Meanwhile, NLU kids can't even get Chandrachud to visit their campus 🤣🤣🤣
On a more serious note, this protest is being hijacked by thugs rather than students. Bangladesh is descending into anarchy, looting and lynching of Hindus and other minorities. One can draw parallels with what happened in Iran many years ago. The CIA and US Deep State didn't like their pro-Soviet President, so they staged a coup in the name of "democracy" and installed a puppet pro-American Shah. Eventually, that puppet Shah was overthrown by a coalition of communists and Islamists. Then the Islamists imprisoned the communists and made Iran into the repressive theocracy that it currently is. Similarly, the US funded and armed the Taliban to oust the pro-Soviet regime and the rest is history.
Mark my words: The CIA will f up Bangladesh big time. Their man Yunus won't last more than a year. The Jamaat will take over Bangladesh. They will imprison the secular, progressive student protestors and then breed anti-American jihadis.
Current status: 5 years and 4 months have passed since the filing of the case. 15 hearings have taken place. We are still at the stage of filing submissions and counter-submissions.
I don't want to name the profs that are absolute shit. At least 1 prof that you have mentioned is hated by the majority of the students as well.
This is 25 people. I must be missing 3-4 people with 20+ LPA so yeah. Median of 20LPA is not unrealistic.
Commiserations to students of other NLUs having a meltdown 😿
P.S. No one at Law School calls Sudhir “Messiah”. That’s a dead giveaway that you are NOT from there.
No reply.
RGNUL's placement stats are a mystery, but students seem to be doing well too as per their placement cell's linkedin. They are also chuffed about their campus and infra.
Choosing a college where you are going to stay for 5 years is not just a career decision, it's a life decision. Don't go by metrics that other people push
My talk was meant for the class 10/11/12 students, but these kids had some last-minute issue so instead I spoke with class 8/9 students — proper Gen Alpha! 🥲
Here are the questions I was asked:
1. “ How many NLU grads get 1 cr packages?” (I had to burst their bubble)
2. “What percentage of NLU grads get jobs in New York and London?” (also had to burst their bubble)
3. “I want to study at Harvard Law School. What’s the process?” (explained JD versus LLM)
4. “How do NLUs support decolonisation”? (I asked the student if she knew what the word means and she said it means “like supporting freedom for Palestine and Ukraine and all”— so I just gave a bland answer about international law student societies and journals)
5. “How do NLUs support queer and pansexual students?” (I didn’t know what “pansexual” means, so I gave a generic answer that all sexualities are welcomed and supported).
6. “Can a NLU grad practice law in Korea?” (I asked her why she was interested in Korea: she said she liked KDramas on law and wanted to live and work in Korea)
😊😊😊😊
I am graduating from a T1-NLU next year. I have been offered the following options - Trilegal (Projects), CAM (M&A) and AZB. CAM/AZB are Bombay, and Trilegal said they could be flexible with location (I'm from a non-metro city). I want to do an LLM in 2-3 years (US ideally). Which of these would be ideal to accept? My parents are upper-middle class, so I won't be asking them to subsidise my lifestyle anymore.
Some of those NLU alum you mention are terrible. 0 experience, we've got situations where you have an extremely experienced prof who teaches one section, and a professor who graduated 2 years ago teaching another section. The disparities are too big to simply say different teaching methods.
I don't think you understand why students are unhappy if you think it is about grade inflation. That may be a concern for a few students, but generalising the entire student body's concerns to something that is indefensible. Harping the same lines over and over does not justify the nonsense he pulls on a regular basis
Do you need burnol?
The point is to show cohesion and strength as the student body, which is unprecedented. So far, student body was very disorganised and most people simply accepted that the college was the way it was. If not for anything, we know for a fact that the Messiah cares about his image and it wouldn't reflect well if something unprecedented like this were to happen. (He is particularly sensitive to stuff like this).
Outsiders now know that the student body is incredibly unhappy with him, but if he ignores this for too long, well, it is only a matter of time before someone answers the questions asking why exactly the student body is unhappy. Most of our reasons are mundane, yes, but show how he is unreasonable. But some of it is sensitive, and personal to some students, and shows how the admin stoops very low sometimes. None of it will paint him in a positive light for sure.
FACTS:
- When you try to reach an unnatural body weight by starving and dehydrating yourself, your body will naturally resist and try to reach your normal weight.
- Phogat just barely managed to reach her qualifying weight before the weigh in in the semis. Nikhil Naz (India Today reporter) said that she specifically told him after the fight that she was worried about her weight and she looked worried—so this was clearly a concern at the outset.
- Phogat LOST the qualifier for her normal weight category and arm twisted her way into this category
Wrestlers are not gods and one our star medalists is in prison for murder. Just compare the attitude of the entire wrestling gang with the humility and sweetness of Manu Bhaker.
If inimical, then it is serious. But Mr Dehadrai seems to be keeping its cards close to his chest.
Context:
For anything and everything, student reps have been tossed from one office to another. For example, even for getting one day's extension because there was a wifi blackout on campus, student reps had to first go to the IT dept, Academic Admin Dept, UG Chair, Programme Chair, Director of Campus and Residential Life, Registrar, and ultimately the request was turned down.
Similarly, people in charge do not have any power at all, the Supreme Leader can cancel arbitrarily. For example, Saurabh Bhattacharya (UG Chair) promised to get classes that are clashing with day Z rescheduled to next week for the current 5th year and 3rd year of 3-year LLB. However, he could not do it because Sudhir did not agree.
