We want LI to be one of the friendliest places on the internet, where lawyers and law students help each other with their career related queries and occasionally discuss other stuff that might affect their lives too. In other words:
1. Be kind, respectful and helpful to each other.
2. Be bona fide, truthful, genuine and curious.
3. Assume the best intention of others.

The teams are small, and few associates work with two teams simultaneously.
This is for the Disputes Team:
They give you the right amount of workβno extra work in my tenure as an intern with them. The work they gave me helped me understand the nitty-gritty of how a dispute team works. Overall, the experience is very good.
This is for the corporate team:
I worked with them for a few days, and the work given was also decent. However, the issue starts with the number of interns they take. In my tenure, they took around 12 interns, which I felt was unnecessary. Most of them wanted to work with the corporate team, so the work that I was getting from them was, most of the time, negligible.
You can work with both teams at the same time.
The washroom they had was very bad.
HR will try to give you very stupid work. The HR is very annoying. A few people on the corporate team will try to take your credit too. They will ask you to write stuff for them, and if it is published on their website or some other place, they most of the time don't give you credit unless you become stubborn.
Ask for work again and again if you decide to work there.
Overall, if you can adjust yourself to the environment and not let the problems they have affect you, I believe you will have a good experience and learn a lot.
All this of course assuming there is some actual evidence provided of MM's bribe taking. So far only statements have been issued by various parties.
Is DYC the first sitting CJI to give an interview to the media while still in office? From what I remember judges giving interviews to the media is generally frowned upon.
Solid guy.
Do your act and don't think about the result.
In December 1996, a group on the NLS campus led by Sanjay (now Kabir) Bavikatte organized the first gay rights seminar ever to be held on a University campus in India. The slogan for it was contributed by Gopal Shankarnarayanan (now SA in SC). It was held over a weekend and many independent thinkers like Flavia Agnes, Ratna Kapur and Indira Jaising participated. The group led by Kabir included Arvind Narain, Mathew John and the then President of NLS Meghana Abraham who was later with Amnesty for nearly 20 years. There was a lot of support from alumni as well including Vivek Divan.
My point is that if you are decided about law, make sure you crack the top 5 and then get your degree. There will be no remedy if you join other nlus. Maybe HNLu will also work. So prep well
Since clat is unpredictable, buck up your attitude for MBa as well (CAT is tougher but there are better MBA colleges in totality than law) for a backup. You need to smoothly transition into law. And if that means law firm, then you are on a right path. Your degree is your strength not weakness. There are a lot of people out there who did the same thing. Some other person suggested to take the CUET five year llb as well. Not bad! Keep your options open. Maybe give ailet so that you donβt miss the Delhi culture.
Is it because of their college? Or their GPA (but their background is not finance).
Need some tips on how to enrich mooting skills as have never done that and secondly improving negotiation as well?
Here is the photo. It's very blurry but you can faintly see the side profile of a dog wearing a red, blue and white collar. The collar is the giveaway, I think.

Please help me with this.
For the month of May 2024, I have the privilege to have the option of opting for an internship either in SAM, CAM, JSA or Indus (All in Capital Markets, Mumbai barring JSA which is still Mumbai).
Ive heard that CAM isn't hiring for its offices. Have heard similar things for SAM and Indus. JSA toh chodo. Can someone please clarify the hiring trends in these firms (by May 2024).
Also have one with S&R, Delhi. Help me with this one too.
Thank you in advance. Willing to pay for the best researched and authenticated responses.
(Gosh as Im reading this I realise what hodgepodge I have gotten myself into by accepting internships from so many firms and still applying and following up with Saraf, Luthra and Trilegal)
You're not a watch collector, you're a clout chaser.
Tu bata naam.Fir mai batata hoon.
Does being horrified by two things inherently mean assigning them direct equivalency?
Can two things both be horrifying without being the same?
Can you hold deep empathy for two different sets of victims without that implying that you see them as being identical?
To me itβs the opposite: the horror and the empathy are the starting point for my thinking, the baseline knowledge from which imo any serious conversation must embark.
I donβt claim to have arrived at the conclusion.
But I know this: anyone encouraging you to suppress your inner voice of compassion and empathy β to not know what your bones are telling you β should be regarded with great and justified suspicion.
Also Mahua recently tweeted that she was enjoying Pujo in Nadia (her constituency). Anybody know if she's taken Henry also with her?
NLS MPP is fairly good in India, I know someone who graduated from there and enjoyed it (he is working at one of the consultancy firms above that I mentioned).
Let's wait some more
if anyone tells you to have a life, enjoy the roses etc. - you're wasting time, why aren't you working? how can you spare 3 mins just like that? work is all there is. You can go mountain climbing when you're 50, as you should. Then if your glaring black hole of a life wants you to jump, that's that.
are firms particularly against associated dating?

Trollish means, when a post tends to mislead with false information. This data is absolutely true. Can you fking wait for other RML students to verify/ deny this before you make your little judgement?
Nothing significant so far - hoping for things to turn around.
1. Entire L&L group were given the target of 2x of the team cost. (whereas others in DSK have the targets of 3x annually)
2. All the other partners (except LL) when they joined DSK were given the target of 3x, which is the industry standard. (referring to Dua and HSA partners)
3. HC and SS were given equity in DSK.
4. HC and SS agreed to put in their money if the target is not met for entire LL group.
5. In march everyone was asked to pull up there sleeves as it was year end.
6. In May the target was reduced to 1.5x and 1 month extra was given.
7. Many partners failed (only in LL group)
8. Less than 2 cr was short from the 1.5x target.
9. HC and SS refused to pay up.
10. Heard that one of them bought a property of 50 cr earlier this year.
11. LL group salaries were stopped. Everyone was requested to complete targets first. (later everyone got each penny of their salaries)
12. LL group was sad as HC and SS didnt pay up.
13. HC and SS was also not willing to discuss the same with AD. LL partners kept on waiting that they will talk to AD but they didnt.
14. One partner left and started his own IPR practice. AD talked to him asking to stay but he refused.
15. Financial year ended and equity money got distributed.
16. 2 months later HC and SS resigned and started their own firm along with 3 other partners.
17. Others partners who were left with DSK are getting on their feet and are being well supported by AD with international clients.
