The Volvo bus had crashed in a truck and toppled.
This tragedy could have been averted if the examination department and the COE would have postponed the Continuous Assesment of Junior Batches in light of the impending holi holiday and ZELUS.
They refused to budge, which resulted in the junior batches having to rush back to college to write their test after the fest forcing them to get on that night bus in the first place.
The university is also suppressing the matter by asking batch group admins to delete messages about this tragedy and have also refused to send a mail for the memorial which is taking place today.
or do you not care to actually find out because youre so high on the feeling of being a good person who cares so much about the poors?
Any tea?
also just finished filing objections - Any idea how liberal they are with awarding marks for ambiguous questions?
Join, get experience of 1 year and switch within the firm (Atul, Veena or if newly promoted partners - parvathy or maggon have a team of their own at the first place/any vacancy) or leave. Parvathy and Maggon both of them are really good to work with, sweet peeps as PAs. Trilegal emp law practice is stellar.
▮▮▮ Join. Don't loose the opportunity. Negotiate for an A0 role instead of being a trainee associate.
Also any idea about the timeline of results and interviews?

Previous generation were did not know how less they were earning compared to their peers in West. AC in home was considered a luxury(a want) and not a necessity(a need) as it is today. As for sexual repression, my opinion maybe unpopular but they did not have much sexual feelings compared to Westernized generation today.
which other law firms in Bangalore are good for TMT practice? Please suggest..
Also, please do not suggest big names like D. Vaish.
I would strongly recommend against it, if you have PQE go for an Associate role in any other firm. The amount of work vis a vis compensation (6 LPA) is severely underpaid. Please think it through, you'll have multiple options.
Students were coming back to NLUJ from RGNUL's sports fest. The bus collided with a truck and overturned.
Between managing professional commitments (i.e. matters, client retention and business development) and personal life a vast majority of partners (paid and equity) don’t really have the time or inclination to “expect” anything other than good work product from their teams. The same holds true for principal associates and to an extent senior associates.
It almost appears that you have a rather self inflated sense of self worth i.e. you feel that professionals at work have a lot of time to spare to track your lifestyle and dictate the choices that you must make. From your post, it is rather clear that you are rather dismissive about what you perceive to be lifestyles your colleagues may have. When pointing fingers, remember that three point back at you.
My sincere advice to you, focus on the work and not judging others.
The team shares a unique camaraderie, and the selfless mentorship provided by NDA is quite rare to find. That helps, and helps tremendously in unleashing your true potential + client facing opportunities for which you might have to wait for long years in other firms.
Having said that, it would be unwise to join NDA solely for financial gain. If money is your primary motivation, other firms might be a better fit. Each one to his own.
Lastly, there is no need to worry about the firm’s stability and revenues. It’s making good money - better than outsiders can imagine. It has a brand, and if you are smart, you can become a brand too. The firm supports this. If you just want to execute, get paid and go home - not the right place for you. If you are entrepreneurial, then this is the right place to hone your skills.
Btw, those who have left NDA, especially senior leadership folks, seldom speak negatively of the firm and thank the firm for shaping them. You won’t hear that of other firms. So there might be merit in joining, but only if your goals are beyond money.
Just wanted to clear the air! Decide intelligently.
Best of luck!
In other words, I would probably have been better off if I had put the whole amount in an FD.
I presume many of you are in the same boat. How has it affected your life and how are you coping? Are you putting off major expenditures? Or just spending on luxuries as usual?
Many analysts are saying it will continue this way till 2030. The fact is that the Modi govt is in a state of paralysis and not enacting reforms that will encourage the markets. Only busy doling out freebies.

The proliferation (and brand dilution) of state NLUs continue unabated.

Lot of it involve having a strong mindset. Clients are even more demanding when they know that the lawyer is young/not part of a law firm/new law firm etc.
Try and cultivate contacts and relationships. You will come across that there is a lot of work which your law firm colleagues can pass on due to pricing issue, subject matter knowledge, low end but repetitive work etc. These contacts will be more than happy to refer you work without any expectation (some may have monetary or non-monetary expectations).
You need to be a generalist since you will have to answer to varied client quries, but try to have some strong domain knowledge to differentiate yourself from junta!
Pricing - This is where it gets even more interesting. While you will be under tremendous pressure to start taking up work, but do hold your prices. It will be extremely difficult for you to increase your prices on annual basis or otherwise. There will be various tempting offers such as if you got 100, someone says that they only offer 80, you will say no, but if someone says 97, you may accept. Thereby you have anyways lowered your charge out rates and have left an impression in client's mind that they can downward negotiate fees. This will be very delicate, but do work on this.
On other jurisdictions, you will have to cultivate contacts of freelancers and work with each other in a collaborative manner.
Naya Ghar, Nayi Job, Nayi Gadi, Nayi..... Badhiyan Hai Sharma Jee.
UPSI: Since Sharma Jee can not leave, so his close associates are leaving one by one and lastly Sharma Jee will join them.
It’s disgusting to cloak a lack of integrity in claims of being disadvantage. Poor people have just as much if not more integrity than rich people. And I’ve found that poor students at law schools are more driven and dedicated than their rich counterparts.
You ain't making all that
All firms (except trilegal) were at 16 lakhs until last year. The work they do is class apart

Joining an in house will be a prudent option- as your litigation background will be something which would be of use to them. You would also be getting decent work life balance as well. However, be at peace with the fact that the salary will not be upto the law firm standards.
Alternatively, you can consider joining litigation team in a Tier 1/Tier 2 firm- the pay will be higher than what you were getting into the chambers, and your lit experience will also count.
Long story short, each option is doable. You just have to bite the bullet for couple of years.
If you are lost and lonely - then it means you have driven yourself to a position of weakness.
So first drive yourself to a position of strength.
Strength is when people are dependent on you.
To create dependencies - you need to provide value.
If despite providing value, you still don't get those dependencies - congratulations, you are discovering you are grazing only at the baselines.
You will have to do this workplace negotiation yourself. You are right in being apprehensive that you may lose clients and high profile work - for which you are better off staying in the same office (until you get hired somewhere), and becoming senior enough first so that when you exit - you leave with a whole team. That is when big ticket clients will come along with you.
I had my time with therapists also, but yea therapy is just like a painkiller. You let some days pass without therapy, and then the pain comes back all over again. What is needed to kill the pain is actually taking some action on it.
I will shorten my elaborately long and delayed journey of self-inquiry by boiling it down to just one thing. Work on what you feel a lack of. That's the way to satisfaction and inner peace, joy and happiness.
What is it that you feel a lack of? From your OP, I get it you feel a lack of:
1. Not able to understand proposition (this is because of a lack of prior familiarity with the proposition or the elements constituting the proposition).
2. Inefficiency (this is because of a lack of prior work experience. Efficiency is a result of iteration and repetition).
3. Loser (this is because of a lack of Wins which is a compound effect of the first 2 lacks discussed above).
Now you just gotta work on your lacks. You can become an expert in any field of law in very slow 10 years. Law isn't vast enough to need more than 10 years (if you have chosen a narrow specialization). Rest of your life is just iterating on it and expanding your network. So, give it enough time. Give it enough repetition. Be slow with yourself. Time is on your side.

VC is a "front wo/man". VC will be whoever is perceived by the powers that be to be best suited to serve those "interests". When such candidates(s) have been identified the search committee will complete the ritual.
DD, JB or any others in the alphabet soup doesn't matter.
