I have never seen such deliberate misconstruction in my life. For your information, I don't the Taliban should be allowed anywhere near power in any country. Also, there have been far more instances of Hindus linching Muslims than the other way around. Why don't you go to Modi and ask him to condemn those?
As for "[eating] cake" etc., I, unlike you, wouldn't do working class people in Britain or anywhere the injustice of pretending to speak for them. What I can tell you is that I, unlike you, don't take working class British people for fools, because they aren't.
Yet Nita Bhabhi and Modiji are still pushing for billions to be spent hosting the 2036 Olympics. 😂😂😂

Everyone may not desire the same things that you do. And even if you want to advise someone to commit to the firm life, you can perhaps consider not being so vitriolic about it.
Living in Mumbai is a struggle, from day 1 - finding apartments, being on a budget, and managing work (internship) and college expectations together will be very stressful and challenging.
While Pune is a much student friendly city, ILS has a decent campus, and it is as reputed an institute as GLC (if not more). ILS is surrounded by colleges like FTII, Gokhale, Symbi, Fergusson and Pune University. It offers a student-friendly atmosphere and lets you interact with a diverse crowd. It may allow you time to pursue your hobbies, hit the gym or play sports. Things like these are difficult to manage in Mumbai (especially as a student).
Pune may not have much to offer from a legal professional's perspective, but it hosts good tax lawyers, original side litigators (if you are well versed in Marathi), and a few law firms also have their offices in Pune. There are a few tax firms as well. Lectures at ILS mostly get over by 11:00 am, which allows students to intern on the side.
You will find a job sooner or later, but you will never get your college life back!

Preferably in the range of around 5 lakhs.
As legally India is website for lawyers please guide me whether I should continue here or change to other Universities mentioned above. I might get some scholarship in Bennett as they are still offering. Is it a good college? Other option is Amity and Lyod although I don’t know if they are still offering some scholarship.
I have heard that AZB pays less in Bangalore, if anyone knows the exact amount please do share. Also what's the scene at Trilegal, CAM and Khaitan?
Thanks!!!
Thanks
Soon 500+ students jindal like huge batches will start coming in where nobody gets a job. It will be fun.

Plus the money saved!! You should opt for GLC blindly.
This generation is not put in a delusional hypnosis that "work hard, sacrifice everything & it will pay well" mindset that millennials were taught. I am a millennial myself that founded a top tier firm, & someone that left the corporate life for litigation. With your 20 years experience, I'd say we're around the same age. Let me tell you that I stopped dreaming and woke up just like this generation has, and realised that being a corporate slave isn't worth it. Despite being a founder, the top honcho, I still was working 16 hours just to "please" clients, that didn't give a crap about my health as long as I did the job. So stop spewing this weak mentality garbage.
Moreover, the kids have realised that law firm doesn't even pay half of what MBAs or Tech does. So any kid reading this, don't pull up with this BS, your mental health is more important than being in a constant abusive work culture. Also, 20 years in litigation will pay you much better than 20 years in firms, with added benefits of spending time with the fam. Knucklehead like above will justify their position cause they're too scared to admit that they're nothing more than a paper pushing corporate slave. When in reality, in today's day & age you can easily earn as well as life comfortably without destroying your own health and environment.
The finals for Imane and the Taiwanese boxer take place this weekend. Both are favourites to win gold.

