Personally, I rarely see them in Del HC/SC. In all fairness, they've started out very recently. But by the same logic, it may be too early to call them a Tier 2 firm.
This Delhi system of giving salaries to juniors is absolutely bad. Made a mess of juniors. The learning curve is just 0 and nothing compared to what you'd be learning in Bombay or Calcutta where the pupilage system is followed and beggars don't come asking for salaries.

I think if you are the right fit for them, they will surely reply. Then again, you should follow up with another mail or call their office.
- Arguing in courts and tribunals
- Legal strategy and negotiations
- Handling complex Indian regulation like tax laws, which even those who make the laws can't understand.
- Attracting clients and doing networking
- Fixing and lobbying
- Going on strike and pelting stones to prevent legal reforms

These DSK videos disturb us because it's right on the nose but if there's a problem with non-compliance with BCI rules, then all material including these celebratory LinkedIn posts and instagram reels of practicing lawyers "educating" people equally qualify as ads/solicitation for work and should also be banned with a sweet SCN to each. I say so because you are not required to educate people, if someone does not hear you speak/read those very words you have to put, it's not like the sun won't rise again. It's basically unnecessary, conceited because the purpose to get your name out there and you tooting your own horn.
I am interested to see how it pans out for the DSK folks, I like some mirch-masala as the next guy but the issue has to be dealt with properly and holistically because the abuse, in my humble opinion, is rampant across the bar.
After all, law happens in courts and not in colleges.
"I cannot wait for other law firms to hire actors and make commercials, we so need this"
On a side note, I posted about this when the second ad dropped and mods initially published it but then unpublished it, so I'm glad there is some discourse on this apart from on LinkedIn
Reverse all of this for Mumbai and then decide
JRF/NET is an option, but not mandatory. Candidates without these can be taken with the Institute Scholarship. The scholarship or fellowship amounts are the same in both cases (i.e. those with institute scholarship and those with JRF/NET fellowship).

If you are not getting selected there, you should go to Delhi University or GLC Mumbai.
But the bigger question is what this means for Indian law students in the US. Quite a few Indian humanities and also law students have participated in such protests and posted online in favour of Palestine. What happens to them?
Also, what about NLU, Jindal etc students who posted in favour of Palestine on social media and are now applying for US visas?

Assuming every deal has multiple security providers and 3/4 existing lenders, itโs just Mind numbing work even if youโre working on transactions
impress professors so they could get LORs. They were ambitious and motivated and keen to grasp at the opportunity to attend a good university. Now students sit back in class look at their phones, donโt read and it seems are only there to judge you should you commit a wrong think or a faux pas. They behave like judges before theyโve learnt a line of law. And they might never learn it given how ubiquitous gptfraud is. The breakdown of the teacher student relationship turns teaching into a chore. And if I had to do a chore of a job why on earth would I or anyone else do it for so little pay as teaching affords ?

You donโt need to read a thesis to know what jihadist groups want just like you donโt need a thesis to know what the abortion clinic bombers or westboro Baptist church or the ku klux klan want. Those are the moral equivalents of jihadists. Can you imagine someone writing a queer theory crip theory radical empathy paper about the ku klux klan ? No. Because academia has no trouble with moral relativism when it comes to white terrorists but somehow things brown terrorists are all poor little woobies.
Iโm sure terrorists have friends they joke around with and share secrets with and women who find them desirable- unfortunately that doesnโt redeem them in the slightest. and I do not care about their lives because they do not care about the lives of people they harm.
You do understand ? These are not everyday Muslims. Sheโs specifically writing about people who describe themselves as belonging to jihadist groups.
This isnโt to say nls folks donโt write crazy stuff. Two articles in the last month about non binary. One that was titled โ the president is female you are female everyone is femaleโ itโs all utter nonsense. Thereโs a course being taught right now by someone has continuously terrible takes like the existence of sea horses proves human men can get pregnant. And theyโve invited that buffalo fellow in the past because he rose to fame bullying Savarna women who dumped his whiny incel ass.
NLS needs to seriously reconsider the kinds of electives itโs offering. And if they are rigorous enough. It seems like thereโs an informal quota system with At least 1-2 courses every term on gender, at least 1-2 courses on caste, 1 course or maybe two if youโre lucky on private law. To be fair there are always a couple of what seems like rigorous courses on constitutional law. But identity is not the only prism through which we can see the world. There are very few elective courses that deal with class , labour, technology, medicine, regulation etc and even few that would take an interdisciplinary / philosophical approach to studying categories like crime, evidence, corporation etc.
Do your students need courses every single term on queer theory ? Is that because your students donโt study or are stupid or because your teachers donโt know anything else or because ideological indoctrination requires repetition ?
And I donโt think it would be indoctrination if these courses were rigorous and seriously dealt with opposing view points. But just looking at how the courses are constructed - and who they are taught by- itโs clear that there are no big debates or questions expected. Only conformity. I would be surprised if these teachers could even articulate the opposing points of view with any fairness let alone actually counter them.
The law school once had a vibrant atmosphere where people disagreed with each other about everything and still were friends, where you expected verbal fisticuffs and drama in the classroom. Thatโs the environment that raised a Sudhir and an Arun and a Mrinal and a Chauhan. It would be a shame for that to go away because young faculty with ideological blindspots are being entrusted with too much responsibility.
How very feminist the left is!
Check this out. Participation in essay competitions like this always good for a student.
By the way, and please respond only if you are comfortable, why does NLSIU select so few in its PhD programme while leaving more than half of its advertised vacancies unfilled? Last year alone, they only took 1 our of 4 vacancies in law and 2 out of 3 vacancies in the interdisciplinary stream? Is this normal? Or is there a crisis somewhere?
Even if we successfully secede, what would be the language of the new union? Tamil? Telugu? Kannada? If at all, we manage to secede, all south Indian states would form separate countries (proper balkanization), because we have nothing else in common than "race," which nobody cares about.
Kannadigas, Malyalis, and Telugu would worry more about Tamil imposition and superiority in this hypothetical new Dravidian state than we worry about Hindi imposition.
Also, if separate countries are formed, we all will fight each other to death for water and disputed border territories.
A separate southern states union is not desirable nor ever possible.
What are the few things that I need to keep in mind in order to present myself seriously? I am really looking forward to this.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
So, I cannot help but wonder - how common is it for firms to fire an associate during the probation period? Should I be looking elsewhere? Should I get ahead and quit?
Also it's very difficult for non nlu student to get through it.
They mostly prefer nlu or Jindal. That's very unfair I know.
They have 100s of interns every month. HRs don't even bother to evaluate every single feedback.
It is mostly done by reference.
My suggestion to you because I also faced a similar situation.
Please stick to some good boutique firms for long time.
Gain experience and then go into these top tiers.
I don't want to be just another intern so i don't think my question is silly.
Not kidding. This was the actual thesis. The guy got a fellowship abroad, I think.
In all honesty the โน is an elegant symbol, ironically designed by a tamil himself, and should be mandated all across the country.
- Frequent cha be on PhD regulations
-Frequent change of doctoral committee, with each committee having their own way of running things
-Supervisors being too busy and not providing any feedback on time
- Massive backlog of people pursuing PhD, some from 2014 and 15
There are other systemic issues, but I don't wanna dox myself. Check the other discussions on NLS PhD on Legally India.
Something like a velvet revolution. Sad its not gonna happen.
We are stuck in a bad marriage with the North and the Central govt.
Let me assure you - most South Indians I know feel this way strongly.
We just cannot express it in public. Stalin is just brave enough to state things.
