1. Be kind, respectful and helpful to each other.
2. Be bona fide, truthful, genuine and curious.

May I ask what your definition or description of a t1 is?
People use these phrases without first understanding what it means
This is why all new lawyers are so bad, at best paper pushers
What is the marriage market value of young lawyers who are 1st gen considering they are earning decent or are settling themselves up😊? Please give serious reply as I am afraid I won't find a bride for myself 😭
insanity in my opinion
I have close to three year in litigation , but now hating it. I have paused it. I am non nlu person. And no internships. I belong to smaller place with almost zero exposure. I am trying to get into a corporate law firm
So, If you are willing to help and guide a bit, pls mail me -- seriouspen@mail.com

2. CLAT Coaching- Join somewhere or start ya own
3. Etsy business- online business
4. Trading- Subject to market risks
5. PPOs at some firms have offer bonuses
And in answer to OP’s question, I have the following advice:
1. Lower your expectations and join a small firm or sole practitioner. Then work your way up towards a better job at a better organisation. If nothing happens after 2-3 years, consider an MBA or try for the judicial service exam.
2. Not targeted at you personally, but let this be a lesson to your generation not to take things for granted. The days of guaranteed jobs at CAM with no hard work and grade inflation by mediocre professors are over. Also, your generation should campaign for improvement of the college, instead of empty woke causes.
Actually, I am very much inclined towards the English language and for the same reason, I even did my undergraduate degree in English Honours. I keep on learning about new things daily.
I am currently getting offers from new law firms (T3/4) as those are the only ones actively recruiting.
Q1. Shall I join a new law firm/T-3? Will that affect my career trajectory? My cv is IP, TMT & Cyber law driven with atleast 4 internships in T1 & T2 law firms.
I have recently quit a T1/T2 IP litigation firm after 2 months PQE & rejected a PPO from a T1 Indirect Tax in my 4th year due to my interest in IP. Q2. Was that a mistake?
Q3. No IP firms came to our T2 college, I'd be grateful if anyone could reflect on how exactly do T1/2 IP firms hire? Campus recruitment or PPOs / referrals?
Kindly advise & Thank you for your time!
I am an incoming associate at Trilegal. I have a mandatory online internship before joining. Wanted to know if they will pay any stipend to incoming associates? If yes, how much?
Also, what other things should I keep in mind before joining? Any input would be really helpful. Thank you!
We have had MPP students on this campus for a very long time and the BALLB students never had a problem with them but LLB students are kind of unbearable.
From running L&L Lit like feudal lords and not allowing anyone else to grow to ensure they all leave (to become stars in other firms) to calling out RKL when he called their bluff to rallying a large number in L&L Lit folks on false promises to leave L&L to attempt to break it up to failing in breaking L&L Lit to joining DSK to being ridiculed by AD for lying to him to being thrown out of DSK to starting their own shop on the pretext of doing all remaining L&L partners at DSK a favour to trying to come back to L&L. Quite a journey.
Irrespective, I feel bad for all the L&L partners and associates who believed them to leave L&L to join DSK not knowing their true personal vendetta, to now being stranded at DSK or having to even leave DSK.
Lesson learned, never believe someone when he says he is only doing it for you, mera kya hai, fakir hoo, jhola utha ke chal doonga
Maybe you were just not good enough?
Just keep moving forward and upwards and take risks when you can.
Efforts must be made to create a community or network of people.
There are plenty of people who are married/with kids who feel lonely too.
By the time you reach old age there is no guarantee that your kids will be looking after you or that your partner will be around. Trying to say one is better than the other is pointless. You can be happy potentially if youre single or with family. It takes effort in both cases.
Try not to create large space for negativity. This talk of mercy killing is just unnecessary as I forsee things will be improved in the future. If it is still something in your mind, just consider Dignitas and go on a final Swiss holiday. Most likely you won't.
I have currently gotten health insurance and barely use it, so getting no claims bonuses right now. Will continue renewing it, because procuring similar insurance later in life would be expensive.
1. Modi will lose and I.N.D.I.A will win
2. Rahul Gandhi will be PM.
3. Adani and Reliance stocks will tank.
So, my tip is to invest in companies close to the Congress and opposition parties, such as Hiranandani and JSPL(Naveen Jindal). Plus also companies doing business in Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Telangana, as the I.N.D.I.A will favour them in the same way that the BJP favoured Gujarat-based companies.
What work does ameya's team do?
Law firms only care if the work is done.
Just apply.
If others haven't done it, be the first.
You don't need permission of people here. Just rock the GMAT and apply guns blazing.
The only people they're enriching are Murthy himself!