I am very much confused about going to law firms or going to corporate.
Practise area doesn't bothers me.
I just want to settle and get the job.
I am confused that whether I should do 1-1 month law firm internships or should do long term corporate internship.
I am worried that law firms will not given extensions and it highly depends on vacancies as well. On the other hand I want a good package also.
What should I do?
Law firm any day?
Or long term corporate internship?
Answers from the experienced ones are highly appreciated.
Any info on the corp practices of both the offices would be much appreciated.
Yours eternally grateful,
Jobless Jolene
final PPO count - 40+ offers
Day zero - 20+ offers
and results awaiting for many....safe to say a good day zero in the very least.
And who are these 'We lawyers' who don't consider tax as legal practice in true sense? Speak for yourself. Your generosity in sharing your dumb mindedness is commendable, but unwelcome.
A good amount of noted lawyers of the country started as tax lawyers. (Kanga, Palkhivala, Sorabjee, Salve etc.)
Do you also not consider company law to be a pure law as CS practice the same?
1. Do deadlines negatively impact creativity?
2. Third Party funding in litigation: Boon or Bane?
These were fairly general and open ended in nature, I'd suggest staying abreast of legal developments and hot topics in legal news, even if they're not specific to the field you're looking to join. All the best!
For Indus, send mails to the HR person who serves as POC for your college's committee. Otherwise just find recent alumni from college who work there and shoot them messages for internships. One of them will end up being kind enough to forward your mail or atleast permit you to CC them on a mail — either of them will increase your chances. For Argus, again, your college would have an assigned POC HR, figure it out and drop mails.
All of that said and done, if you have a good CV and are from the top 3 colleges, you could definitely aim higher and get a spot at a better & higher paying firm.
Karthik Sundaram is also APD Junior, he was partner at ELP prior to practise
Beautiful book. Lucid. Comprehensive. Easily available.
Also, how exactly are juniors going to get clients, especially when they don't have adequate opportunities to argue in courts? Who's going to give them briefs? Are clients going to manifest out of thin air?
Obviously, GLC for brand name.If that doesn't work out for some reason, New Law> KC> PGCL> Advani
Only ranking PGCL above Advani coz the former's considered a decent* MU College for 5 year course
* as decent as you can be under MU's control.
Do check attendance policy, though. SVKM managed colleges are known to have a tough attendance requirement.
2. If I am not able to manage stress etc. in law firm as an A0, what is the minimum time period I should spend to get into in-house counsel practice? I guess few months would be like 'this guy is useless'. Atleast one year?
3. If I am able to survive law firm pressure in the initial years but then want to spend more time with family and kids etc. then what is the ideal time/PQE to switch? Five years?
There are a minority of far-right who hate everything including Indians, but I have come across more hate against Indians from Muslims and the left-wing, than I have from the far-right. It's only on highly moderated social media where racism against Indians is amplified.
There are a few racists in the far-right but most of them aren't hateful towards Indians and Sri Lankans. It's just like any protest or riot, you can't stereotype the entire group of people. But there have been a number of South Asians who have attended these far-right protests in the UK.
A bigger issue is that anti-immigration sentiment is much higher and you might have problems integrating into British society. Generally immigrants have been complaining about declining living standards and rising crime, a lot of which is to blame on Muslims (Bangladeshis, Pakistanis and North Africans generally). I have heard from a lot of immigrants from both South Asian and other backgrounds that the quality-of-life is not worth the effort, and that all the racism currently (from both right wing and left wing) is causing many to return back - the former first minister of Scotland is reportedly planning to leave Europe due to fears of rising Islamophobia.
but if you cant find another job, then sure get your foot in
then in cv tweak your experience in next job
But Touchstone hardly hires like 2-4 freshers.. what's the point? it's good for nothing.
P.S please avoid the Gobi and Pappu, commie and bhakt analogies here. Let's have a healthy discussion.
I can give you a longish answer as such- but the general.theme is all law firm work is 'boring' when viewed through the lens of these jokers.
Happy to expand and tell you the upsides if you want, but the subgkr biggest upside is this id the closest you'll get to commercials, compared to any other practise area. What that also means is if you have longer term in house ambitions- this works best.
Companies don't do M&A for a living (except a few fund houses), nor do they keep listing themselves time and again (one IPO on 10-15 years) nor do they keep litigation for the F of it. Let me know if you know further deets.
How about they go the usual way of getting trained on real transactions and then get A1.
What's the scene at kco?
- a concerned t3 girl
God save you guys
If you would look at the RSS, BJP, and VHP and their politics and call the destruction of babri masjid or the gujarat riots a hindu problem you should consistently call what is happening in the UK a muslim problem.
Those in denial have trolled me on LI, but you can’t deny facts: Rhodes, placements, funding etc.