We propose that every office should have proper jurisdiction and should have real power, they should not have to consult the VC before allowing a student to go to the washroom. Only in exceptional circumstances should the VC step in and not for regular internal events. Or, if he can't delegate power then he should meet student reps. Presently, you need to beg for a month for getting a single meeting with him. Basically, if you go to the DCRL/UG Chair for a problem, they will most certainly say that they will have to consult the VC. This should not happen and if it has to happen then the one having the problem should be allowed to meet him in person and discuss the problems.
This is just one of the demands. I provided the context for better understanding.
100G. is nothing, and that too after winning it became an issue.
First put yourself in her situation, where after facing so much cruelty by this brain dead govt. ( check Delhi HC judgment on Brijbhushan), and the pressure a female wrestler go through after this much criticism where she herself is not at fault.
Moreover, this was her last match, and making getting only 60kg for a female body at this age is not easy. Are you serious 100G????
Itna to kapdo me hota hoga.
B) even if we go by clat ranks, there is a minimal difference as the folks belonging to Rajasthan/extreme northern parts only opt for Nluj. In fact, last year, couple of people opted for nliu from Nluj and let’s not even talk about merit lists, cause both the colleges even have people ranking 170-180ish, so the difference is negligible. And no one really cares about ABS that much, cause it’s anyway pretty unpredictable, so for people staying up north. Nluj will at least give them homely comfort.
3. My point still stands, if any college comes close in terms of rigour to NLS, it’s nliu. Nluj folks get grade inflation plus there are no midterms.
As of now 77 kids have sat for placements. NLS is planning to expand to 500 kids. As bad as jindal law school.
Let's see how placement goes after 5 years because of this massive batch size. NLS being an elite law school - that phase has gone. It's the jindal of NLU's.
Before Sudhir, the batch was of 80 students and there were less number of good faculties. Now the batch size has increased 6-7times while the number of good faculties have increased by 2-3times. You can mention 10 good faculties against 2 earlier but the number of students who have access to good faculties has reduced! For example, earlier, a student getting in NLS was sure that they will get Somu for Economics, Rahul Singh for Corp I and II, Sarasu for Fam Law I and II. Now, some people will never get the chance to sit in their class for a single hour. Most of the hirings are young foreign LLM grads with no teaching experience. For one SidChu, there are 10 new faculties who reads the ppt.
What has the money pouring in from private donors done?
Earlier, NLS used to fund moot and ADR competitions, today, forget about funding from the University, and students are not even allowed to reach out to alumni for sponsorship! How can a VC of a public University have the guts to say "I don't care if students drop out of moots for lack of money." How can someone say, "I don't care about your job" when a job is a way to economic independence and the ultimate goal for a lot of students coming off middle-class backgrounds? Can we not expect the VC to at least have a minimum bit of empathy?
The academic standard has actually reduced in his tenure, the passing criteria have become easier, and there is moderation that makes sure that your marks increase if a teacher has been strict. Look at the number of year losses during Venkat Rao's time and now. The only thing that he has done is strictly implement the attendance requirement and has shown zero empathy toward genuine student needs.
I can go on and on but let's stop here.
It will get even better in future, once foreign law firms enter.
Question is: what happens now? Defamation suit?

- He has done a brilliant job in weeding out mediocre TLC faculty and hiring NLU alumni with good qualifications, even getting people to leave Jindal despite offering them half the salary. In his faculty hiring, he has not shown regional nepotism and hired only people from the South, which previous VCs were guilty of
-He is getting funding from private donors and alumni
- He has revamped the website and improved PR through social media: this is important in today’s day and age
- QS rankings
- He is not corrupt
Remove him and you go back to the old cabal of TLC VCs.
The fact is that many of the students are unhappy because Sudhir has stopped grade inflation and is imposing high standards in academics.
The RCC also acknowledges the guidance and support from Professor Rahul Singh of NLSIU.
The RCC is a student-run body responsible for securing internships, facilitating placements, and organising the placement drive for students at the National Law School of India University, Bangalore (NLSIU). The 5-year B.A., LL.B. (Hons.) is the flagship course of India's top-ranked law school - NLSIU, Bengaluru - with a prolific history of producing industry-leading alumni.
Thought?
More than 130 student reps resigned. Mind you, most of them are elected and can probably bring in a few more people with them in case things escalate.
Revolution 2024!
So, ultimately, Messiah doesn't give 2 hoota about mortal.plane.
Meraki Legal

The Fort Circle
Regstreet
Seems like a proper protest is incoming since both the Presidents have also resigned
Clearly, for you proof-reading is "just basic reading of the document", but that is not what proof-reading is.
Check your entitlement and focus on learning.
Best in terms of culture - Arjun Ghosh
I'm an academic myself- but honestly the elitism and self absorption is too much. Ive won awards and fellowships and I have the humility to consider that my batchmate who got a bank job or a firm job might not really be inferior to me because they decided on a different path in life.
If you want to be respected for your opinions- have mine instead isnt a very good way to convince people. Try being more open minded. You dont get anywhere by calling people judgmental or by shaming them for not buying whatever it is youre selling.
Any tip would be much appreciated. Thanks!
Also, is the Bangalore office also toxic or is it just the Mumbai office?
2) Arjun Ghose- GC
3) Kosturi Ghosh- GC
4)Vivek Bajaj- M&A/ PE/VC
These are the few I know and I am sure I can't be wrong here (lol).
Hope this helps!
