If you've read your history and political science well, you'd understand what & where left-right come from, if you haven't then I'd request you to do so in the initial years of your 5 year course, since law is and has always been a subject based on the humanities. The trend of b.com, BBA etc have started just in the last decade. Which is only to push you towards a corporate lifestyle, where work is only about money, and not about change in society.
In very simple terms, the right stands for the existing structures of power and tradition, the left stands for change and challenging the existing structures. Law by nature changes with the society, for better or for worse. Therefore it can never stand with the existing structures, since the constant change in society will bring about a constant change in structures. However, people in power rarely welcome the change. The primary reason being if change happens their power will diminish or be taken away from them. Therefore the right will always resist the change. The left will always support it.
Coming back to law. Study legal history both in global north and India. Since majority of law evolves from the Global north. India, since we live here. You will notice a pattern. Majority of people involved in revolutions and struggles have always been directly and indirectly associated with law. Why ? Since they understand the legal loopholes of society and try and change what's missing. Now I understand why you would feel like there is an attack on a particular community, because the truth is when it comes to India, majority of the people are still or have once been heavily affected by caste. So even if you hate looking at your own ideology, you will have to be unbiased and see the struggles and challenges of the caste system. Why ? Since every structure of the society has been built and affected by it. The most prominent example I can tell you is the recent creamy layer judgement on sc & st. Without an understanding of caste you will not be able to understand the nuances of the problem. This is something that a bcom and BBA student will not be able to understand despite studying constitutional law and human rights. Since their historical understanding is nil.
Now, coming to the question of what is the purpose of studying all this ? Unfortunately, this is the mentality of everyone nowadays. People want a degree to get a job to earn money. That's it. However that's not education, that's a piece of paper. That maybe knowledge, but it's not wisdom. The purpose of studying social science is the understanding of society in general, and looking at the drawback and improving the living condition. If not privileged people like you & me, then who ? Honestly, if you wanted money, you should have joined a BBA+MBA or a btech, since these provide more income and less social issues. In the end , law was never about working in law firms and pushing papers. Law has and always will be about being the third pillar of the society that keeps the legislative and executive bodies in check with the progress of society.
If you feel this is too much. I would suggest you pursue an MBA after law or join a law firm later on and pursue electives based on corporate subjects. However if you're really interested in being a social scientist, a game changer, a privilege wise human and a beacon of hope for the downtrodden, use this wonderful opportunity to learn about the sufferings of others and use justice for the oppressed. If not, you are welcome to join the oppressors and watch the society, environment and the world burn while sitting on a stack of billions. Your choice.
Now you
Coming to a genuine opinion, there is literally zero to no difference between nliu and nluj.
1. Ask any of your batchmates for notes and try to complete one subject/weekend. Since classes are going online, I don't think it'll be much of an issue.
2. Mail professors and ask them how you should cover the backlog (honestly, this is just to let them indirectly know that you joined late and might require some extension for completing upcoming assignments).

You are much better off looking at these verified sources of information than exposing yourself to the chance of potentially being mislead by trolls. The fact that you didn't/couldn't find/figure this out yourself should concern you far more, however. Spoonfeeding won't work forever.
Also think about public policy.
I genuinely feel wlb takes a toss with a law firm life and there are several careers which pay more than law firms and have better wlb.
I do condemn the lynching of muslims. Why would you assume I dont? I condemn it because it is religious fundamentalism the same way I condemn little girls being forced to marry much older men at the age of 9.
I'm not speaking for working class people- im listening to them. You will only listen to them if they agree with what you say and dismiss them as fools if they dont agree with you.
Here is what I found by looking up hindu in google news.

Do note: My position is not that these authors or news papers have done anything wrong. When Religion and orthodox religious groups do things that are terrible because of their religion- we dont actually do anything good by ignoring the religious motivations.
The "Far Right" as you could call them are harmful because they are orthodox hindus who want to hurt people because of their religious beliefs. That includes within their fold the far right in places like afghanistan and iran and iraq and algeria - in the muslim world. People who roam around the streets with swords in their hands looking for members of another group to attack and do so because their religion teaches them that apostates and non believers are less human are dangerous because of their religious beliefs.
Most indian muslims dont do that - not because islam is some religion of peace- no religion is a religion of peace. But because they are indians and they chose to live in a secular country when they or their ancestors had the choice. Some orthodox Indian muslims behave the way their religion commands. The KKK and westboro baptist church and people who bomb abortion clinics do so because of their christian religion. They are religious fundamentalists.
When you dont apply the same standard to islam because you think the world is divided by racial or by east/west power relations- you stand in the way of islamic reform and you stand in the way of more moderate and rational and progressive muslims from being able to lead their community out of this dark middle age thinking. You encourage the orthodoxy by claiming that religion has nothing to do with the actions motivated by that religion.
For students: Partners rarely miss emails. Once you join a law firm set up, you will also rarely miss one. Therefore, if a partner has not responded to you, it's not because s/he missed your email, but because s/he is not interested. So, send an email once, and then stop. If you are really not satisfied with that - may be do up to two follow ups, with at least 10 days between each follow up. Anything else will likely only annoy the partner.
Another thing, please stop parallelly reaching out to multiple partners or senior resources. I have seen tons of kids do this. If you send me a CV, and when I forward that to the HR, they inform me that the HR already got this forwarded by another partner / resource, this looks bad on me. Frankly, this is the main reason I have stopped responding to emails from kids. I used to forward emails to HR previously to give kids a chance, but I don't want to do charity if that makes me look bad.
If you really want partners to help you, build a connection with them through previous internships / interactions / LinkedIn. However, while trying to build a relationship, do not have the veiled agenda of securing an internship. Such masquerading is easily visible and is disgusting.
In the last year, I have only helped kids who reached out to me genuinely for general career guidance.
and RGNUL has AC rooms I guess because its too hot in summer , so NLUO would have moderate temperature?
As a North Indian will it be okay to go there?
8+0.9 = 8.9
Is it something to worry about in the overall scheme of the more specifically if I plan to switch in a year or so?
Placement wise 2025 batch is doing good, comparable to 2024 batch.
Faculty, admin, placements, moot, co-curricular everything is better at NLUO. Maybe Infra is a bit better at RGNUL.
and I think we won't even get clear picture because that state quota batch will be graduating in 2025.
are you from NLUO?
Even if you do end up working till 12-1, you can come to office my 11am. 6-7 is impossible I've never seen or heard of anyone being in office that early/late

From Wikipedia, I can see that the age of consent in India is 18, while in the US, Europe, South America and Australia it is between 14 and 16, depending from jurisdiction to jurisdiction. But is there any international law on this? The UN Convention on the Rights of the Child says anon under 18 is a child, so technically any country having an age of consent below 18 is breaking international law?
People are getting grossed out on the Iraqi proposal, but even 14 seems too young.
Run while you can.