How about not letting every tom, dick and harry apply for LLM. I believe they should keep the one year for those who want it for their CV. Teaching should only allow 2years LLM. Serious candidates will go for 2 years. And then the Universities should support the 2years into PhD or TA. Need to separate the wheat from chaff and support the ones who came only for academia.
The fight should be about creating a society where everyone respects everyone rather than indulging in hate mongering.
Second, in terms of work, you will be hands on board, running from post to pillar depending on your work. If it's criminal, then it's more exhausting or exciting, to visit police station, court, client, scene of incident etc. In civil, more like walking from chamber to court. It's more "happening" than sitting in a cubicle for life.
Moreover, you've got what everyone needs. A mentor, a financial support, a foot in the door by being a 2nd gen advocate. You just need to learn the trade.
I loved litigation, much better than sitting at my desk from sunrise to sunset. However I'm a first gen and in the end I needed the money. And only reason I went back is cause of financial reason and an independent practice that I knew needed years more.
You're in the best position. Practice in corporate to get a feel and make money. When you're bored of it all, come back to court and practice litigation.
The only reason people don't take up litigation is money. Otherwise great place to be in.

I am sorry to say that LI, over the many years of its existence, has played a major role in the glamorisation of law firm careers. Many years ago, Kian compiled a law school ranking where a CAM/SAM etc job gave a law school a certain number of points, but a job with an NGO or lawyer's chamber gave less points, while an LLM admit (even if with scholarship) or a UPSC rank gave zero points. This contributed to a toxic culture in law schools where students only pursued law firm jobs and money. In some law schools, this also led to tolerance of mediocre profs who awarded generous grades. Even now, there is a ranking fight every single day on LI and most commenters say that a worth of a law school is to be judged solely by the number of tier 1 law firm placements. 😔
Yes, I did Crack CLAT and had a rank under 50. Something, which you won't be able to Crack given your legal reasoning.
This is the top NLoooo for the next decade.
There is some sense among students more recently ( since pandemic) that one shouldn’t be asked to work hard if one belongs to some “oppressed community” and that asking people to read for class and exams is perpetuating brahminism. There are also idiots on twitter who think their identity gives them Moral and intellectual authority when they write about caste/gender because “lived experience” but there are always idiots on twitter. on universities it is just silly students mimicking American student politics. And no one serious or important takes these arguments seriously.
There is a problem with group think and dogmatism and post modern nonsense in the academic left. Sometimes they earnestly believe things without questioning them because they bought into a whole set of beliefs together as an identity (so like trans/ Hamas support even when it harms other “oppressed groups” is pretty messy) but almost everyone you meet in person you can argue with and disagree with and be friends with. It’s not that bad.
I am trying to learn that now by reading a lot of things about the law. Let's see how things work out.
My interest in law came through some landmark cases that took place last year in the Supreme Court. It started with the Same-Sex Marriage Case, then the Abrogation of Article 370 Case, then the Electoral Bonds case, and lastly, Sec 6A of the Representation of People's Act case, where many senior advocates like Mr. Mukul Rohatgi, Miss. Menaka Guruswamy, Miss. Arundhati Katju, Mr. Kapil Sibal, Mr. Shyam Divan, and many other eminent jurists have argued before the SC. Also, from April 2023 onwards, I have been watching videos on Livelaw on various developments in the legal affairs of our country (Shows like Courts Today and Courts this week of Live Law) and also, and I have read a few things on the Livelaw website regularly. So, over the months, I got fascinated by law, and the more and more I explore and read, I get more fascinated by it. I feel law is a great tool for social transformation. So, I believe it's good to have as a tool.
Now, coming to my action plan of becoming a lawyer, firstly I am going to continue with my government job prep and get a job ASAP. After that, I will work on that job for 2-3 years and save as much as possible then join NLS for their 3-year law degree with the help of a loan. By that time, the program would have gained some traction, and would be easy for us to make our careers. Plus, my PSU Banking Job experience and some banking & finance certifications would help me get into corp law jobs in law school.
So, that's it. I hope to make it as I have planned.
Again, thank you so much.
Your message sounds trollish as you've clearly copy pasted from the messages used by their employees and pr team - 'mom and pop shops', 'back office', 'fly by night operators'
internship strategies/ planning, and wrong timings for my failure.
I am clueless as to what to do. I am damn sure that I want to go for a law firm job and I am even willing to intern till September/ October 2024 if I could make it to a decent firm (I mean any T2 or T3 firm which either pays well or is recognised). People have even recommendedme to take any random firm that I'm getting as beggars don't get to choose. But I feel it would take me ages to switch to a good firm if I join any random firm at the beginning of mu career.
Please suggest me what should be my course of action. My college has attendance issues so it would not be possible for me to do a long term internship till May. Suggest me where all should I apply.
The rest, let's see after 10 odd years (not like Chatur) but where the Batch of '25 - LLB and BALLB will be. Adios till then. Keep writing bogus pieces and whining about everything under the sun about the 3 year program till then over here :*
