We want LI to be one of the friendliest places on the internet, where lawyers and law students help each other with their career related queries and occasionally discuss other stuff that might affect their lives too. In other words:
1. Be kind, respectful and helpful to each other.
2. Be bona fide, truthful, genuine and curious.
3. Assume the best intention of others.

REQUEST for sharing COMMENT/EXPERIENCE/REVIEW from anyone who is currently doing their PhD in law or in humanities and social sciences at IIT Kharagpur regarding how they navigated the admission process/proposal/interview and their current academic situation at the institute. It would be of great help for prospective applicants.
JRF/NET is an option, but not mandatory. Candidates without these can be taken with the Institute Scholarship. The scholarship or fellowship amounts are the same in both cases (i.e. those with institute scholarship and those with JRF/NET fellowship).

Can one year LLM without NET apply ??
5 years(minimum) of integrated LLB degree after 10+2 examination OR 3 years LLB degree after 10+2+3 examination
They are already accepting those with LLBs directly, why argue about 1-year or 2-year LLMs? It is irrelevant. Apply with your LLB transcript. Even JRF/NET is not mandatory.
