish is not VC of BITS. He's just the Dean of its law school. Many people have gone to become Deans at different places (almost all of them shady law schools).

Only YSR Murthy has gone to become the VC of RV University in Bangalore
Salary at SAU is top-notch, paid in US dollar terms and completely tax-free, I doubt Prabhash is suffering at SAU financially. SAU pays as good if not better than JGLS.
That's quite accurate. JGLS ranks don't mean anything outside of the institution, and is a joke. Take for instance APK (who's amazing in tax no doubt). She was Assoc. Prof in JGLS but joined NLS as Asst. Prof.

Anyways, JGLS's loss is NLS's gain.
You guys are under a notion that Jindal Associate Profs are making more than UGC pay scale. There are Jindal Associate Profs and Full Professors who earn less than UGC pay scale!!! Some Associates got a ₹ 5000 pm hike after their promotion!!!
